Médico de profissão, hoje reformado, o Dr Rui Melo Pato  foi o guitarrista de Zeca Afonso. Rui de Melo Pato nasceu em Coimbra a 5 de junho de 1946 e tinha apenas 16 anos quando começou a acompanhar à viola Zeca Afonso. Foi responsável pelos arranjos  em mais de 60 temas e em algumas dezenas de espetáculos.  Foi companheiro de música e de estrada daquele que para muitos é um  dos maiores símbolos da liberdade e da luta pela liberdade em Portugal…o Zeca. - A doctor by profession, now retired, Dr. Rui Melo Pato was Zeca Afonso's guitarist. Rui de Melo Pato was born in Coimbra on June 5, 1946 and was only 16 when he began accompanying Zeca Afonso on guitar. He was responsible for the arrangements of more than 60 songs and for dozens of shows.  He was the musical and road companion of what for many is one of the greatest symbols of freedom and the fight for freedom in Portugal... Zeca.
