The Penn State Nittany Lions football team held a rare open practice on Thursday morning, during which the media got a chance to see a full day of on-field activity on Lasch Football Field. We’ll recap what we saw and what we learned today on the BWI Live show, today at 10 a.m. We’ll discuss the injury situation with the Nittany Lions, who are down their top two quarterbacks this spring period, and we’ll give our first impressions of how players look in pads after the last two months of development in the weight room. The Penn State Nittany Lions football team opened up spring practice on Tuesday with a morning session, followed by new head coach Matt Campbell’s first comments to the media of the spring. Next, we’ll pivot to a discussion from yesterday’s conversation with Campbell. Tuesday was the first time since the team hired new wide receivers coach Kashif Moore that Campbell discussed his decision to hire the former UConn receiver and coach. Penn State football starts spring camp next week, and the news around football recruiting is starting to flow. After several months of frustration for fans, will the team finally get movement in the Class of 2026? Donkoh will be out for the spring, following tight end Andrew Rappleyea, who posted a post-surgery photo at the end of February. The Penn State Nittany Lions football team starts spring football in just about three weeks so we’re getting fans ready with our spring preview of each position. So far, we’ve covered the running backs, defensive tackles, and pass catchers in the lead-up to the first spring football under new head coach Matt Campbell.
