Listen to the best interviews of the week, including Carl Banks, Metta World Peace and Pat Monahan of Train.
Chris McMonigle predicts Giancarlo Stanton will have a big year and a breakout season from Ben Rice. Plus, Willie Colon on Stanton’s health and how he likely approaches the season (11:57); C-Mac and Craig Carton discuss the fallout to Judge striking out in a big spot in the WBC (17:52); Evan Roberts reflects on the Joba Chamberlain saga and how the Yankees should handle Carlos LaGrange (35:47).
The Giants had a busy week, but a veteran minimum signing garnered the most attention in the re-signing of Evan Neal. Craig Carton ripped the move, while Evan couldn't believe the headline when he saw it on social media. Plus, Craig and C-Mac are stunned that the Colts are paying Daniel Jones big-time money.
The Jets have brought back Geno Smith as their starting quarterback, and Craig Carton went on an epic tirade lamenting the move. Plus, Evan Roberts is not happy with the decision, while Willie Colon, Smith's former teammate, breaks down how Smith was in the locker room and if he can regain his Seahawks form.
Willie Colon and Gio react to Geno Smith’s return to the New York Jets. Plus, Boomer and Gio on the Jets’ trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick (19:39); more on Geno Smith and reaction to Mike Francesa saying the Manning family will stop Arch from going to the Jets (27:58); Willie and Jerry Recco on expectations for the Giants and Jets following free agency (42:23); Willie and Gio on the Ravens backing out of the Maxx Crosby trade (56:40); reaction to the Mets planning to retire Carlos Beltran’s number (1:06:01)
A packed show with lots of different stuff today. We started with Geno Smith hyped to be playing with the Jets or anywhere. How will the Jets fare this year? C-Lo spends the show bouncing around from Mike Francesa's prediction that Arch Manning will be a Jet to the Wink v. Woody argument. Plus, Mark DeRosa keeps trying to explain as does Bam about his 83-point game, a Red Storm win and a Rutgers loss, and Kyler Murray off to the Vikings. Jerry and Willie also talk partying NFL players, the popularity of the WBC outside the US, and Bryce Huff's odd retirement. Lots of other stuff too both amusing and interesting.
It's Jerry and Willie today starting with a matured Geno Smith ready to take on the Jets QB job. How will the Jets fare this year? C-Lo is turning 40 but has time to bring us those Geno quotes. He's also got Mike Francesa predicting that Arch Manning will be a Jet. Also, Mark DeRosa just can't get his story straight. Finally, a caller is not thrilled with Geno and brings receipts.
The Pats partied rather hearty after their AFC Championship Win - so much so that the cops had to be called. Willie is not thrilled with players who party too hard but then can't play hard on the field. A caller praises Jerry before C-Lo brings us a couple of football notes including Wink Martindale blaming Woody Johnson for not being the DC. Also, some sad Jerry calls from the Rutgers loss. Eddie threatens to leave if the Kickoff to Summer show is made too much about him. Plus, Jerry on sleepy Uber drivers.
We started the hour with callers regarding staying awake during long drives before diving into how the WBC is quite popular with non-US countries. C-Lo pops in with more from the Wink v. Woody saga, including Willie's agreeing with the midday show over Carton. Also, Pat Riccard is a John Harbaugh loyalist, Kyler Murray is off to the Vikings, and Mark DeRosa is still explaining. We end the hour with the Jets long drought of good tight ends, and which all-time great films we've seen.
Loads of different stuff this hour starting with the Mets retiring Carlos Beltran's number, followed by Bryce Huff's surprise (and surprising) retirement announcement. C-Lo is in with a Red Storm win and Bam Adebayo's defense of his 83-point game. C-Lo covers all the bases and gets to a Moment of the Day featuring Willie's random thoughts. Then we get serious with the insanity of the Darron Lee story. Plus, we end on a good note as an influencer raised enough money so a DoorDash driver could retire.
C-Lo's got audio from that St. John's Red Storm win. Julio Rodriguez would rather win the WBC than the World Series. Also, Bam Adebayo and Eric Spoelstra defend Bam's 83-point game. Plus, a Willie's random thoughts Moment of the Day.
The Mets are set to retire Carlos Beltran's number this year. Plus, the Niners' Bryce Huff announces his retirement to go work in...fire suppression?
C-Lo's back and getting into the Wink Vs. Woody talk. Willie is more on board with what the midday show thinks than what Craig Carton believes. Also, Pat Riccard hearts John Harbaugh, Kyler Murray to the Vikings, and Mark DeRosa is still explaining himself.
There is clearly a lot of excitement outside the US, from fans and players, about the WBC.
Caller praises Jerry - which is nice for Jerry. C-Lo with Wink Martindale blaming Woody for his not being DC. Also some Giants notes as well.
Willie doesn't like players who party a lot but don't perform on the field.
Geno Smith says he's got years left in the NFL. Mike Francesa predicts Arch Manning to Jets. Mark DeRosa not quite sure about what happened with Team USA.

Geno said the right things and seems like he's got a mature attitude. What can the Jets do next season?

With Boomer and Gio out, and Jerry having connection difficulties, Willie and C-Lo kick off the show discussing the Knicks' shaky win in Utah, and Jerry’s travel struggles on his way to Chicago. The conversation shifts to the Giants' addition of Isaiah Likely, the Jets' offseason ceiling, and a look at the Yankees’ Spring Training success. The Ravens pivot to Trey Hendrickson following the failed Maxx Crosby trade. They discuss Mike Breen's comments on Knicks inconsistencies, and Vinny Pasquantino’s WBC performance. Finally, after debating Giancarlo Stanton’s health and reminiscing about jiu-jitsu, the show wraps up with a breakdown of O-line draft prospects and the possibility of an NFL Thanksgiving Eve game.
