The AwJiz Boys are back on the road in Vancouver! We sit down with Ali Bomaye Wasuk, an Afghan MMA fighter on a mission, and things get real fast.Ali came on the show ahead of his BFL Bantamweight Championship rematch against Christian Strong at BFL 86, TONIGHT February 19, 2026 at the Harbour Convention Centre in Vancouver, live on UFC Fight Pass. He lost the first fight. Now he wants the belt.We get into the full journey, from getting jumped outside school as a new kid in Vancouver, to competing at the highest regional level with his eyes locked on the UFC. He breaks down what it actually takes to stay disciplined when your whole family thinks fighting is haram, why knowing you can hurt someone takes the anger out of you, and how he never stops training whether a fight is booked or not.Ali also opens up about being a CEO at West Cana, a cannabis company with two Vancouver locations, how CBD became part of his recovery game, and why an Afghan fighter carrying the flag gets complicated when the newest version of it is white.Plus: growing up thinking you were Persian, the Taliban ban on striking sports, training with guys whose uncles work for the regime, why social media following might get you into the UFC faster than a good record, and what it was like to bomb on the same stage as Dave Chappelle.đĽ Watch Ali fight TONIGHT: BFL 86 â UFC Fight Pass | Harbour Convention Centre, VancouverFollow Our Guest:âś X: https://x.com/alibomayewasukâś Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ali.bomaye786/âś TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@aliwasukKane LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kanedabir/AwJiz Boys LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/awjizboysIf you rock with the AwJiz Boys, this is how you support and get more.Patreon members get:Exclusive episodesUnfiltered conversationsEarly access & bonus contentJoin us đ: https://www.patreon.com/c/AwJizBoysHey Afghans, let's get Luchak with the AwJiz Boys! The AwJiz Boys are on the road in Vancouver! We link up with Dawoud, the man behind Afghan Sound, who's been putting on Afghan concerts and events across Canada for over 15 years. We get into what it actually takes to throw events for our community (spoiler: it's a labor of love, not a money play), why working with Afghans is a whole different business game, and the challenge of getting our people to support each other instead of tearing each other down. Dawoud also shares memories from the OG Afghan basketball tournaments, the D-Sham Show days on Omni TV, and why he chose family life over the bachelor route.Plus: the charity guilt-trip at Afghan events debate, what your name says about you (Dave vs. David vs. Dawoud), Kobe vs. LeBron loyalty, and the eternal question...Follow Our Guest:â https://www.instagram.com/afghansoundentertainment/https://www.tiktok.com/@afghansoundentertainmenthttps://www.instagram.com/d.real.agenthttps://www.tiktok.com/@d.real.agentKane LinkedIn: â https://www.linkedin.com/in/kanedabir/â AwJiz Boys LinkedIn: â https://www.linkedin.com/company/awjizboysâ If you rock with the AwJiz Boys, this is how you support and get more.Patreon members get:Exclusive episodesUnfiltered conversationsEarly access & bonus contentJoin us đ:â https://www.patreon.com/c/AwJizBoysâ Hey Afghans, let's get Luchak with the AwJiz Boys! Unedited/Raw Full Episode here: www.PATREON.COM/AwJizBoysThe Secrets of the Taliban aka T-bros ft. PocoLocoIn this episode, we welcome Yosaf, known to many as PocoLoco. He is an Afghan American entrepreneur, cultural ambassador, and the founder of a tourism company based in Afghanistan. Raised in San Jose, California, Yosaf grew up balancing Western life with strong Afghan roots. After completing his studies at San Jose State University and helping launch a family business in the Bay Area, he turned his focus toward rebuilding the image of his ancestral homeland.Yosaf created Raza Afghanistan, a tourism company that offers authentic, secure, and culturally respectful experiences throughout the country. His mission is to challenge global perceptions and show that Afghanistan is not just a place defined by conflict, but one filled with natural beauty, ancient history, and unmatched hospitality. The tours he organizes allow travelers to visit cities like Kabul and Herat, the lakes of Band-e-Amir, and the Buddhas of Bamyan, while also engaging directly with local communities. His work gained global attention when he collaborated with The Arab, a prominent YouTuber known for documenting life in regions many consider off limits. Together, they created a viral video series featuring encounters with members of the Taliban, referred to in the series as the TBrothers. These videos captured moments of humor, daily life, and open conversations that challenged viewers to think differently about Afghanistan. Yosaf served as translator, cultural guide, and bridge between the local context and global audience. In every interaction, Yosaf brought depth, nuance, and care. While showcasing Afghan hospitality, he also spoke out about the challenges facing the country today, particularly the restrictions on education for girls and the limited role of women in public life. He believes that true Afghan values include generosity, dignity, and respect for all members of society, including women.Beyond tourism, Yosaf is committed to humanitarian work. Full Unedited episodes on our Patreon at www.PATREON.COM/AwJizBoys00:00 Western media and Afghan womenWe begin by challenging the narrative often presented in the West about the treatment of women in Afghanistan. Pocoloco confirms that rights have diminished, especially regarding public education beyond the primary level, but explains that girls still attend free Islamic schools and some women continue to work and run businesses.01:00 Islamic education and government prioritiesPocoloco shares how the Taliban emphasize Islamic knowledge over secular education. He references the first university in the world being founded by a Muslim woman to show that their emphasis is not on silencing women but redirecting their learning.02:00 Extreme views and the gray areaThe AwJiz Boys point out how conversations about Afghanistan are often all or nothing. Some believe women cannot even speak in public while others claim they are more respected than ever. Pocoloco offers a middle ground, saying women still express themselves and move freely, though within specific cultural and religious expectations.03:00 Gender roles in social lifeWe ask what daily social life looks like for women. Pocoloco explains that women can leave the house, attend gatherings, and host each other. Events are often gender-segregated, but still full of energy, connection, and tradition.04:00 Healthcare and the role of female doctorsOne of our biggest concerns is medical care. We ask how women access healthcare in a country where few are allowed higher education. Pocoloco says that international organizations like the United Nations still provide services, but Afghan women are often blocked from working with these groups due to cultural tensions.05:00 Conflict with NGOs and modern influenceWe explore how NGOs bring Western values that sometimes clash with local norms. Mixed-gender workplaces and Western lifestyles within these groups lead to friction with Taliban leadership, who resist foreign ideologies entering Afghan society.06:00 Defining the Islamic EmiratePocoloco discusses how Afghanistan identifies itself as an Islamic Emirate, not just a country. He envisions more Muslim-majority countries shifting toward this model, one that is not based on borders but unified faith and shared values.06:30 Shia Muslims and Taliban tensionsWe ask about the treatment of Shia Muslims in Afghanistan. Pocoloco is direct. The Taliban do not embrace Shia ideology, but they protect Shia communities from harm. He draws a sharp distinction between Taliban control and the brutality of ISIS, who actively target Shia people.07:00 Culture through fashionWe take a cultural detour to talk about Afghan style. From traditional hats to Karzai-inspired coats, Pocoloco explains the meaning behind clothing in Afghanistan and why he chooses certain items to wear when filming or appearing online.08:00 Taliban versus ISISThe episode closes with a conversation about the difference between the Taliban and ISIS. Pocoloco says that although the Taliban impose strict rules, they maintain relative order. ISIS, on the other hand, creates chaos, violence, and fear. He explains why understanding this difference matters for anyone watching Afghanistan from the outside.Follow our Guest: https://www.instagram.com/razaafghanistan/ https://www.instagram.com/iampocolocoFollow Us:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/awjizboys/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@awjizboys
