I’m Laura Shaw, a Christian Life Coach, Trauma and Grief Mentor, mom of four, widow, and follower of Jesus. For years, I tried to push through my grief alone, thinking I had to be strong for everyone else. It wasn’t until I surrendered my pain to God and leaned into His promises that true healing began. Now, I help others through their grief and struggles, walking alongside them as they rediscover hope, joy, and purpose with God at the center.

What happens when life changes, but God remains faithful?
In this tender, reflective episode, Laura Shaw invites you to slow down and explore a quieter, more honest version of gratitude, the kind that doesn’t bypass grief, rush healing, or demand optimism.
Through personal reflection, Scripture (Hosea 6:3), and a gentle framework for honoring the past, present, and future, this conversation creates space for those navigating transitions, loss, and the bittersweet beauty of becoming.
This episode is for anyone learning how to hold joy and ache at the same time, and wondering how to notice God’s goodness without denying what still hurts.
If you want to go deeper…
Here are the prompts discussed in this episode:
1. What do I miss that I’m still grateful for?
2. What has God given me in this season that I wouldn’t have noticed before?
3. What part of me is growing because life looks different now?
4. Where is the dawn showing up in my life?
5. What am I learning to receive with open hands?
Use these as gentle invitations, not assignments.

Have you ever felt like you don’t fit anywhere anymore? Like the rooms you used to belong in suddenly feel too small, and the new ones don’t quite feel like home yet?
This episode is for the woman standing in the in-between. The one who’s changed, healed, outgrown, and maybe even grieved her old life, but still isn’t sure where she fits in this new one.
We’re talking about what it means to:
✨ Outgrow what once felt like home
✨ Grieve what no longer fits
✨ Stand in the middle of “used to be” and “not yet”
✨ Learn to be loved, deeply and fully, without needing a label to prove it
Because maybe love was never meant to come from a title at all. Maybe it was always meant to come from presence, from the quiet knowing that you are already seen, chosen, and loved by God, even here.
If you’ve ever wrestled with the ache of change, the silence of healing, or the loneliness of becoming, this one will meet you right where you are.
You’ll walk away reminded that:
💗 You’ve changed, and that’s not a problem, it’s proof.
💗 Love doesn’t need a label to be legitimate.
💗 The woman you’re becoming is worth meeting.

When Culture Feels Louder Than Conviction
Scripture: Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
In a culture that glorifies noise, obsession, and imitation, how do we stay grounded in truth?
In this powerful episode, Laura dives deep into the tension between culture and conviction, exploring how influence, music, and modern love are shaping our hearts more than we realize.
Using Proverbs 4:23 as her anchor, Laura unpacks what it really means to guard your heart, not from fear, but from confusion. She shares how discernment protects your peace, why holiness still matters in a world that calls it outdated, and how to stay soft without settling.
If you’ve ever felt the pull between what culture celebrates and what God calls sacred, this episode will help you realign your heart, renew your mind, and rediscover the stillness that leads to strength.
Plus, Laura shares an exciting announcement, three new one-on-one coaching spots for women who are ready to rediscover love after loss and step into a new season of wholeness, healing, and hope.
👉 Listen now to learn how to live anchored, awake, and discerning in a world that wants you distracted, and to guard your heart not from love, but for it.

I Still Can’t Believe This Happened
When life flips overnight and faith feels fragile.
One day it was dinner plans.
The next day it was a funeral.
That’s how fast life can flip.
In this episode, I’m sharing the raw, unfiltered side of grief, the disbelief that sneaks up years later, the ache that lingers in ordinary moments, and the truth that grief doesn’t mean you’ve failed at faith. We’ll walk through the story of Thomas, the disciple who couldn’t believe without seeing, and discover how Jesus meets us in our own places of doubt and devastation.
If you’ve ever whispered, “I can’t believe this is my life,” this conversation is for you. Together we’ll explore one simple practice to begin breaking the silence, and the hope of a God who shows up, not with shame, but with scars.

So many of us try to outrun grief, filling our days with busyness, wearing the mask of strength, reciting the platitudes people hand us. But here’s the truth: avoiding your grief won’t heal you. It only delays the inevitable.
In this raw and compassionate episode, Laura shares her own story of trying to stay “strong” after loss, the ways avoidance backfired, and what it looked like to finally stop running. Through real-life moments, a stoplight breakdown, the absurdity of IRS widow paperwork, and the biblical story of Elijah under the broom tree, she brings both honesty and hope.
This is a candid conversation for anyone who’s been avoiding pain, numbing it, or pretending it’s not there. You’ll leave with practical tools, tender encouragement, and the reminder that God is not afraid of your collapse.
Listen in, and let’s face grief together, not as something to avoid, but as the place where healing begins.

Certain dates don’t just stay on the calendar, they live in our bodies. For me, it’s my late husband Joe’s birthday. For you, it might be an anniversary, a diagnosis date, or the day someone walked away. These moments have a way of stirring what our hearts can’t forget, no matter how many years pass.
In this episode of Healing Journeys with Jesus, I’m sharing the weight of those hard dates, the legacy Joe left behind, and the ways I’ve learned to carry both grief and hope forward. From strawberry cake and Georgia Bulldog football to the silence of birthdays without him, I’ll open up about what these days feel like and how I’ve found God meeting me in the middle of them.
Together, we’ll talk about:
Why certain dates trigger waves of grief and how our bodies often remember before our minds do.
Practical, grace-filled ways to navigate painful anniversaries.
How legacy is not just what someone leaves behind, but what we carry forward.
How God turns the weight of grief into a witness of His sustaining grace.
Whether you’re marking a birthday, anniversary, or any date that still aches, this episode will remind you: hard days don’t erase hope. They deepen it.

What do you do when the very thing you need to live out your calling feels threatened?
In this premiere episode of Season 2, Laura Shaw returns to the mic with a story she never expected to tell, the battle for her voice. After a thyroid surgery that risked silencing her words, Laura opens up about the fear, the stillness, and the lessons God pressed deep into her heart.
Through Scripture, reflection, and raw honesty, she reminds us that our purpose is not fragile and our identity is not dependent on circumstances. Even when life burns to the ground, God meets us in the ashes and begins again.
This episode launches a new season of Healing Journeys with Jesus: a season about reclaiming identity, walking in empowerment, and rebuilding life after loss with grit, grace, and gratitude.
If you’ve ever wondered whether God could still use you when everything feels uncertain, this conversation is for you.

What happens when He asks us to leave behind what’s familiar before we have all the answers?

We all reach moments in life where we know we need to move forward—but fear keeps us clinging to what’s familiar.

Listen in as I chat with one of my very best friends, Amanda. She and I met through a shared experience of pain in the context of small group, and became fast friends.

In this first episode, I have the honor and privilege of sharing our story through the lens of my son, Andrew.
At just the tender age of 16, he was present when we found his dad gone, and was very quickly forced to become a man.
I know that you will hear this in everything he shares in this episode.
To say I'm proud to be his mom is a understatement, but I'll leave it at that.
His heart for Jesus is so beautiful, and this episode shares a fraction of his faith.
I hope you enjoy.

If you’ve ever wrestled with these questions, this episode is for you.
Grief has a way of becoming part of our identity. It wraps itself around us, making us believe that staying in sorrow is the only way to honor what we’ve lost.
But here’s the truth: Healing does not erase love—it honors it.
