Branded Bills

Branded Bills

2025-09-2609:10

This installment of the beloved Jim & Shelby Show is about a consulting customer that hired us recently. We thought it provided us a good opportunity to talk about branding - after all, it's right in their name! And while this episode is not sponsored by them in any way, we do really like their hats. You can check them out at https://www.brandedbills.com/
We've been working closely with Jeremy Poehls from Color Gamut Consulting and thought he would make for a great guest to talk about the ins and outs of DTF printing! We genuinely think Jeremy's DTF knowledge is a great help to anyone in the field. If you want to check him out, you can see more of him here:https://www.colorgamutconsulting.com/https://www.youtube.com/@colorgamutconsulting

Remote vs On-site

Remote vs On-site

2025-06-1616:18

On this week's episode we'll cover something that has been very relevant to our lives lately - the benefits and drawbacks of remote consulting and in-person consulting. Both are useful in their own way, but there are a lot of factors that set these training/consulting methods apart.
Jim and Shelby drive through the beautiful state of Wisconsin while talking about color management software, consulting, and then some restaurants they ate at while traveling.
Our episode this week ended up as more of a roundup as a lot of topics that have been on our mind lately, most of them dealing with the ever-present AI shaking up our industry as well as others.

Easter Eggs!

With Easter right around the corner, we decided to talk about Easter eggs today, but with a twist. These are the Easter eggs of color management! Different things you can look out for when printing that might be an indication of what's wrong or what's to come for your printer.
Can AI see color?

Can AI see color?

2025-03-2119:35

This question came from Jim & Shelby's Q&A. Shelby had a long conversation with her friend that asked this, and we felt that the discussion that it spawned was interesting enough to turn it into a podcast episode. If you've got any burning questions and color management or anything color-adjacent, feel free to ask us on social media. We'll be happy to discuss it with you, and maybe it'll turn into a podcast episode!
As some of you are aware, we are revealing the winner of our Nix Mini giveaway for the ColorGraphic quiz on our website! One entrant, Michael Jahn, thought that some of the answers to this quiz were a bit different than what he would consider correct. So we decided to have him on to plead his case while we go through the quiz and reveal our lucky winner!
This week, we talk about hitting brand colors, how the industry oscillates between spending on tech and training, and touch a bit on what we think 2025 will look like. We also, of course, will let you know what the next trade show you can find us at is!
WCAF Expo

We have another trade show episode! This time, Jim heads to the WCAF Expo at The Horseshoe in Las Vegas. Shelby wasn't able to attend this one, but Jim was still able to get in an interview and give a nice walkthrough of the show floor.

Take a step into Shelby's lab as we show you what goes on when we aren't out working with clients! In this sneak peak into Shelby's Shelf, you get a brief look at our little dye sublimation lab and how different software can impact color when printing.
Happy New Year! To start the year out we have a bit of role reversal where we were guests on Clark's new Color Matters podcast hosted by Clark Omholt. The start of the podcast is a bit of an update from us before we cut away to Clark (and also us but from the past). You can see a few more episodes of Clark's podcast at https://truhu.app/blog/category/color-matters-podcast/
Pattern Room

Pattern Room

This week, we have another guest on the podcast: Julia Van Der Sommen from Pattern Room. Pattern Room is very printing-adjacent as they sell patterns to be printed on to garments. We speak in detail about how the different sizes and fits of garments impact the experience of both the seller and the customer, as well as ways to reduce waste in the garment space. If you are interested, we recommend you learn more about Pattern Room here: https://patternroom.com/

This week we have a smaller episode before some of the bigger ones we have planned for the end of the year. Shelby attended GPX Charlotte, a smaller trade show and has a bit of footage from there, plus some of our thoughts on the show and trade shows in general at the end of the episode.
Last time we did an episode without Shelby, this time it's only Shelby! This one is from the Mimaki Digital Textile Factory Event that took place on October 30th. Shelby goes over a little of what went on at the show, gets a quick interview, and shares some footage from one of the speakers.
