Hey, soccer fans! The Chicago Fire secured a key road win at Minnesota United over the weekend, keeping them 9th in the table and hopeful to reach the post-season. They played what may have been their best game of the years defeating the Loons 3-0. Though facing a rotated home squad, the Men in Red handled business with goals from Joel Waterman, Dje D'avilla, and Philip Zinckernagel. Tune in as we break down the stats and the performances, and look at the headlines that came from this result. Nick also tries to predict the future of Berhalter's roster. Hey, soccer fans! Nick is back with the second episode in a double-header podcast that will bring you up to speed on all the news around the Chicago Fire Football Club. We're going over what the analysts are saying about the Men in Red, what the new stadium timeline is going to be, and who received contract extensions. Nick also breaks down the finalized roster of the club as they make their push to the playoffs. Tune in and join the conversation! Hey, soccer fans! Nick is back after a two-week hiatus reviewing and previewing all the Chicago Fire's latest matches. He looks at a nerve-wracking win over New England, a deflating loss to New York City FC, and a matchup with a (hopefully) tired and rotated Minnesota United. After all this, where does that leave our Men in Red in the playoff picture? 6th place looks out of reach, 7th might be achievable with a little luck, but 8th place is going to be hard enough to secure with the Red Bulls close behind. Tune in for all Nick's takes on the matches, the stats, and his predictions. Tune in and join the conversation! Make sure you like & subscribe, rate & review, and keep growing the show. Hey, soccer fans! The Chicago Fire are back in action after a dissapointing loss to the Philadelphia Union. This weekend they take on a New England Revolution team that still believes in their playoff chances. However, the Men in Red are a much better team on paper and in practice. I'm predicting a 3-1 victory for the Fire, especially the way they're playing in Bridgeview this season. We also have an update on Claudio Cassano, who as reported by Alex Calabrese of Men in Red 97, will be loaned to FC Lugano. THough inelligible to play for CFII due to his salary, he is more than deserving of the opportunity to play first team minutes in Lugano after dominating MLS Next Pro. Nick also sneaks in a rant about the Leagues Cup Final between the Seattle Sounders and Inter Miami. In the second half of the show, we look at the Chicago Fire's acquisition of the Chicagoland Indoor Soccer League (CISL) and what it could mean for the future of the organization. Nick recognizes some international call-ups to wrap up the episode. Tune in and join the conversation! Make sure you like & subscribe, rate & review, and keep growing the show. Hey, soccer fans! The going gets tough for the Chicago Fire this weekend as they travel to Suburu Park to take on the Philadelphia Union. The Union are the stingiest defense in MLS, but the Fire are the highest scoring road team this season. Will one of those give way, or will we see a low scording draw. Spoiler Alert: Nick predicts the low scoring draw. Tune in to hear how these teams match up in a pivotal late-season matchup. Nick also discussed the signing of Serbian international Viktor Radojevic. He looks at his experience, statistics, and breaks down how he thinks the Men in Red will utilize their new signing. Hey, soccer fans! Once again the Chicago Fire lay waste to their rivals, as they come back for the 3-2 victory over St. Loses...ahem...St. Louis City. Tune in as we break down the players, the stats, the fun of a weather delay, and see where the Men in Red can finish this post-season. Hey, soccer fans! The Chicago Fire drew LAFC after a controversial penalty call late in the game. The Men in Red did just enough to win, but the referee did just enough to give LAFC and their new high-profile signing - Son Huen-ming - the star treatment. With the draw, the Fire sit 9th in the East and have a fight on their hands to make the playoffs. Tune in for potential scenarios and matchups given the tight race in the East. Also in this episode, Nick discusses the Fire's newest signing. Andre Franco joins the team on loan for the rest of the season from FC Porto of Portugal's top flight. He is eligible to play this week against St. Louis City and is expected to make an impact whenever he does take the pitch. Nick concludes the show discussing the teams that rely on their Designated Players, breaking down each team's goals and assists contributed by their DPs. Tune in and join the conversation! Hey, soccer fans! Nick is back breaking down the best and worst Designated Players (DPs) in Major League Soccer history based on a list from espn.com. Take a walk down memory lane for the best and worst the league had to offer, and hear who from the Chicago Fire had an argument to make either list. In the second half, Nick previews the Men in Red's next MLS match: a home game in Bridgeview against Western Conference opponent LAFC. Breaking down the stats, Nick expects an offensive matchup but thinks the Fire will get the win in the end. Tune in and join the conversation! In this episode, Nick recaps his time at the Meet the Players Party, including tips for your future season ticket members, and he looks at all the transfers hapening around MLS - it certainly is the silly season of summer transfers. Finally, he looks at the worst Designated Player signing in the history of Men in Red. Do you think you know who it is? Tune in and join the conversation! Hey, soccer fans! Nick is back talking about Chicago Fire FC transfer targets, the latest on the pursuit of Patrick Berg, and the Fire's latest result: a 1-0 victory over Eastern Conference rival New York Red Bulls. The Fire are back in the playoff-off picture, but will need a strong finish to the season to guarantee them a chance at the MLS Cup. How do you think the season will end? Nick also discusses the new Leagues Cup format and recaps the surprising scores from the opening matches between Major League Soccer and Liga MX. He's a fan of the new format and loves the unique matchups between the leagues. Tune in and join the conversation! Make sure you like & subscribe, rate & review, and keep growing the show. Hey, soccer fans! Did you enjoy the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge and Game? My family and I sure did! Even moreso, we enjoyed the Fire's 2 game point streak and seeing Philip Zinckernagel continue his fine form against the Liga MX All-Stars. In this episode, Nick first explores Chris Mueller's announcment of his diagnosis of pericarditis. He then recaps the Chicago Fire's victory vs. CF Montreal, previews their game against New York Red Bull, and breaks down the Eastern Conference standings. The Men in Red are poised to make a push for the playoffs after defeating the bottom of the conference, but can they take enough points from better teams to find the post-season? Also, Nick looks at the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge and Game, what he'd improve about them, and how great it was to have Philip Zinckernagel representing Chicago in Austin. The show wraps with Nick's scouting report of reported Fire transfer target, Patrick Berg of Norway. While he'd be a great addition to the midfield, he is not worth the $12 million dollar asking price or a Designated Player spot. Can the Fire get a reasonable deal done for one of the top talents in the Eliteserien? Tune in and join the conversation! Make sure you like & subscribe, rate & review, and keep growing the show. Hey, soccer fans! Nick is back, pulled muscle and all, talking about Chicago Fire FC's latest result: a 2-1 loss at home to expansion side San Diego FC. Andres Dreyer showed the Windy City why he was voted an All-Star, and the Men in Red showed why their defense and depth still need work. Tune in as Nick breaks down the stats and key plays from the match. We then preview the Fire's next matchup, and away game at Atlanta United, another team struggling this season. Nick thinks the Fire's season hangs in the balance and the results of the next match could decide the team's fate. In the second half of the show, Nick reads and reacts to an ESPN article reporting on discussions between FIFA and players' groups for mandatory breaks during the International Match Calendar. While he praises the initiative and the willingness of FIFA to partake in the discussions, he remains skeptical of any meaningful change anytime soon.
