In this episode of the We Love Life podcast, Daniel and Brian kick things off with some fun Christmas traditions (Nutella hot chocolate, real trees only, Jesse tree, China Fun Day 😂) and then dive into the deeper story of Advent in a world marked by a culture of death. They look at Joseph’s courage, the role of fathers, and how the Bible uses the same word (brephos) for the baby in Elizabeth’s womb and the baby in the manger – showing God’s heart for life both inside and outside the womb.
You’ll hear a hopeful reminder that Jesus didn’t just come 2,000 years ago – He still brings healing, restoration, and life into broken families, strained relationships, and the heaviness many feel during the holidays. The episode ends with a prayer over you and your family for this Advent and Christmas season.

In this episode of the We Love Life Podcast, Daniel Parks and Brian Ottinger celebrate an incredible milestone — 500 babies saved in 2025 — and then dive into the sixth healthy rhythm: connection to a local church.
We’ve already talked through sleep, rest, eating well, exercise, prayer, and time in the Word. But there’s one more rhythm that’s essential for every believer: being rooted and accountable in a local, Bible-preaching church.
Daniel and Brian unpack why the local church is God’s plan A, why accountability matters, and how discipleship and diversity in the body of Christ are key to spiritual growth. You’ll also hear powerful stories from the sidewalks and how the House of Refuge initiative is equipping churches to protect, prevent, and provide.
👉 If you’re not plugged into a church yet, check out the House of Refuge network at https://lovelife.org/refuge or email us at info@lovelife.org — we’d love to help you find a place to belong.
Be encouraged, be challenged, and remember: the gates of hell will not prevail against the church.
In this episode of the We Love Life podcast, Daniel and Brian unpack the 5th rhythm in our 6 Healthy Rhythms series — Sleep.
We talk about why sleep isn’t just a personal preference, but God’s idea for restoring our bodies and minds. From Jesus sleeping in the storm to Elijah’s “naps and snacks,” we explore the biblical foundation for rest, how it connects with the other healthy rhythms, and why you can’t pour into others if you’re running on empty.
Whether you sleep easily or struggle to shut your mind off at night, this conversation offers encouragement, Scripture, and practical tips to help you find the kind of rest that fuels your ministry and your life.
Listen in and discover:
The difference between rest and sleep
How sleep demonstrates our trust in God
Why ministry leaders and volunteers need intentional rest
Practical ways to find your optimal sleep rhythm
