You guys ever think about how everything you do on the internet is part of the problem? Like Data centers aren’t new, there are more of them because of how inefficient AI is and how quick the scam artists are selling them, but they aren’t new and this podcast is taking up space in them and drinking water. You listening to this is taking up energy and space, being on Social Media is another big drain. Sometimes, as you hear every week, we talk about wanting to get off of some social media platforms, but there’s not an alternative. The best part about social media that keeps me giving my information to the fascists and oligarchs is that my friends are on there, it isn’t that I LOVE sharing pictures, and that just isn’t possible in the world we have created. So sure, I could hop over to PicTopia, but Sam isn’t there, and I can’t convince Sam to go over there because Sam is barely on Instagram. And I know I’m just describing life pre 1996, but I think it was better before everything turned evil for profit, like when everyone I knew were all playing Farmville together and my Bully from Middle School needed to interact with me to get the special corn seed because I was the only one who had it. I guess it just didn’t feel like you had to be your own brand it really was just a town square. Not that that’s what it ever was because it was designed from the start to be a population contest. I don’t know, I’m sure it’s actually just nostalgia for a time before it was too political to not like Nazis. It's just that it is so much more fun and beautiful to not be all alone, and it's weird that it feels like iconoclasm to say things like "This person should have asked for help from another person instead of doing it on their own." Don't get it twisted, it is nice to not have to ask for help on something, we all get that, but why would you turn to AI or make a worse product instead of having fun with another person who is good at a skill you are clearly interested in, then you can learn more, make a friend, and make good fun content or products or economies. (Applause) so yeah. We didn't call, we did, there was no such thing as "Auto-Tune," it was a pitch machine, you guys are gonna know what I'm talking about right. I would LOVE to figure out sound. I just do not understand how different we all sound in-between recording and the edit. Is it that one of us is lying? That has to be it. We check and make sure that in the recording software that we all sound about the same volume and that isn’t the case in the edit so one of us has to be lying during mic check. Which one is it. Let’s look at the Suspects:Juliann: The One Who Records the Audio   - Motives: The Youngest, Afraid of Confrontation, Spite on Jeffrey from a wrong he definitely committed when we were all younger and evil, Most Potential of going Solo and can leave the other two behind in their shine, usually sounds great.   - Alibi: Knows more about recording and Audio than the other two, has a great rig, doesn’t hate Jessica.Jeffrey: The One Who Edits the Audio   - Motives: Is the one with the worse quality audio this episode, often the most petty person in the room, recently called a domestic terrorist by a “federal agent”   - Alibi: His Audio sucks this recording, Initiates the Mic Checks, has been fighting this fight for 95 episodes and bought microphones for Jessica and encouraged Juliann to upgrade her kit also.Jessica: The One Who Just Recently Got a Working Computer   - Motives: Oldest, knows the others respect her too much to pass blame, has plenty of activities outside of the podcast, therapist is leaving, has dogs who would prefer her not be on this podcast. The best way to listen to this one is with one ear pod in while you are in a Ross Dress for Less.Not mentioned in this episode is how the penny isn't gone, and if you think it is, great! It should be! However, it shouldn't just be technically gone, it should be removed by Congress (power of the purse) and in it's removal should be rules like if you want to still be charging people pennies and they pay cash, you should be required to round down and not up! Right? Because why should you be punished for a company being lazy? The reason everything ends in pennies anyway is because they don't trust you or employees so them being rewarded is criminal. And also, if you are getting rid of the penny because of any reason to get rid of the penny you also need to get rid of the nickel! If you just pretend to get rid of the penny it's just performance for a headline and not actual smart or thought out legislation! And then on 49 cent day at Ross, if you but just one item and pay with cash you should only have to pay 40 cents, or just market it as 50 cent day which is just as cool because the economy is not great! In the Podcast we talk about Elf on the Shelf, which we mentioned being relatively new. After editing this episode and looking into it, turns out the book was published in 2005. Making this year the 20th anniversary of Elf on the Shelf. This is absolutely crazy to me. That means that there is a max of 2 generations of Elf on the Shelf fans, and that second generation are YOUNG. I thought relatively new as in like the mid 90s or something, which is still new but not like Post 9/11. Although in typing this it actually makes a lot of sense that this NSA elf toy becomes popular in the second half of Ol' Dubbleya's 8 years. Anyway, if you are a family that loves this silly little elf all power to you. We have a friend of the show actually that was recently peer pressured by a different parent to make sure that they have an Elf on the Shelf because if they didn't have one then their kid would think they weren't special enough to be spied on by Santa, or worse the other persons kid would realize that this family doesn't need to be spied on and that means they were extra bad or maybe start not believing. So thats neat. Okay so two jokes I would like to dive in on from this episode and ruin with math, the first being Juliann asking Santa for 1 percent of the 1 percents net worth for Christmas. I did the math for just the number one richest person Elon Musk who at time of recording hasn’t officially received his 1 Trillion guarantee in stocks from Tesla, so he’s only working with 500 Billion Dollars, so just 1 percent from only him is giving Juliann 5 Billion American Dollars, placing her in the 1 percent. The second joke is the idea Jessica had that would be a Non-Profit Casino where the proceeds go to charity, so I looked into the estimated revenue that the now Defunct Circus Circus in Las Vegas made annually, and it was roughly 160 Million a Year, which is pretty close to the amount that Elon Musk donates in a year.
