I'm so excited to talk all about fine art prints and the journey I have taken over the last four years, from incredible FLOPS and incredible triumphs which led me to put all of my experience into a downloadable print guide. In this episode I talk about my first set of prints that did okay, the second set of prints that flopped so spectacularly that they ended up in the bin and subsequent print drops with mixed results. I discuss my experience with getting digital files made, printing at home and using a professional service. I hope you enjoy listening to my story and if you are keen to get started, here are the links to my print guide:Download the full 93 page guide hereNot ready to commit? Off the back of my first curated art fair, I wanted to talk openly and honestly about my experience. I talk about the difference between art fairs and trade fairs, the price of original pieces and a new lesson I learnt in selling prints in person. Maybe it was too honest.. but I'm here to be authentic and transparent about the realities of building an art business! After a (sort of) exciting announcement and a bit of a life update, in this episode I delve specifically into what it's like running a business solo whilst also being a parent. I'm not fluffed the reality in this one, but I do offer real honest advice about how to juggle it all. This week I interviewed fellow equestrian artist and Mum, Rhia about her life running her art business. Rhia has been in the business for 10 years and was so successful, she was able to get a mortgage with the money she earned from drawing horses! I have learnt so much from this conversation and I'm excited for you to listen.Rhia's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/artbyrhiaBusiness Advice For Artists!Download a free sample of my print guideView My Stan StoreFollow Me On Instagram Hosted on Acast. I hit rock bottom and realised that what led me to this point wasn't just my toddler going through the terrible 2's, but putting pressure on myself to post every single day. After some self reflection I've re-considered what consistency can look like for me in my current life at home and work. In this episode I share some ideas on how you can make small consistent incremental changes to your day to have a compound effect over time.Thank you so much for listening. It's been 6 months since I've been completely self employed (and 5 years since I started my art business). After a week of socialising with new and old friends for my sister's wedding, one key phrase kept coming out of my mouth - I'm so happy. I wanted to reflect on this and bring you an honest episode all about being self employed, both the great parts and the challenges. Please subscribe to my podcast and leave me a review - I'd love to know your opinions on this topic. For my first ever guest interview, I chatted to equine photographer Martha Lily about her own business journey which started aged 15! I took so much away from this interview, including:How to set boundaries and limitations when working with clientsPutting yourself in your clients shoes to help with content creationNot having a routine can be a blessingHaving the mentality of 'done is better than perfect' will ease the risk of burnout (and still lead to an award!!)Martha takes me through her journey from taking on the event photography side of her business from an early age, branching into client shoots and also going back into full time education whilst running a business. Martha has so many good points to raise about what it's truly like being self employed and some valuable advice when it comes to working with clients.I truly loved this conversation (and I loved being an interviewer!). When I started my art business, I had no idea how important packaging was… but it can honestly make or break the customer experience (and your work!). Whether you’re sending a small package of ceramics or a huge original piece of art, there are ways to protect your work without breaking the bank.In this episode of Creative CEO, I’m sharing everything I’ve learnt about:Packaging fragile artworkWhy I never ship framed glass piecesCouriers I trust (and ones I don’t!)Flat vs rolled packagingIf you're selling art or homeware online, this one's a must-listen. It’ll save you time, stress, and hopefully a few broken parcels 🙈Business Advice For Artists!Download a free sample of my print guideView My Stan StoreFollow Me On Instagram Hosted on Acast. Everyone's journey is different and mine from art student to full time artist didn't go the way you may think it did. I have gone completely full circle and landed back into being an artist, but it took various turns and bumps in the road to get here. Along the way I studied Graphic Design, dabbled in Interior Design and up-cycling furniture, nearly started a wedding stationery business but landed in teaching. From then on, I made it my mission to run my own art business and this journey is what I talk about in this episode.Business Advice For Artists!Download a free sample of my print guideView My Stan StoreFollow Me On Instagram Hosted on Acast. My brain is constantly lying to me. Ever since I quit my job, it has been telling me that 'if I'm not working, I'm not earning' and I know that this is a toxic mindset which has to change. In this episode, I let Chat GPT be my therapist and discuss how I can shift from this mindset. I also discuss reframing what passive income means in terms of running a solo business and set actionable steps that you can do today to stop yourself from feeling like you should always be working.I hope this episode can help people if you're feeling stuck in this mindset too.Find me on socials!INSTAGRAM @georgieturnerartistFACEBOOK @georgieturnerartistTIKTOK @georgieturnerartistWEBSITE www.georgieturnerartist.co.ukEMAIL georgie@georgieturnerartist.co.ukBusiness Advice For Artists!Download a free sample of my print guideView My Stan StoreFollow Me On Instagram Hosted on Acast. After an unplanned break (thanks to chickenpox and a hectic event prep), I’m back to chat about my weekend at the National Equine Show! From live drawing on my stand to stepping into someone else’s, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone—and it’s given me the absolute buzz for live drawing. I’m sharing what went well, what I’ll tweak for next time, and why these big events are about so much more than just sales.
