Description
Bustin’ makes us feel good! Ghostbusters: Resurrection is an unofficial RPG audio drama about America’s newest Ghostbusting team. It’s been over twenty years since the world was last saved by The Ghostbusters of New York. Ghosts are a rare sight these days and people have once again grown skeptical. But now, ghost sightings are on the rise in Central Florida. In a desperate attempt to keep Orlando's image as “the vacation capital of the world” unbesmirched; the mayor cuts a deal to start a new ghostbusting franchise. Ghostbusters: Resurrection is an actual-play podcast using the classic, 1980s Ghostbusters roleplaying game to tell cinematic, spectre-smashing adventures.

Season 2 is a wrap! Tune in as Doug talks about what comes next: Season 3, bonus content, GBR Q&A, and more! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Unfortunate news, Ghostbusters: Resurrection fans. Season 3 has to take and unscheduled mid-season break for circumstances beyond our control. Doug isn't just the series Game Master, he also does all the post production and sound design for the series, and it's super time consuming. The time has come where producing the show and paying the bills are at odds and now Doug is on the hunt for a better day job. New shows are still getting recorded, but all the post production will have to wait while he hunts for better income. Normally we'd hire on an editor to help, but the timing and cinematic quality of the show are entirely Doug's baby and without him, the critical plot points, comedic timing, and overall tapestry of what you know and love as Ghostbusters: Resurrection might take a hit. The show will be back in action as soon as humanly possible and Doug will fill you in on a few more details in this short audio update. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to us on the forums, Facebook, or Twitter. You can contact Doug directly at ghostbusters@nerdyshow.com And if you haven't yet, please consider supporting the series via The Nerdy Show Network Patreon as we work towards our dream goal of hiring Doug for ourselves so nothing will impede Ghostbusters: Resurrection ever again. America’s newest Ghostbusting franchise is officially up and running! But it seems like no one noticed since it’s been about three weeks, and the crew hasn’t received a single call. While the guys don’t mind sitting around the firehouse all day, if they don’t start getting some business soon, they’re bound to close just as quickly as they opened. Thankfully, on a particularly boring day, the gang gets a call from the Orlando Police Department saying that they’re urgently needed downtown. A taxicab has thrown out its driver and passenger; and is currently driving itself! Traffic is backed up for miles, it’s almost rush hour, and this haunted taxi is showing no signs of stopping. At a time like this, who ya gonna call? Five trigger-happy rookies with nuclear accelerators and zero field experience. Join us as our inexperienced Busters venture out on their first case. They don’t believe in Ghosts (yet), but that won’t stop them from busting. Did we plan the launch of this episode around Bill Murray’s birthday? If that’ll make your listening experience that much better… let’s just go and say yes. Also, got a question for them? Notice some ghost or specter at night? Give them a ring: (321) 209-2020 Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It’s been couple of days since the incident downtown and the guys still haven’t been paid. Although they still have the hotel room key from that suspicious taxi passenger, the gang decides it’d be best to go on the next call and make some money before launching their investigation. A citrus farmer in Mount Dora says that ever since he started construction on his property, something has been digging graves in his orange grove. To make matters worse, members of his construction crew and family have been blacking out and waking up in the bottom of these freshly dug graves with no memory of how they got there. One thing’s for sure; whatever is doing this is getting stronger and more desperate. Will these greenhorn Ghostbusters be able to solve the case before being buried alive? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After their last terrifying encounter, the gang has decided to adopt the stray dog they found in the orange grove. While Nina takes it to get a check up and some food, the Ghostbusters receive a desperate call from an apartment building downtown. All of the tenants televisions turn on by themselves and then blast full volume until 11pm every night. Even when power is cut from the building, the power cords fuse themselves into the wall. Not only that, some of the children claim to have seen a ghost during that time. It’s become unbearable and has started to affect other nearby buildings; so the tenants have pooled all their money together and are begging the Ghostbusters to help. Can the gang put a stop to this phenomenon before it spreads across the whole city? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In this episode, Poole goes on a date to Medieval Times with Selena (the girl from their last job). Soon after, a call comes in from the Magic Kingdom. During the opening ceremony of the recently refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean ride, several guests were attacked by a pirate ghost! Things get complicated when the Ghostbusters arrive only to find out that the head ride supervisor doesn’t want them there. With a ghost attacking helpless tourists and a Disney security team on its way kick our heroes out of the park, the Ghostbusters will have to work fast to tackle their most dangerous challenge yet. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
While Bjornstad is on a date, the remaining four Ghostbusters are called on to two different cases across town. First is a case where two repairmen from the telephone company have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. The second case involves a ghost physically abusing the waitstaff of an upper class social club downtown. Even with the help of their stalwart dog Tobin, it sounds like it’s going to be one action packed day of busting heads. (In a spiritual sense, of course.) But in the business of Ghostbusting, being busy usually means something bad is on the horizon. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After a busy afternoon, the Ghostbusters decide its time to order some new equipment. That same evening, the New York branch emails them blueprints for a boson dart modification, and Briggs starts building them. In the meantime, EPA Inspector Alan Friedman arrives but his visit is cut short as an emergency call comes in. The “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!” on International Drive was hosting a rock show in their new venue space, when thousands of snakes started attacking the audience. Armed with their new Boson Dart modifications, and Bjornstad still out on his date, the Ghostbusters confidently charge in only to find themselves facing their most powerful foe yet! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After finishing their longest and most dangerous shift yet, the Ghostbusters awake the next morning to receive the rest of their new equipment in the mail and to hear how Bjornstad’s date went. After some consideration, the crew decides to call up their contact from the mysterious group “Occulto Veritas,” and schedule a time for their initiation. Not long after that, the New York branch calls and asks if the guys would be interested in training a new special task group of international Ghostbusters to take care of Europe. With the offer of new equipment and lower fees, how could they resist? But before the night ends, Blake’s date suddenly calls and says she is being attacked by statues on the UCF campus! Can the Ghostbusters save her before it’s too late? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
While preparing for the arrival of the international Ghostbusters, the gang gets a surprise visit from Alan Friedman. They also get a call from an informant inside Occulto Veritas who reveals some hidden details about the taxi passenger from their first bust. Once the international busters arrive, a call comes in from Fort Christmas saying that a small army of ghosts has taken over the fort and are shooting trespassers on sight. Sounds like our heroes are going to need a bigger team if they’re going to break into this fortress. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After experiencing a large PKE Pulse the night before, the Ghostbusters get a frantic call from a family in Little Vietnam that says their young daughter is possessed by a powerful demon. Knowing that this is a problem that can’t be solved by a simple blast of proton beams, the guys decide to test out their new non-lethal invention: The Slime Net. Although this demon may prove to be more formidable than the Ghostbusters first expected, they’ll soon discover that this is only the beginning of the longest day of their lives. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Ghostbusters are called to the Orlando Science Center where some artifacts have been acting strangely. With the help of the security team, they quickly discover that the recent PKE surges across the city have all originated from this point. The new artifacts along with a phone call from Dr. Stantz and Dr. Spengler help shed some light on this “Obsidian Serpent” that the guys have been hearing so much about. Of course, it’s all bad. War, human sacrifice, and cannibalism for starters. Followed closely by the enslavement of all humanity until the world ends, then an afterlife of unending worship. Turns out, the only thing worse than knowing the details of the apocalypse, is also knowing that it’s going to happen today, and you started it. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After another massive PKE surge has rocked the city, the Ghostbusters have been arrested! The mayor still seems to think that the guys are full of crap, and are somehow responsible for the mass hysteria currently happening all across town. The tension builds with the help of some corrupt politicians, deadly spirits, terror dogs, explosions, and car chases. But if the Ghostbusters are ever going to save the world, they’ll need to get out of their holding cells first. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The apocalypse is in full swing as the Ghostbusters stare down a 450 foot tall Aztec pyramid which has manifested itself over the Science Center. Briggs wants to climb the outside while the others want to search the inside for the Ecto-1 and their precious beach kit. With their dog Tobin by their side, and the whole city behind them, the Ghostbusters enter the pyramid with Neutronas drawn and ready for action. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
After the long climb up, the Ghostbusters have defeated Itzcóatl’s four personal guards and now finally face Itzcóatl himself! Will the five slackers who started this crazy journey ever become heroes? Can they really survive an encounter with a god? Everything has lead up to this epic finale, so it’s one you definitely won’t want to miss! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
So the Ghostbusters have saved the world on Cinco De Mayo, and things couldn’t be better. That is, until they get a call from a former client. The speculation quickly starts. What loose ends haven’t been dealt with? Is it really anything we couldn’t handle? We just saved the world! In this particular case, overconfidence may be their biggest weakness because only two things are for certain: This ghost is unlike anything they have ever seen, and nobody saw it coming. It’s been six months since the Central Florida Ghostbusters saved the world, and so far, it’s been business as usual. However, when a call out to Port Canaveral to trap a ghost haunting a private yacht comes in, things heat up and this “routine” bust quickly escalates into one of their most dangerous jobs yet! Join our heroes: LaForge (the muscle), Briggs (the brains), Wall (the moves), and Poole (the cool) as they stumble into danger and embark on an epic trip that’ll make the last time they saved the world look like a piece of cake.
