Heya SoloRolePlayers,  Jim has some exciting news he has just announced that starts in a mere couple of days and in celebration and support of that I wanted to bring his full interview over from the Patreon feed to here so that as many people as possible could hear about it and get involved.  A lot (but certainly not all) of this interview was included in the Beetle Knight [SPOTLIGHT] episode from the other week but this is still well worth the listen even if you heard that. If you want to just straight ahead to the announcement I will put a chapter in the episode (there's a first time for everything) and you can also check out what its all about on the Brooklet Games Website. Hope you enjoy, -PJ
Hello and Welcome Back to the Solo RolePlayers Podcast.  Today on the show we are trying something a little different as I present to you this fantastic bug sized role playing game. This game is our months highlight for the topic: free/affordable games.  If you want to hear the full extended 90 min [ACTUAL PLAY] and the full hour long [INTERVIEW] with Jim Hall, you can join up as a FREE member over on the SoloRolePlayers Patreon and listen over there. You can check out Beetle Knight over at Brooklet Games for one of the beautiful hand made copies (which I highly recommend) or head over to Itch.io for the PWYW digital/printable version. The format of this episode was a bit of a spontaneous experiment. Its not something I'm going to do all the time but I had a lot of fun putting it together but I'm too close to it to tell how well it holds together. If you wouldn't mind, take a moment to send me a quick email to soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com to let me know what you think. Hello and Welcome back to The Solo RolePlayers Podcast. Today on the show I am keen as mustard to bring out another new format for a spin.  That first look, first touch, first flick of a new RPG is a magical experience. You (or at least I) skin things, stop at cool art, let out a 'wicked' under your breath for some fangled new dice mechanic, and let the beginnings of your first potential story in this game start to bubble up in your imagination.  Not quite review, (definitely) not quite tutorial, my goal with this format is to give you a bit of a feel for what this game might be like to play and how I think about new systems and settings when i'm getting ready to play in them for the first time.  Enjoy! - PJ You can get in touch with me on: soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com, PJSack on Reddit/Bluesky or better yet join the SoloRolePlayers Patreon where a free membership will get you access to the community chat and my public newsletters   At the SoloRolePlayers Tier you get at least 1 (usually its 2) bonus episodes a month where I continue playing through the games introduced on the show, a regular bookclub/gameclub meet-up, access to the discord, and connect with celebrity guests.   You can leave me a voice mail with questions, ideas, experiences or just to say g’day at https://www.speakpipe.com/SoloRolePlayers   Links & Recs If you like this show you might like to check out the podcast that started it all, my Fallout Narrative Solo-RPG Audio Drama A Wasteland Story   Creators that helped me discover this weird and wonderful hobby: Man Alone Boardgames with Thomas - Fallout Series Geek Gamers The Dungeon Dive Lords of the Dungeon (The Secret Cabal) Girls Who Don’t DnD Me Myself & Die   Reading Materials that helped me figure out what the hell I am doing: Mythic GM Emulator 2E Solo Game Masters Guide - geekgamer   Music and Sound Effects in this series are credited to: Epidemic Sound

Hello and Welcome Back to The SoloRolePlayers Podcast. Today on the show, in preparation for the official, one and only, never to be repeated first episode of season 2 of the show (nearly finished but not quite) I bring to you today an ancient recording found collecting dust, presumably in some moldering tomb or another, a play I did way back in the early years of the lovely little game Cartograph.  This is not your heart-wrenching, stomach-churning, drama heavy playthrough, but rather a very cozy walk through this book. Part play, part tutorial, part unboxing.....now that I edit it I realise it is foreshadowing of things to come..... all map drawing, so with that mysterious inkling out of the way, in anticipation for the new season, sit back, relax and enjoy an early years episode from that guy who plays games solo for some reason...PJ

Enjoyed episode 1. It was interesting hearing about PJ and also the interviewee, Man Alone. You have an easy to listen to voice. Also enjoyed the birthday episode with a fascinating topic about failure. Thanks PJ!

If you like playing RPGs solo, or never have but are curious, then this is the podcast for you. PJ, the host, interviews luminairies from across the solo roleplaying scene, as well as showcasing how he plays solo with some excellent actual plays of various systems. Highly recommended!
