One of us has comically large beer for his little body (to make up for the lack of movie watching). This week we start what is setting up to be the autumn of Stephen King with a slew of adaptations on the way, first up is a less traditional option when thinking of the 'maestro of horror' in 'The Life Of Chuck', we go on summer vacation for an unexpected sequel with Hutch and the gang in 'Nobody 2', its then a 'thrilling' night in pursuit of life changing money in 'Night Always Comes' on Netflix and we finish with body horror effort from power couple Franco & Brie 'Together'. We are both men who prefer life at a leisurely stroll rather than a sprint, and this weekends weather is making even a stroll a sweaty experience, but we try and escape the heat with some movie chat. Up first a threesome of dreams with Pascal-Johnson-Evans uniting in the newest movie from Celine Song 'The Materialists', we then continue to get hot and sweaty with some methhead alligators in 'Gator Creek' available on Sky Cinema, we remain in the warm climate with some action thrills with 'Weekend In Taipei', then some heist action on Prime Video 'The Pickup' and we finish with belting horror/thriller 'Weapons' Hosted on Acast. A lovely week where we have both seen the same films, and in what is becoming quite irritating we agree on pretty much everythingUp first is romcom/thriller for the online dating generation 'F**k, Marry, Kill' available on Prime Video, also on that platform is the star studded political/action thriller 'Tin Soldier'. We are always lovers of a good Western so we turn to Sky Cinema for 'The Thicket' starring Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis and remarkably Metallica's own James Hetfield. We finish with one that we had nothing but fear for, the return of Police Squad in The Naked Gun, with Liam Neeson showing off his comedy chops. Hosted on Acast. A first time for us as we record across the sea with each other. We have reached a ridiculous milestone, 400 episodes of this sillinessThis week we don't talk about much new but instead defend our most extreme reviews the 10/10 and the 1/10's and we recap our end of year reviews from the past seven years. We were back at our spiritual home The Raven, Glasgow, its been a little while, it was loud but was wonderful to get back to the original premise of the two of us talking in a pub about the movies we loved. Maybe get to 500? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We are both failing in the sunny weather...we want it but we fear itThis week we look at Paramount+ horror offering 'Werewolves', we get our romcom on with 'Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy', then we delve into dystopia on Prime Video with 'The Assessment', one of us thinks a film came out in 2024 but in reality its 2014 and Salma Hayek is kicking ass in 'Everly' and we finish with heartfelt comedy/drama on Netflix 'Nonnas'. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We are testing out a new recording method this week so the sound quality is a little bit variable...luckily its only making the loud one quieterFor the second week in a row we have pretty much seen everything each other has, so its a good week, as we talk about Amazon Prime's very fancy and classy looking sequel 'Another Simple Favour', more Prime Video content with scifi 'Ash', then its over to Sky Cinema for Daisy Ridley going all John McClane on us in 'Cleaner', we then look at Shudder offering from New Zealand with a cast of note 'The Rule Of Jenny Pen' and we finish with a trip to the cinema for some heartfelt drama in 'The Penguin Lessons' Hosted on Acast.
