Since its release, Ari Aster's MIDSOMMAR has been the object of heavy debate. A debate that we delight in having right here and right now. But one thing most of us can agree... F%&$ CHRISTIAN!
No NOT THAT ONE. We are talking about Anthony Shaffer and Robin Hardy's 1973 classic. The film that many horror scholars considers the quintessential folk horror film that defined the subgenre.
While franchises are not exclusive to the horror genre, it can be argued that a major aspect of horror's legacy can be attributed to the endless glut of sequels that have come out over the last century. Some are celebrated and some are derided. However with the passage of time, opinions wind up changing about certain sequels and often for the better. For this week we will discuss the oddity that is the horror movie sequel and how it relates to the way we as horror fans enjoy them initially and retrospectively.
Doctor Who has been running since 1963 and during all that time the show has embraced horror in various forms and many times the show and courted controversy because of it's willingness to scare kids behind the sofa.
