A widow. A broken promise. Deception. Sex. And a story that somehow leads to Jesus.Tamar’s story in Genesis 38 is one of the most uncomfortable stories in the Bible. It’s messy, complicated, and filled with choices that make you stop and ask, “Wait… WHAT?”But beneath the deception and scandal is a story of a God who sees the overlooked, redeems messy circumstances, and can bring purpose out of situations we never would have chosen.Because Tamar’s story didn’t end with the mess.It became part of the story of Jesus.Let’s talk about Tamar.
Have you ever been waiting on God for so long that you started wondering… “Did I hear Him right?”Yep! Sarah knew that feeling. She had a promise from God, but the waiting became so uncomfortable that she eventually tried to make the promise happen her own way. And honestly? I think a lot of us can relate.Season 4 of Biblical Balance starts HERE, as we dig into Sarah’s story, her faith, her doubt, her mistakes, and the God who remained faithful through all of it.Maybe the hardest part of trusting God isn’t believing He can do it. Maybe it’s trusting Him when you have no idea when He will.“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” — Genesis 18:14
I’ve been asked a lot recently why I discontinued my meal prepping service, so in this episode, I explain. What seemed like a personal decision became a spiritual lesson about boundaries, people pleasing, undervaluing yourself, and learning how to say no. Navigating burnout revealed deeper truths about my fear, value, and desperation. Through the story of Esau in Genesis 25, we reflect on how desperation can distort your sense of worth and lead to impulsive decisions.
Lately, every time I feel overwhelmed, I’ve had to ask myself a hard question: do I really trust God, or do I just say I do? I used to think stress was just part of being busy, but recently I realized it was deeper than that. My stress has been exposing the areas where I struggle to surrender and revealing where my faith is weaker than I thought. In this episode, I unpack what Scripture says about being anxious, what Jesus modeled under pressure, and how I’m learning to surrender for real … not just in prayer, but in practice.
Sometimes it feels like the world measures success by numbers like followers, likes, or crowd size, but I have learned that God sees things differently! In this episode, I share how He has taught me that true impact is not about scale, it is about significance. From the woman at the well to the lost sheep and Zacchaeus, I reflect on how Jesus faithfully showed up for individuals, reminding us that saving one life can matter more than reaching a crowd. If your platform feels small or your efforts feel unseen, this episode is for you. I talk about why our mission as believers is not popularity it is presence, and how showing up faithfully for even one person can make a real difference. Join me as we explore how showing up for the one can sometimes be the whole assignment God has for us!
