SASQUATCH THEORY

Jeff grew up in Northern Michigan hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. He has visited every state park in Michigan, but three experiences in the woods and on the water have left him with questions that years of outdoor experience haven’t answered. As a child hiking near Metamora, Michigan, Jeff was with his brother and cousin when a powerful roar erupted from the forest. They ran—and heard a second roar as they fled. In July 2019, a camping and kayak fishing trip in Oscoda County, Michigan, brought another unsettling experience. Huge splashes broke the quiet of the lake, and Jeff describes logs being thrown into the water with a force and distance he believes were beyond human capability. His friends also witnessed the disturbance. Then, during a September camping trip in Wisconsin, Jeff and his girlfriend heard a strange, three-toned call from the forest. Breaking branches and heavy crashing and splashing in a nearby river followed. With king salmon in the area, Jeff wondered whether what they heard was there to feed. In this episode, Jeff recounts the experiences he connects to Sasquatch—and the uncertainty of encountering something unfamiliar in places where he has always felt at home. Living off-grid with her young daughter in Northern Michigan, Ashley began noticing things in the surrounding woods that she couldn’t explain. In this episode, she recalls a July 2026 evening when familiar coyote calls were followed by something very different. She also describes leaving flowers as a peace offering, only to find them rearranged, including one placed on a stump. Ashley shares stories from her homestead and a family trip to the Roscommon State Forest Area, where she encountered bent and arched pines. We discuss possible tracks, unexplained vocalizations, tree formations she believes change over time, and an inconclusive photograph she wonders might show a Sasquatch. Candice grew up on a Michigan dairy farm, surrounded by wildlife and a family familiar with hunting. But while walking her horse through woods adjoining a state forest, she says she encountered something she couldn’t explain: a figure she estimated stood six to eight feet tall, partially concealed behind a V-shaped tree, with its hands wrapped around the trunks. Her horse refused to go farther. Candice recalls struggling to see the figure’s features, describing its appearance as though it absorbed the light. Along with the sighting came a powerful feeling that she should leave. In this episode, Candice recounts that first encounter and the strange experiences that followed. She shares her brother’s report of something running toward him on all fours, an unnerving return to the trail, and what she describes as telepathic warnings to stay away. She also recalls a night in a woodland cabin when heavy, seemingly bipedal footsteps stopped outside her window, and the message she perceived felt protective rather than threatening. Her account ends years later in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where she sensed a large, dark presence outside the windows on a rainy night. An overpowering odor left her wondering whether it could have been the creature often called the Skunk Ape. Bent steel fence posts. Heavy blows against a backyard fence. And a strange clicking sound in the Canadian wilderness that reminded one witness of Predator. In this episode, Leslie from Texas shares a series of unexplained experiences that began in East Texas at a site she describes as an Indigenous burial ground. While there with a group, she heard what sounded like large animals moving nearby; sounds they initially assumed were cattle. Leslie also recounts unusual activity at her home in a busy, populated area, including bent steel fence posts with no tire tracks or obvious signs of human involvement. After discovering the damage, she says she began hearing something striking her backyard fence with what sounded like the force of a full-grown man. The conversation then takes us to British Columbia, where Leslie joined a research trip and describes hearing wood knocks, finding what she believed were Sasquatch footprints, and encountering a robotic clicking sound she attributed to an unseen creature. Michael and his family stopped at Wisconsin’s Lake Wazee to camp, fish, and enjoy nature. What followed was a series of experiences he still struggles to explain. An unusual absence of wildlife gave way to a horrifying dream of a strange hominid watching his family. The following night, his daughter suffered nightmares of her own. Michael recalls heavy breathing from the tree line, an urgent thought telling him to leave, and a sense that something terrible could happen if they stayed. By morning, he noticed a strange disturbance in the snow and marks along the side of their tent. In this episode, Michael also describes a possible translucent figure, sounds he interpreted as an unknown creature mimicking owls, and his belief that infrasound may have played a role. After bringing a rock home from the lake, he says frightening experiences began at his Minnesota home.
