Will Bowden, the Director of Baylor's BSM (Baptist Student Ministries), joins us to talk about prayer. Prayer is a foundational aspect of our faith and spiritual journeys. It’s how we communicate with God and tune our hearts to his will. Prayer is especially relevant to the spiritual life of college students, and Will is here to give his thoughts and advice. *** Follow Baylor Spiritual Life on Instagram and Facebook Visit our website to learn more about us Learn more about Will and BSM *** School Spirit: Faithful Conversations for College Students is hosted by Baylor University’s Office of Spiritual Life, and is meant to be a resource for students experiencing their faith in the university setting. Dr. Erin Moniz, Director for Chapel at Baylor University, joins us to talk about future calling. It’s common to hear students talk about their futures using language related to “calling”. Maybe you’ve heard someone say that they’re called to be a doctor, or called to be a lawyer, or called to go into ministry. Students use language like this because they are integrating their faith and connection to God with their future plans. But is this language always helpful? Do we need to modify the way we think about our future decisions? *** Follow Baylor Spiritual Life on Instagram and Facebook Visit our website to learn more about us *** School Spirit: Faithful Conversations for College Students is hosted by Baylor University’s Office of Spiritual Life, and is meant to be a resource for students experiencing their faith in the university setting. Dr. Burt Burleson, University Chaplain and Dean of Spiritual Life at Baylor University, joins us to talk about what we like to call "Big Tent Christianity". Baylor is a place where people from all kinds of Christian denominations and traditions come together in a collegiate setting. Whether someone identifies as Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, non-denominational, or anything in between, there is a place for them under the tent of Christianity. During your time in college, you are going to come across different ideas and traditions, some of which are going to be very different than what you’re used to. How are we supposed to approach these situations? *** Follow Baylor Spiritual Life on Instagram and Facebook Visit our website to learn more about us *** School Spirit: Faithful Conversations for College Students is hosted by Baylor University’s Office of Spiritual Life, and is meant to be a resource for students experiencing their faith in the university setting.
