In this special Duocast episode, Scott is joined by Pete Ohlinger of The Days of Noah Podcast for a thoughtful and biblical discussion on one of the most debated doctrines in Christianity today: Is hell eternal?
Recent public conversations among well-known Christian voices have revived interest in the doctrine of hell — specifically the debate between eternal conscious torment and annihilationism (conditional immortality). What does the Bible actually teach?
In Part 1 of this two-part discussion, Scott and Pete:
Introduce their ministries and the purpose behind their podcasts
Discuss the growing trend of doctrinal shifts in modern Christianity
Define eternal conscious torment and annihilationism
Examine whether immortality is inherent or conditional
Explore whether unbelief is the core issue in eternal judgment
Address the justice of God and the nature of divine punishment
Consider the “age of accountability” question
Begin examining key passages in Revelation concerning the Lake of Fire
This conversation is not about controversy for its own sake — it is about returning to Scripture and carefully handling what God has revealed.
As always, we approach this topic with humility, recognizing that while this is not a salvation issue, it is a serious theological one that deserves careful study and discernment.
Part 2 will continue this discussion and examine additional biblical texts and theological implications.

What did Paul mean when he wrote, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard…”?
This verse is often quoted as a poetic reference to heaven—but in its full context, it speaks of something far more specific. Paul was not pointing to imagination. He was declaring a mystery once hidden in God and later revealed by the Spirit.
In this lesson, we examine:
The full context of 1 Corinthians 2
Paul’s citation of Isaiah 64
The connection between loving God and waiting for Him
What it means to “love His appearing”
The mystery revealed to Paul in Ephesians 3
How Jew and Gentile are made fellow heirs in Christ
Why loving God includes loving your brother
What God has prepared for those who believe
The phrase “Eye hath not seen” does not mean God left us uninformed. The hidden wisdom of God has now been revealed through the gospel. The mystery is that salvation is available to all—Jew and Gentile alike—through faith in Jesus Christ.
To love God is not merely to say it. It is to believe on His Son, proclaim the truth, endure in faith, and look for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Christ is coming.
The mystery has been made known.
And what lies ahead surpasses anything the human heart has conceived.
Key Scriptures
1 Corinthians 2:6–10
Isaiah 64:1–5
Matthew 22:36–40
Titus 2:11–13
2 Timothy 4:1–8
1 John 4:7–21
1 Thessalonians 1:2–10
Ephesians 3:1–11
The Gospel
If you have never trusted Christ, believe the gospel.
Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day for your justification. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If you are saved, love His appearing. Let it be known.

In this final installment of our series on the Book of Enoch, Scott Mitchell examines one of the most important questions of all: does the Book of Enoch meet the biblical standard for Scripture?
This episode focuses on three critical issues—canon, intercession, and biblical authority—and compares the claims of the Book of Enoch directly against the Word of God. Scripture is clear that God has promised to preserve His Word, that Jesus Christ alone is our intercessor, and that angels are ministering spirits, not mediators.
We also look at what the Bible actually teaches about access to the heavenly realm, why Christ’s sacrifice is central to that access, and why the Book of Enoch’s descriptions do not align with the timing and structure of redemption laid out in Scripture.
The Book of Enoch may be historically interesting, but history is not inspiration. In this episode, Scott lays out why the early church was right to reject it from the canon—and why believers should test every extra-biblical writing against the preserved Word of God.
In This Episode, You’ll Learn
Why God’s promise to preserve His Word matters when testing any book
What Scripture teaches about who can intercede—and who cannot
Why angels are ministers, not mediators
How the Book of Enoch conflicts with the Bible’s teaching on judgment and intercession
The difference between Ezekiel’s and John’s visions of God’s throne—and why timing matters
Why access to the heavenly throne is only possible after Christ’s atoning work
How Hebrews explains when the way into the holiest was truly opened
Why the Book of Enoch fails the biblical test for inclusion in the canon
Key Scriptures Discussed
Psalm 12:6–7 – God’s promise to preserve His Word
Genesis 6:5–8 – God’s judgment on the wickedness of man
Isaiah 53:10–12 – The Messiah as intercessor
Hebrews 7:24–25 – Christ ever lives to make intercession
Romans 8:26–27 – The Spirit’s intercession for the saints
Hebrews 1:4–14 – The nature and role of angels
Psalm 8:3–8 – Man’s place in God’s order
Psalm 115:16 – The heavens are the Lord’s, the earth given to men
Ezekiel 1:26–28 – Ezekiel’s vision of God’s throne
Revelation 4:1–8 – John’s vision of the throne in heaven
Hebrews 9:6–12 – When the way into the holiest was made manifest
Job 4:18 – God charging His angels with folly
Summary
The Bible does not leave the question of authority open-ended. God has preserved His Word, and He has revealed a clear structure for redemption, intercession, and divine order. When the Book of Enoch is tested against that standard, it falls short—especially in its teaching about angels, intercession, and access to the heavenly realm.
This episode concludes the series by showing why the Book of Enoch should be treated as historical literature, not Scripture—and why believers must keep the canon grounded in what God has preserved and promised.

Many believers affirm that Jesus Christ is the Word of God—but what about the Bible itself? Is Scripture truly God’s Word, or is it only a human record of spiritual ideas?
In this lesson, Scott Mitchell responds to a listener’s question and examines what the Bible says about its own authority. From the Gospel of John to the writings of Paul and Peter, Scripture consistently presents itself as God-breathed, trustworthy, and unbreakable.
Key Scripture Passages Referenced
John 1:1, 14 – The Word was God, and the Word was made flesh
John 10:34–35 – “The scripture cannot be broken”
2 Peter 1:16–21 – A “more sure word of prophecy” and the origin of Scripture
2 Timothy 3:14–17 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God
Psalm 12:6–7 – The Lord preserves His words
Luke 24:44–46 – Christ opens the understanding of the Scriptures
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 – The gospel according to the Scriptures
Acts 17:2–3, 10–11 – Paul reasons from the Scriptures; the Bereans search them daily
Romans 16:25–26 – The mystery made known by the Scriptures of the prophets
2 Peter 3:15–16 – Peter recognizes Paul’s writings as Scripture
1 John 4:1–3 – Test the spirits
1 Corinthians 2:6–13 – Spiritual things are discerned by the Spirit and compared with Scripture
Psalm 138:2 – God has magnified His Word above His name
What This Study Covers
The biblical meaning of “the Word” (Logos) and its connection to Scripture
Why Jesus treated Scripture as the authoritative Word of God
How the apostles used Scripture to prove the gospel message
Why Scripture is called “God-breathed” and what that means for believers
How God preserves His Word and why it remains the standard of truth
Why every spiritual claim must be tested by Scripture
The Bible does not present itself as a collection of religious opinions. It presents itself as the written, preserved Word of God. The same Scriptures that testify of Christ also reveal the gospel that saves: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
This message explains why Christians can confidently say the Bible is the Word of God—and why that truth remains central to faith, doctrine, and daily life.

What does the Bible mean when it calls Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God—and why does that phrase matter? In this message, Scott walks carefully through Scripture to show that “only begotten” is not a theological relic or a poetic expression, but a precise biblical truth that points directly to the incarnation, the cross, and the gospel itself.
This study explains why Jesus had to be born of a woman, why He had to enter the human experience, and why only a true man could die for men—while still being fully God. By comparing Scripture with Scripture, we see how the Bible uses “only begotten” to affirm both Christ’s humanity and His divinity without confusion or compromise.
You’ll also hear a clear biblical response to modern objections about the phrase “only begotten,” including the question of Isaac and Abraham, the meaning of promise, and why this language is essential to understanding salvation by grace through faith.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
What “only begotten Son of God” actually means in Scripture
Why Jesus had to be born in the flesh in order to die for sinners
How the Bible shows Christ to be fully God and fully man
Why Hebrews, Romans, Galatians, and John all point to the incarnation
The biblical meaning of “propitiation” and why it matters for salvation
How Isaac and the promise illustrate God’s plan in Christ
Why changing this phrase weakens the clarity of the gospel
What it means to truly believe on the only begotten Son of God
Key Scriptures:
John 1:14, 18
John 3:16–18
Romans 1:3–4; 3:23–26
Galatians 4:4–7; 3:26–29
Hebrews 2:9–18; 4:14–15; 11:17
1 John 4:9–10
Main Takeaway:
Jesus Christ did not merely appear as a man—He was born into the human experience so He could suffer, die, and become the perfect sacrifice for sin. The phrase “only begotten Son of God” protects this truth and keeps the gospel exactly where God put it: in a real Savior who really died and really rose again.

The Book of Enoch is often promoted as a missing key to understanding Genesis 6, the Nephilim, and the fallen angels. In Part 2 of this series, Scott Mitchell and John Potts continue testing the Book of Enoch by the only reliable standard: the preserved Word of God.
Rather than treating Enoch as inspired, this episode examines its language, claims, and internal consistency and compares them directly with Scripture. From questions about “orbits” and “luminaries,” to contradictions about eternal life, to the problem of Mount Hermon and the size of the giants, this study shows why the biblical fathers were right to reject Enoch from the canon.
This is not about dismissing history—it’s about rightly dividing the Word of Truth and keeping Scripture as the final authority.
In This Episode
Why historical interest does not equal biblical inspiration
The standard of Scripture: preservation, consistency, and divine authorship
Problematic language in Enoch: “orbits” and “luminaries” vs. biblical wording
What the Bible actually teaches about eternal life—and why Enoch conflicts with it
Confusion over the leader of the fallen angels in Enoch
The claim about Mount Hermon and “mutual imprecations” tested against Hebrew Scripture
Why the biblical names for Mount Hermon describe geography, not a curse
The giants of Enoch: why 3,000 ells (4,500 feet) makes no biblical or physical sense
How Scripture records giants—and why it never describes anything like Enoch’s claims
The role of scribes, preservation, and why non-canonical books lack the marks of Scripture
Why God’s Word keeps the focus on redemption in Christ, not angelic speculation
Key Scriptures Referenced (KJV)
Psalm 12:6–7 — God preserves His words
Genesis 1:14–18 — God’s description of the lights in the heavens
Job 38:31–33 — God names the stars and their ordinances
John 3:16; John 6:51 — Everlasting and eternal life
Revelation 22:5 — Reigning with Christ forever
Deuteronomy 3:8–9 — The biblical names of Mount Hermon
Genesis 6:4 — The giants and “men of renown”
Isaiah 8:20 — The test of all teaching by Scripture
Main Takeaway
The Book of Enoch may be interesting, but when it is tested by Scripture, it fails in language, doctrine, internal consistency, and agreement with God’s preserved Word. The Bible does not need to be corrected or supplemented. God has already given—and kept—what He intended His people to have.
About This Series
This is Part 2 of an ongoing examination of the Book of Enoch. The goal is not to elevate Enoch, but to compare everything to Scripture and to keep Christ and His redemptive work at the center of God’s Word.

In this message, Scott Mitchell examines the biblical warning that “the mystery of iniquity doth already work” and shows how Scripture traces this hidden system of deception from ancient Babel to the final rise of the man of sin. Using 2 Thessalonians 2 as the foundation, this study explains how something is presently restraining the full revelation of the Antichrist, even while the spiritual system behind him is already active in the world.
The lesson connects Jesus’ warnings about religious deception, Paul’s teaching on the falling away, and John’s vision of Mystery Babylon the Great in Revelation 17–18. You’ll see how false religion, rooted in Babylon, has shaped world history, why it is described as a system that traffics in the “souls of men,” and how it ultimately prepares the world to receive a false christ who will sit in the temple of God claiming to be God.
Scott also explains the biblical background of Babel, Nimrod, and the spread of idolatry through the nations, showing how this ancient rebellion against God continues under different names and forms today. The message closes with a sober warning about strong delusion in the last days—and a clear call to trust Jesus Christ, who alone will destroy the man of sin and bring this entire system to its end.
Key Scriptures:
2 Thessalonians 2, Matthew 7, Matthew 12–13, Genesis 10–11, Revelation 17–18, 1 Timothy 6
In this episode, you’ll learn:
What the Bible means by the mystery of iniquity
How Babylon’s religious system began and why it still matters
Why false religion is central to the rise of the man of sin
How Revelation describes Mystery Babylon and her final judgment
What Scripture says about the coming deception and strong delusion
Why the only safety is in believing the gospel of Jesus Christ
Listen and be reminded: the mystery of iniquity is already at work, but its time is limited. Christ is coming, and He will destroy the man of sin and the system behind him with the brightness of His coming.

In this episode of Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell and John Potts begin a careful, Scripture-based examination of the Book of Enoch. With increased interest in Enoch across Christian media, this study establishes clear biblical ground rules for evaluating non-canon writings without undermining the authority or preservation of God’s word.
Rather than dismissing Enoch outright—or elevating it to the level of Scripture—this episode tests the book using the biblical standard itself. Scott explains why quotation does not equal inspiration, why Scripture must interpret Scripture, and why internal contradictions disqualify any writing from being considered God-breathed.
This is Part 1 of a multi-part series.
What This Episode Covers
Why the Book of Enoch must be examined through Scripture, not alongside it
The difference between inspiration, historical value, and quotation
God’s promise to preserve His word and why that promise matters today
Why claims about “the original Greek” or “the original Hebrew" are often misleading
How manuscript traditions affect modern Bible translations
Why Enoch’s opening chapter conflicts no with biblical prophecy
Mount Sinai vs. the Mount of Olives and why the distinction matters
The claim that “all upon the earth shall perish” and why Scripture disagrees
The biblical problem with the term “the watchers”
Why Jude’s quotation of Enoch does not canonize the entire book
Key Scriptures Discussed
Genesis 3
Genesis 5:21–24
Psalm 12:6–7
Isaiah 24
Zechariah 14
Matthew 25:31–46
Romans 10
Galatians 4:24–26
Daniel 4
Jude 1:14–15
Acts 17:28
2 Peter 1:20–21
Core Takeaway
God’s word is self-authenticating, consistent, and preserved.
Any book that contradicts what God has already revealed—especially on prophetic and doctrinal matters—cannot be Scripture.
The Book of Enoch raises important questions, but Scripture alone determines the answers.
What’s Coming Next
In the next part of this series, Scott will continue examining where the Book of Enoch diverges from Scripture and will address topics often tied to Enoch, including the origin of demons and the distinction between demons and fallen angels.

Episode Summary
In this Bible study message, the question of how the Holy Spirit speaks today is examined through Scripture. Rather than relying on personal experiences, impressions, or private revelations, the Bible provides clear instruction on how God communicates with His people in this present age.
Scripture teaches that believers are given a teachable spirit at salvation so they may be instructed by the Holy Ghost. The Spirit teaches by comparing spiritual things with spiritual—Scripture with Scripture—and never contradicts the written Word of God. Throughout this study, biblical examples are used to show how the Spirit leads, teaches, seals, and calls through the gospel, while also warning against claims that cannot be tested by Scripture.
This lesson emphasizes the importance of discernment, the danger of private interpretation, and the sufficiency of God’s completed Word as the final authority for faith and practice.
Key Teaching Points
The difference between a teachable spirit and the Holy Spirit
How the Holy Spirit teaches by comparing Scripture with Scripture
What it truly means to be led by the Spirit of God
How resisting the Holy Ghost is tied to rejecting God’s Word
Why Scripture is a more sure word than visions or experiences

How to test the spirits according to 1 John 4
Why God’s Word is complete and sufficient for believers today

Main Theme
God speaks today as He always has—through His Word. The Holy Spirit does not add new revelation but teaches, reveals, and applies what God has already spoken in Scripture. Any claim of spiritual guidance must be tested against the written Word of God, which remains the final authority.
Closing Encouragement
Believers are not called to chase experiences or private messages. They are called to trust the Word of God, test the spirits, and follow the Spirit’s leading through Scripture. The same Holy Spirit who inspired the Word now uses it to convict hearts, teach truth, and call sinners to salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In Episode 268 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell is joined once again by our friend and brother in Christ, Jeff Dodson, for a focused discussion on biblical wisdom and its meaning in the Old Testament.
This episode continues the broader study of the foundational elements of faith—worship, knowledge, wisdom, and prayer—with special attention given to wisdom as revealed through the Hebrew language. Jeff explains the Hebrew word chokmah and contrasts God-given wisdom with human reasoning, showing how Scripture consistently ties wisdom to the heart and to the fear of the Lord.
Scott and Jeff also discuss the importance of studying ancient Hebrew rather than modern forms, the role of historical Jewish writings in understanding language and culture, and why Scripture cautions against confusing knowledge with wisdom. The conversation emphasizes that true wisdom is shaped through reverence for God, obedience to His Word, and a willingness to walk the old paths rather than follow modern distractions.
Listeners will also hear insights into hidden literary structures in Scripture, including Hebrew acrostics found in passages such as Proverbs 31 and Psalm 119, revealing intentional design and order embedded within God’s Word.
This episode offers encouragement for believers seeking clarity, discernment, and spiritual maturity in an age of constant information and distraction.
Key Scriptures referenced include:
Proverbs 1:7, Psalm 90:12, Psalm 119, Proverbs 31
Topics covered include:
The Hebrew meaning of wisdom (chokmah)
Wisdom versus human cleverness
Why the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom
Ancient Hebrew and biblical interpretation
Hidden acrostic structures in Scripture
Technology, culture, and their effect on discernment
Building a stable spiritual foundation rooted in God’s Word

Psalm 139 is often cited to affirm God’s intimate knowledge of life in the womb, and Scripture fully supports that truth. Yet the language of this Psalm points to something deeper—something the text itself invites us to examine more carefully.
In this Bible study, the phrase “curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth” is examined in light of Scripture, not tradition. The Bible consistently uses the lower parts of the earth to describe the realm of death, not the womb. When Scripture is allowed to interpret Scripture, Psalm 139 emerges as a prophetic picture of Christ’s descent, His resurrection, and the forming of His body—the Church.
Key Hebrew terms such as substance, curiously wrought, and yet being unperfect reveal a work of divine power and careful construction. The Psalm speaks of members written in God’s book before they were manifested, aligning with New Testament teaching on the body of Christ and the Book of Life.
This study connects Psalm 139 with passages from Ephesians, Corinthians, Philippians, and Revelation to show how believers are joined together through the resurrection power of Christ. The Church is not an afterthought, nor a loose assembly, but a body formed through the faith of the operation of God.
Psalm 139 does more than describe God’s knowledge—it declares His purpose.
Key Scriptures (KJV):
Psalm 139:1–24;
Psalm 139:13–16
Ephesians 4:7–10
1 Corinthians 12:13–27
Philippians 3:21
2 Corinthians 5:1–9
Revelation 20:12, 15

Earth, Wind & Fire’s 1979 song In the Stone was never written to teach the Bible. Yet its lyrics echo truths that Scripture has already established—truths about love, light, strength, and permanence. God often leaves His mark where men never intend to place it. In this episode, Scott Mitchell examines the lyrics of In the Stone through the Word of God and shows how biblical truth is fixed, unchanging, and written in the stone—Jesus Christ, the chief cornerstone.
Key Scriptures (KJV)
Psalm 118:21–24
1 John 4:7–11
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
John 14:6–7
Matthew 21:42–44
John 1:1–4
John 1:9–13
Ephesians 6:10–13
Daniel 2:34–35
1 Corinthians 10:1–4
Hebrews 13:5–6
Matthew 28:20
Daniel 2:44–45
Exodus 12:12
Exodus 3:13–14
All Scripture quotations are from the King James Version.
Word Study: “Stone”
Hebrew: אֶבֶן (eben) — “stone”
Meaning includes:
Common stone, precious stone, memorial stone
Tool, weapon, weight, or plummet
Sacred marker of God’s help and presence
Contained in eben are two words:
אָב (ab) — Father
בֵּן (ben) — Son
Father and Son are found in the word “stone.”
Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone, and He and the Father are one.
Song Focus
“In the Stone”
Written by Allee Willis, David Foster, Maurice White
Lyrics examined in light of Scripture include:
“Love is written in the stone”
“Truth is written in the stone”
“The light is shining”
“Strength is written in the stone”
“Never you’ll be alone”
Though written as a dance song, its words echo biblical truths about Christ as:
The Light of the world
The Rock of salvation
The Cornerstone rejected and exalted
The One who never leaves His people
Teaching Highlights
Truth is not shaped by culture—it is fixed by God.
Jesus is the stone the builders rejected, now the cornerstone.
The Light that shines is not philosophy—it is Christ.
Strength comes from the Lord, not self.
God’s promises are permanent and unchanging.
Daniel’s stone cut without hands points to Christ’s coming Kingdom.
No one stands neutral before the Stone—you either stand on Him or fall against Him.

Conclusion
Earth, Wind & Fire did not set out to teach Scripture. But God does not need permission to leave His fingerprint on human creativity. The song In the Stone speaks of love, truth, light, strength, and permanence—realities that belong fully to Jesus Christ.
Christ is the Stone.
He is the Cornerstone.
He is the Rock of salvation.
Truth does not change.
Truth does not bend.

Lesson Focus
Psalm 75 contains a statement that changes the entire timeline of judgment:
“When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.” (Psalm 75:2 KJV)
God does not begin judgment until He first “receives the congregation.” This lesson examines what that phrase means through Hebrew word study, Old Testament patterns, and New Testament doctrine—showing that Scripture consistently places the gathering of the Body of Christ before the outpouring of God’s wrath.
Key Scriptures (KJV)
Psalm 75:1–10
Genesis 1:14–16
Genesis 18:14
Exodus 23:15
Exodus 29:44
Genesis 5:24
Isaiah 26:20–21
1 Thessalonians 1:10
Romans 5:8–9
2 Corinthians 12:2–4
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18
1 Peter 1:4–9
Revelation 12:13–17
Revelation 7:9–14
Word Studies
Congregation – מוֹעֵד / מוֹעָדָה (moed / moadah)
Meaning:
Appointed time
Fixed season
Assembly
Solemn feast
Set gathering
First appears in Genesis 1:14 referring to God’s appointed seasons. It is later used for feast days and divine appointments between God and His people.
Receive – לָקַח (laqach)
Meaning:
To take
To carry away
To seize
To receive
To take up
Used of Enoch in Genesis 5:24—God “took” him before judgment came on the world.
Teaching Points
1. Judgment Waits for the Congregation
Psalm 75 shows a clear order:
God receives the congregation
Then He judges uprightly
Then the wicked are cut off
Then the righteous are exalted
Judgment does not begin until the congregation is taken.
2. God Works by Appointed Times
The word “moed” ties God’s actions to fixed divine appointments:
Creation (Genesis 1:14)
Abraham (Genesis 18:14)
Israel’s feasts (Exodus 23:15)
God’s dwelling with His people (Exodus 29:44)
The gathering of the Body of Christ will also occur at an appointed time.
3. Taken Before Wrath
Enoch was taken before the flood
Believers are delivered from wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10; Romans 5:9)
God hides His people until indignation passes (Isaiah 26:20–21)
The pattern is removal before judgment, not survival through it.
4. Paul Defines the Gathering
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 describes the catching away of the Body of Christ:
Dead in Christ rise first
Living believers are caught up
All meet the Lord in the air
This is meant for comfort
There is no comfort in enduring God’s wrath.
5. The Church and Israel Are Not the Same
The Church has a heavenly inheritance (1 Peter 1:4)
Israel faces Jacob’s trouble on earth
Revelation shows Israel on earth while a great multitude is already in heaven
God does not mix programs or promises
Distinctions That Must Be Kept
Rapture ≠ Second Coming
Church ≠ Israel
Grace program ≠ Kingdom program
Salvation now ≠ Endurance later
Rightly dividing the word of truth keeps these from being confused.
Core Message
Psalm 75 is not vague. It gives sequence:
God receives His congregation
Then judgment begins
This matches:
Enoch’s removal before the flood
Isaiah’s promise of hiding before wrath
Paul’s teaching of being caught up
Deliverance from wrath, not through it
Closing Truth
Salvation is already finished at the cross.
The Body of Christ is not appointed to wrath.
God will receive His congregation before judgment begins.
We return with Christ to reign with Him in glory.
That is not tradition.
That is the pattern of Scripture.

In Part 2 of The Kings of the Earth, Scott and John continue their biblical examination of the hidden power structures shaping the modern world. Scripture reveals that true authority does not begin in politics but in the spiritual realm, where unseen powers influence earthly rulers.
The Bible describes “the kings of the earth” as leaders who set themselves against God and His Christ. These rulers are driven by wealth, land, and power, seeking control of the world’s systems in preparation for the rise of the Man of Sin. Through financial dominance and real-estate control, they prepare to hand authority to the Antichrist.
This episode connects prophetic Scripture with present-day realities, exposing how fallen angels manipulate human leaders and how spiritual warfare shapes global events.
In This Episode:
The biblical meaning of “the kings of the earth”
How wealth and land ownership become tools of domination
The spiritual forces operating behind world governments
Why political change alone cannot fix a spiritual problem
The connection between financial control and the Antichrist
Fallen angels and their influence on earthly kingdoms
Why rulers seek immortality through technology and genetics
The coming judgment of the kings of the earth
God’s final offer of mercy before Christ returns
Scriptures Used (KJV):
Psalm 2; Micah 1–2; Luke 4:5–8; Luke 17:21–30; Revelation 17; Psalm 75; Psalm 94; Matthew 23; Daniel 10; Jeremiah 28; Psalm 102; Isaiah 61; Psalm 72; James 5; 1 Timothy 6; Revelation 14; Ephesians 6
Key Themes:
Earthly kingdoms are influenced by spiritual powers
Wealth is used as a weapon to control nations
The kings of the earth will surrender power to the beast
Pride and the pursuit of glory mirror Lucifer’s fall
Christ will overthrow every corrupt throne
Final Word: Downloadable Study Notes
The kings of the earth believe they are building a lasting empire, but Scripture declares their rule is temporary. Their power will be taken, their systems will fall, and Christ will reign over all nations.
This episode is a warning to rulers—and a reminder to believers—that no throne stands above the throne of Jesus Christ.

In this lesson from Unlock the Bible Now, Brother Scott Mitchell teaches from Proverbs 3:5–6, showing what it truly means to acknowledge the Lord in every part of life. Using the Hebrew word yâda‛—translated “acknowledge”—he explains that God is not calling for casual recognition, but for relational knowing marked by awareness, trust, and daily dependence.
This message traces the struggle between trusting God’s wisdom and leaning on human understanding, beginning in Genesis and continuing throughout Scripture. Brother Scott shows how choosing God’s way is choosing life, while man’s way leads to death. He connects this truth to Paul’s desire to “know” Christ, not as information, but as living fellowship.
Listeners are encouraged to move beyond acknowledging God only in church, crisis, or ministry, and instead to live with constant awareness of His presence—at work, at rest, in joy, and in hardship. The lesson also explains what it means to be filled with the Spirit, emphasizing gratitude, prayer, worship, and letting the peace of God rule in the heart.
This teaching calls believers to choose life by acknowledging the Lord in all their ways, trusting Him daily, and walking in close communion with Christ.
Key Scriptures (KJV):
Proverbs 3:5–7
Genesis 3:5, 22–24
Deuteronomy 30:19
Proverbs 14:12; 16:25

Who are the kings of the earth, and why do they consistently oppose the Lord and His Christ? Scripture makes it clear that these rulers—both seen and unseen—are united in rebellion against God, convinced they will never be held accountable for their actions.
In this episode, Scott Mitchell and John Potts begin a biblical examination of the kings of the earth as revealed throughout Scripture. From Psalm 2 to Revelation, the Bible describes a coordinated resistance to God’s authority involving earthly rulers, spiritual powers, and ancient false gods that demanded allegiance and sacrifice.
The discussion traces the meaning of “king” in Scripture, connecting ancient figures such as Molech and Milcom to the broader biblical pattern of dominion, idolatry, and spiritual rebellion. The hosts also examine how pride, deception, and the pursuit of power define these kings, culminating in their final confrontation with Jesus Christ.
While Scripture delivers a firm warning of coming judgment, it also extends a final call to repentance. Even the kings of the earth are not beyond redemption—yet their time is short.
Key Topics Discussed
The biblical definition of the “kings of the earth”
Psalm 2 and the coordinated rebellion against the Lord
The meaning of melek (king) in Hebrew Scripture
Molech and Milcom as ancient “kings” and false gods
Spiritual rulers working through earthly systems
Pride, power, and the illusion of unaccountable rule
God’s promised judgment on rebellious kings
Christ’s ultimate victory as King of kings
A final call to repentance before the Day of the Lord
Scripture References (KJV)
Psalm 2:1–12
Acts 4:19–28
Zephaniah 1:2–6
Amos 5:26–27
Psalm 62:4
Psalm 52:1–7
Psalm 64:1–10

Word Study
King – מֶלֶךְ (meh’-lek)
Meaning: king, ruler, one who exercises dominion
Molech – “king”
Milcom – “great king”
False gods associated with dominion, idolatry, and sacrifice
Conclusion
The kings of the earth—ancient and modern—are warned directly by Scripture. Their power is temporary. Their rebellion is recorded. Their judgment is certain. Yet, until the final moment, the door to repentance remains open.
Kiss the Son… for the King is coming.

Ezekiel 37 gives us one of the most striking visions in Scripture: the valley of dry bones. Many believe this prophecy was fulfilled when Israel became a nation again in 1948, but the Word of God points to something far greater—a future resurrection that only the Spirit of God can bring.
In this Bible study, Scott Mitchell walks through Ezekiel’s vision verse by verse, connecting it with prophecies in Daniel, John, Hosea, Romans, and Isaiah. The message reveals how the Spirit—ruach in Hebrew and pneuma in Greek—will one day breathe life into Israel’s graves. This isn’t symbolic or political; it’s the literal restoration of God’s covenant people at the return of Jesus Christ.
Key points include:
Why the Valley of Dry Bones is not about political restoration in 1948
The meaning of ruach and pneuma as breath, wind, and Spirit
How resurrection and being “born again” are inseparably tied to the Holy Spirit
The future covenant of peace promised to Israel under their true King, Jesus, being the basis of their regathering
Why the church must focus on proclaiming the Gospel rather than misinterpreting prophecy
Takeaway:
This study challenges modern assumptions and reminds us of God’s sure promises. When the Redeemer comes, the graves will open, the bones will rise, and Israel will stand alive in covenant with Christ. Until then, the call remains for all—Jew and Gentile alike—to turn to Jesus, the only way to eternal life.

In this Bible lesson, Brother Scott Mitchell teaches on the meaning of The Dead Husband, a powerful analogy from Romans 7. Just as a widow is freed from her husband’s law at his death, believers are set free from the law through the body of Christ to be joined to Him in grace.
Scott shows how the law, represented by Ruth’s late husband Mahlon, was weak and unable to bring righteousness. In contrast, Boaz—who represents Christ—redeemed Ruth, a type of the Gentile church. Through this beautiful picture, Scripture reveals that believers are no longer bound by the old covenant but are made alive in Christ.
Scripture References:
Romans 7:1–4; 1 Samuel 25:39–42; Deuteronomy 25:5; Matthew 22:23–30; Ruth 4:13–17; Isaiah 65:1–3; Romans 10:1–4; Revelation 22:12–13; Isaiah 44:6; Ruth 4:1–6; Matthew 21:33–39; Matthew 21:42–43; Romans 8:2–4; Hebrews 7:18–19;
Key Points
The Law as the Dead Husband: Paul uses marriage to show how the law’s authority ended through Christ’s death (Romans 7:1–4).
Ruth and Boaz as Types: Ruth, a Gentile, pictures the church; Boaz pictures Christ the Redeemer. The nearer kinsman, representing religious Israel, would mi not redeem her, but Boaz could (Ruth 4:1–6).
Israel’s Rejection of Christ: The Sadducees’ reliance on the law revealed their unbelief, but Jesus declared Himself the God of the living (Matthew 22:23–30).
Freedom in Christ: The law revealed sin but could not save. Christ fulfilled the law and nailed it to His cross (Colossians 2:13–14).
The Mystery of Marriage: Believers are joined to Christ, not by works of the law, but by grace through faith (Ephesians 5:30–32; 2 Corinthians 11:2).
Takeaway
Salvation cannot come through the works of the law, for the law was weak through the flesh. Only through Christ’s death and resurrection are we redeemed, justified, and free. He is the true Redeemer who brings righteousness and life to all who believe.
Reflection Questions:
How does Paul’s analogy of marriage in Romans 7 help us understand freedom from the law?
In what ways does Ruth’s redemption by Boaz illustrate Christ’s redemption of the church?
Where are you tempted to rely on your own works instead of resting in Christ’s finished work?

In this special Christmas message from the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell addresses the biblical meaning of Christ’s birth and corrects many of the assumptions that surround the modern celebration of Christmas. Scripture reveals that Jesus did not come to establish immediate peace on earth, but to make peace between God and men through His sacrificial death.
As another year closes and Christ has not yet returned, believers are reminded that we are living in the last days and are called to love His appearing. Jesus first came in humility—born in a manger, despised and rejected. He will appear again in majesty, power, and judgment to establish His kingdom and bring true peace to the earth.
This message carefully examines the biblical accounts in Matthew and Luke, clarifying common misunderstandings about the Nativity, the timing of the wise men, and the meaning behind their gifts. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh declare Jesus as King, High Priest, and Prophet, pointing directly to His suffering and death on the cross.
Scott also explains what “peace on earth” truly means according to Scripture—not peace among nations, but reconciliation between God and sinners through Jesus Christ. Salvation is offered freely by grace, not by works, and every person must choose whether to accept that peace now or face God’s coming judgment.
This Christmas message closes with a clear gospel call and an encouragement to be certain of your salvation, to live as an ambassador for Christ, and to look forward to His return.
Key Topics Covered
The true biblical meaning of Christmas
Christ’s first coming versus His second coming
Why Jesus did not bring peace on earth at His birth
The symbolism of the wise men’s gifts

Salvation by grace, not works
Loving and longing for Christ’s appearing

Matthew 10:34–36
Romans 5:1–2

Takeaway
Christmas is not simply a celebration of a birth—it is a declaration that God provided peace through His Son. Jesus first came to pay for sin. He will come again to reign. The question is not whether Christ will return, but whether you are at peace with God when He does.
Merry Christmas, and may the coming year find you secure in Christ and longing for His appearing.
