Energize Appalachia is a production of the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development. COAD is a 51-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services for Ohio’s Appalachian counties in early childcare and education, AmeriCorps Seniors, home weatherization and energy efficiency, and more. We cover COAD’s programs in our communities and hear the stories of the impacted lives. We follow the energy that powers our community to the people and places who make it happen. Energize Appalachia focuses on the programs of COAD (Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development) and their impact on the communities in our region by speaking with the individuals who make it happen. In this episode, we talk about all things solar from COAD and the impact on our communities! We cover a wide range of topics, from solar programs for residential use to solar job training, and even exciting new programs studying the reuse of damaged and recycled panels.

In this episode, our central theme is the impact of our Weatherization Training Programs, and other partnerships in the region based out of our Training Center. We learn about Recovery Point in Parkersburg, meet our instructors, and go out on the job with a graduate of the training programs.
