The metaphor of the vine illustrates our connection to Christ. Spiritual fruit is the outcome of a life aligned with God. Abiding in Christ is a continuous, daily relationship. Pruning can feel uncomfortable but is ultimately for our good. Joy is a byproduct of our relationship with God, not circumstances. God's pruning prepares us for deeper fruitfulness.
