In this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the head video coordinator of the Los Angeles Lakers, Micah Fraction. Micah shares all the stops in his basketball journey from playing high school basketball at Montrose Christian, working under legendary coach Jim Larrañaga at The University of Miami, working in the film room in the G League, and finally breaking into the NBA with one of the best franchises in all of sports, the LA Lakers.  His journey is just getting started as he works towards his goal of being an NBA head coach. With all of his stops from high school to the NBA, Micah's journey is a perfect example of staying the course and getting 1% Better Daily.
Shelton Hawkins basketball journey started in Germany as a child growing up in a military family. When he returned to the states, he noticed his local park was empty. Determined to bring the court back to life, he combined his passion for art and basketball and restored the court. In this episode, Shelton talks about his basketball journey, how basketball impacts his art, and what Play In Color means to him.
Brandon Heyen is a Pure Sweat Skills Coach in the Central Illinois area. Brandon graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2015. While at Illinois Wesleyan, Brandon was a part of teams that made 2 NCAA Division III Final Four appearances and won 2 CCIW Conference Championships. Brandon’s passion for player development came from having to battle back from multiple ankle injuries in his college career. Working with players of all ages and skill levels, Brandon focuses on not only improving the on-court skill of his players, but also on using basketball to teach lessons and values that players can use to find success outside of basketball.
Aaron Winshall's basketball origins go back to Boston, Massachusetts where he was introduced to the game at 6 years old. Since then he has had many unique stops along his basketball journey including coaching alongside Jim Boeheim, working in the Miami Heat video room, and NBA pre-draft training. He is now working to grow the game in Haiti as he builds the Haiti Basketball Foundation as well as getting his feet wet in the Los Angeles basketball scene.
Coach Shea started playing basketball in his hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska. He graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from Cal State East Bay (where he also played). It was during this transition into college basketball where he discovered his own need for mindful, adaptable training solutions both on and off the court. He continuously studies literature in sports psychology, physiology, philosophy, nutrition and more with the intent of integrating well-rounded knowledge into his player development strategies.
