Description

America, we gotta get back to doing what's expected of us as free citizens in this democracy. That means being tolerant, being respectful, staying informed, and being engaged. I'm former Congressman Joe Walsh. Follow me here and join the millions of Americans who are renewing their social contract with each other. The social contract. It's on us.

I sat down with long time political strategist Steve Schmidt to discuss this political moment, what Democrats need to do to meet this moment, and if they meet the moment and take back the House or the Senate, what they must do once they’re back in power. Fascinating chat. Have a listen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Two days ago, Trump unleashed the ugliest, most bigoted stuff about brown and black immigrants. About Somalian-Americans. And his entire cabinet just sat there and nodded. Yesterday, he unleashed even uglier stuff about Somalian-Americans. And the Congress people and business executives just stood there and nodded. Silence is complicity. The entire Republican Party owns his racism, bigotry, and cruelty. So every election for the foreseeable future must be about him. Period. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Democratic Party needs to learn to back candidates who can win. And a Democrat who can win in NYC is not a Democrat who can win in Alabama. I sat down with Kyle Sweetser, who, like me, is a new Democrat and is running for the U.S. Senate from Alabama. He’s the perfect candidate for that state. Hosted on Acast. Sure, Pete Hegseth was utterly unqualified for his job. But who hired him? Same goes for Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, RFK Jr, Tulsi Gabbard and so many more. But the person to blame for each of them doing the destruction they’re each doing is Trump. This administration isn’t in trouble because of the people around Trump. It’s in trouble because of Trump. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Five days later, and we still don’t know why the Afghan National shot two National Guard members in DC last Wednesday. But that hasn’t stopped the Trump administration from collective punishment - from banning all immigration from Afghanistan and other 3rd world countries. It’s a policy driven by fear. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Look, I think the person to blame for the shooting of the two National Guard members in DC is the shooter. But many want to blame the left or blame ALL migrants. Well, if you wanna play the blame game, blame Trump. For purely selfish reasons, he out the National Guard in DC and made them targets, sitting ducks. Hosted on Acast. I sat down with Professor Ilana Redstone (@irakresh) whose book, "The Certainty Trap," just came out. If you care about how dangerously divided this country is, you MUST read this book. Healing the divide goes well beyond civil discourse. To heal the divide, we must transform how we think. Have a listen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In most other “free countries,” citizens and politicians would be arrested for the much of the speech we take for granted here. Hate speech, bigoted speech, reckless speech, irresponsible speech. I’m always thankful to live in a country that allows all this speech. A country where, the answer to hate speech, isn’t to censor or outlaw it, but to defeat it/outshout it with other speech. As broken as our politics is in America, I’m still thankful this Thanksgiving that we still believe in free, fulsome, & unfettered speech. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
So DOGE is no more, DOGE has been officially disbanded. No spending cuts, no savings, just lives destroyed, America’s soft power crippled, hundreds of thousands killed, and your personal data stolen. People should be held accountable for all of this destruction. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Cut through all the noise and all the distractions and the only thing that matters is this: The President of the United States yesterday publicly called for the execution of six members of Congress. That happened. That actually happened. He’s a clear and present danger to this country. He must be removed. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
His case against James Comey is a disaster and will likely be dismissed, the Epstein files took a giant step closer to being released, and the American people are correctly blaming him singlehandedly for screwing up the economy. He’s having yet another bad week. Not a surprise. My weekly conversation with Michael Cohen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Saudi Crown Prince paid a visit to the Oval Office yesterday, and Donald Trump did what he always does when he’s in the presence of killers & dictators - he praised the Crown Prince, bowed to him, sucked up to him, and lied for him. Disgusting & embarrassing. And yes, a shit stain on the presidency. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I sat down with Lev Parnas, political activist & truthteller, to talk all things Epstein/Epstein files. Voting to release the files is now a train that Trump can’t stop, but Lev reveals Trump’s plan to make sure the public never sees what’s inside the files. Because Trump is afraid of what’s in there. Really afraid. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Don’t lose sight of what matters here. Donald Trump is doing everything he possibly can to keep the Epstein files hidden. Even coming out last night and telling the House to vote to release the files. It’s all an elaborate act. He and Pam Bondi will not allow the public to see those files. It’s a great cover up. I sat down with Susan Rice, former Ambassador to the United Nations and former National Security Advisor to discuss the growing authoritarianism in this country - what it is and what we must do to defeat it. A sobering, fascinating, but also hopeful conversation. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I’m serious. He’s a cheat, a serial adulterer, a rapist/sexual abuser, a felon, a traitor, a psychopath, an ignoramus, a bully, a fascist…I could go on and on. But on top of all the bad that Trump is, would it really matter to the American people if it turns out Trump is a pedophile too? Does personal character matter anymore? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I sat down with media and political historian Brian Rosenwald to discuss what this political moment in America means right now, what we can learn from history, and what is the future of both of our political parties. Fascinating conversation. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Trump lies as he breathes, and generally, his lies work. Lots of people, way too many, believe his lies - the “2020 stolen election” lie, the “they’re eating cats & dogs” lie. But his lies about the economy & affordability won’t work. Because we all LIVE the economy. We KNOW how much things cost. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

I live in SE Minnesota in Rochester, home of Mayo Clinic. There's a significant Somali population here. They are hard-working, family-oriented and as law-abiding as the generic population. My city is NOT a shit-hole. Minnesota has NOT been destroyed. It remains my favorite quadi-Scavndanavvian republic. Trump's performance in the Oval Office was truly horrifying and RACIST AS FUCK. I am the son of an Indian immigrant si,ply awaiting my turn in the barrel.

John's loud-mouthed belligerence is designed to disguise the weakness of his positions. I would never be able to keep this kind of conversation going.

Thanks for -how rare!- a respectful and meaningful discussion on Israel/Palestine. David tackles very difficult questions in an astute and fair way.

So racism is wrong, but racist trolling is fine. And condemning anything at all is just virtue signalling, except condemning a defensive war. Exasperating, just listening to all this. I admire Joe's stamina, doggedly driving this conversation.

I thought it kind of funny - Derek spent equivalent amounts of time obsessing about Bill Kristol to the time he spent objecting to folks obsessing about Trump!
