Surah Al-Maida, verse 83 presents a vivid portrait of believers who encounter divine truth: "When they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of what they recognize as the truth. They say: 'Our Lord, we believe. So write us down among the witnesses.'" This verse captures the moment believers move beyond passive listening, they hear the Quran, recognize its authenticity through their hearts, and respond with profound emotion. The tears mentioned here are not mere sentimentality but evidence of a soul awakened to divine reality, a acknowledgment that the message has penetrated beyond intellect into the depths of consciousness. The verse encapsulates the complete hierarchy of Quranic engagement: first, hearing (sam'u) the act of listening; second, pondering (tadabbur) recognizing the truth through reflection; third, emotional response (aynahum tasil) tears that signify the heart's submission; and finally, living by it (katabna ma'a ash-shahidin) committing to become witnesses of this truth in action. This progression shows that true Quranic literacy isn't intellectual alone, it demands we hear with ears, reflect with minds, respond with hearts, and ultimately embody the message in our lives. The believer who achieves all four levels becomes a living testimony to the Quran's transformative power.support us at: https://buymeacoffee.com/uppuTeam Uppu:Host: Abul AhlaCo-Hosts: Saeed Hafiz, Safwan#podcast #malayalampodcast #thadabbur Join us for another insightful episode where we delve into diverse topics, bridging cultures and ideas. At the Battle of Badr, the believers faced an impossible situation. Outnumbered, exhausted, and facing their enemy with resolve. But Allah didn't leave them alone. He sent down drowsiness as a gift, a sign of His protection and a calming of their hearts. While Shaithan tried to scatter their minds with fear, Allah's sleep brought security. This wasn't just rest, it was divine reassurance that they were under His watch. Then came the rain. The believers had no water, and Shaithan whispered: "How can you pray when you're impure?" But Allah responded with rain from the sky. It quenched their thirst, purified them, and miraculously firmed the sandy ground beneath their feet, giving them physical strength and spiritual steadiness. Every blessing had a purpose. Every difficulty had a response. This is how Allah supports those who trust in Him completely.support us at: https://buymeacoffee.com/uppuTeam Uppu:Host: Saeed HafizCo-Hosts: Abul Ahla, Safwan

"No matter where you go or what you do, peace is what's important." This was a dialogue that went trending on reels and memes sometime before. That makes us wonder, how does a human being attain ultimate peace? Does the possession of worldly commodities give you the same? If yes, what about those filthy rich people who happen to have everything you can imagine and yet commit suicide? Let's discuss this while we reflect on an Ayah about this attainment of ultimate peace
There are moments in which we find ourselves in front of a hundred possibilities to commit a sin and zero chance of being held accountable here in dunya. Shaytan makes it seem nice, simple and interesting. The Ayah we're discussing today is something that should ring in our minds like an emergency alarm in moments like these.
"And if he attempts to get to me walking, I'll march to him running", says Allah in a Hadith Qudsiyy. Allah's not that God in our concepts who's on the wait to see us sin so that he could punish us. Rather, he's someone who's more than keen to forgive us and hold us in his wings of mercy. There is no door to him except that he has left widely opened for his beloved slaves to enter and march towards him. Join us in this episode of Thadabbur Series as we reflect on a beautiful Ayah describing his mercy and care for his creation.
Here we begin, in the name of Allah, something we've been long waiting to share with you; our Thadabbur Series. We'll be reflecting on Ayahs that influenced us throughout various stages of our life in these short episodes. We hope to spark meaningful conversations about Kalamullah through these episodes.Human beings are prone to sins. Their minds tend to be attracted the gimmicks of falsehood then and again no matter how from his belief and conviction is. But, no matter how deep they fall, they hold firm the rope of Allah, and sling back once they're reminded about Allah; their Eemaan rising even more higher than it was before while the words of their lord are being recited before them. Join us this very first episode of our Thadabbur Series as we reflect on an Ayah discussing this signifying trait of a true believer
Scholars occupy a significant position in the idea of an Islamic society. Their knowledge adds more meaning to their deeds and that is considered and rewarded by Allah. But what if those same scholars use their knowledge in ways forbidden by Allah for the sake of Dunya? Join us in this new episode of Uppu Podcast as we reflect on Ayahs discussing this.

Rarely has a New York mayoral election drawn global attention the way the one won by Zohran Mamdani did. The outcome opened up crucial conversations around minority politics, representation, and the meaningful participation of communities, particularly Muslims, within a popular democracy. It also signalled a swift and striking shift in the American political imagination, the very space that had enabled the rise of the far right not long before. In this episode of the Uppu Podcast, we sit down with Afeef Ahmed, a PhD scholar at Harvard University, to unpack the political, social, and ideological implications of this moment.
It's not been so long since words like "self love" and "self help" got added to our daily vocabulary. There's a whole genre of self-help books that claim to be an imperative in increasing your productivity and enriching your career. Does this overwhelming focus on 'individual productivity' affect the way we see our social life? Does it make people always in doubt of their own work and can't help being insecure about the results they get? Does it consciously overlook the unequal social restraints that affect the results of two people from different backgrounds but have put in the same effort? "By Allah, this is the supplication I make for my Ummah in every prayer", said Rasool(s) when he saw Ayisha (r) so happy after he prayed for her sins; in the past and the future, the hidden and the public, to be forgiven. We were in his thoughts(s) constantly and he'd tire himself making special supplications for us.
