In this episode, I sit down with two absolute legends of the jungle and drum and bass scene  Brockie & Det. Its no exaggeration to say this is a DJ & MC duo who helped shape the sound and spirit of an entire culture and this conversation goes far beyond the usual history. We explore their foundations in pirate radio, the raw energy of early raves, their unique chemistry on stage, the dark side that came with jungle in terms of gangs and guns and what it really takes to build longevity in such a demanding scene. In this episode, I’m joined by Tom Autobot, a true veteran of the rave scene whose journey began at just 13 years old. Nick Halkes is a legendary figure in the dance music world. His achievements are numerous, including co-founding the iconic XL Recordings, creating the rave anthem The Bouncer, founding the world-renowned Positiva Records, and managing Liam Howlett of The Prodigy — among many others. This conversation went deep, offering incredible insight into what it takes to build a long-term career in the industry and the many cultural and musical revolutions Nick has witnessed along the way.

Focusing on the legendary Stevie Hyper D, Jamie, alongside Stevie's nephew Darrell, has spent over 10 years creating a masterpiece that not only showcases Stevie's rise to fame within the 1990s drum and bass scene but also highlights his legacy, his impact on music up to the present day, and how his family coped with the grief and love following his untimely passing.
