50 States of Cinema examines movies with a unique focus on setting. Specifically, the states in which they’re set and the people who have lived there. Each week Adam Tinius (Entertain The Elk) is joined by a guest who talks about the good, bad and ugly of living in a particular state, and then they examine a movie from that same state to see what the filmmakers got right and wrong, and to see how the setting helps tell the story. Can states serve as a window into different worlds? Can learning about different cultures, histories and traditions help us better understand and empathize with people from all walks of life? 50 States of Cinema examines the movies we all love in a unique way. It focuses on story setting, specifically the states in which they take place. Why is the movie set there? How does the state help tell the story? What does the movie get right and wrong about the state's unique culture, history, mannerisms, etc.?
