If you know me, you know that one of my favorite things about podcasting is experimenting with the format and trying out new ways to deliver content. That's exactly what I'm doing with this show!I've been live streaming regularly on my YouTube channel, and recently, RSS.com released a game-changing feature called the "Live Item Tag" (LIT). This feature allows me to live stream directly to my podcast feed, which is a huge deal for people like me who love to repurpose their live streams. In Podcast Workflows Live, I'll be sharing my live streams from my YouTube channel and, over time, I plan to start using the live item tag to its full potential. My goal is to show you how you can improve your own podcast workflows by creating amazing content and giving your audience the flexibility to consume it in their preferred way.So, if you're ready to join me on this exciting podcasting journey, be sure to subscribe to Podcast Workflows Live wherever you get your podcasts. And if you're curious about live streaming your podcast, definitely check out RSS.com.

If you’ve been listening to podcasts for a long time, the idea of show notes is intuitive. It’s the text that accompanies a podcast episode. It usually has some description about the episode and links mentioned in the episode. But lately there’s been a question of show notes importance. So let’s explore what show notes are, why you need them, and how to create good ones.Originally streamed July 11th, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
A common problem I hear among podcasters is "no one shares the show/leaves reviews/sends in feedback." I always ask the same follow up: "Are you asking for it?" It's the same lesson I give my kids. Don't ask don't get. But there’s more to that. There are 4 things you should do to get feedback: Ask early.Ask often.Ask EVERYWHERE.And make it easy. And that’s what we’ll cover — including creating a workflow for getting better feedback. Originally streamed June 27th, 2024Join the mailing list: https://podcastworkflows.com/join
I've been thinking a lot lately about how to help people improve their podcast workflows, especially when it comes to figuring out what to automate or delegate. A lot of us worry that our specific ways of doing things are irreplaceable, but I’ve developed a helpful little framework called the P.E.R. Method. In this live stream, I’ll walk through the entire process, as well as take any questions you have!Originally streamed June 20th, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
Are you wasting time and energy on podcast interviews that just aren't delivering results? It's time to face the truth: interviews might be holding you back! In this live stream, we'll talk about why you need to ditch the interviews and go solo — from a content standpoint, a growth standpoint, AND a workflows standpoint.Originally streamed June 13th, 2024
Recently I got a question during a coaching call about how to keep listeners engaged. And what many podcasters don’t realize is this: Structure MATTERS. In this week’s live stream, I’ll break down all the ways you can structure your episodes to be more engaging, so your listeners stay longer — and maybe even recommend your show.Originally streamed June 6th, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
Should your podcast have seasons? Are seasons the same as breaks? Will you lose listeners if you do take a break? These are common questions I get from people who are trying super hard (maybe too hard) to not miss an episode — but seasons can be a good thing. So in this week’s live stream, we’ll answer these, plus any questions YOU have about podcast seasons and building in breaks.Originally streamed May 2nd, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
One of the weakest parts of my podcast workflow — while also being something I get the most questions on — is my post-publish promotion plan (try saying that 5 times fast). So I thought in this “build in public” live stream, I’d create a plan, as well as the workflows to support that plan.Originally Streamed April 24th, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com

Every podcast needs a good website — but with everything else you need to do for a podcast, the website might get put on the back burner. And while I was a web developer for 20 years before moving to podcasting, I’m all about optimizing my workflow — the less I need to do for my show, the better. That’s why in this live stream, I’m going to explore Podpage. Originally streamed April 3rd, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
I launched How I Built It nearly 8 years ago as a way for me to interview developers. Every episode included the all-important question, “How did you build that?” Well..I don’t interview developers anymore. And I haven’t asked the title question in years at this point. So it’s time: I’m changing the name of my podcast. Join me live to see me unveil the new name, as well as everything I’m doing to make sure the name change goes as smoothly as possible.Originally Streamed March 27th, 2024Learn more at https://podcastworkflows.com
Well, it’s time. After 4 years with my current podcast artwork, it’s time for a change. In this live stream, we’ll cover current best practices for artwork, come up with some concepts, and by the end, hopefully we’ll have something worth publishing.
