Description

Welcome to 'Uneven Ground.' I'm your host, Becca and I have been working with Israelis, global Jewish communities, and the international community for over a decade to educate on how the system of occupation functions. In a moment when biased and inaccurate information is easily spread online and in person, my goal is to bring clear, well-sourced information and quality in-depth education to my communities so that we can bring an end to the occupation and work towards a just, dignified, and equal future for Palestinians and Israelis. This podcast connects between Israeli politics and the material reality of the occupation through the lens of an Israeli educator and organizer.

This episode was recorded back in December of 2024 and I am sharing it now because there is a lot of (necessary and deserved) buzz around Masafer Yatta and the documentary "No Other Land" which won an Oscar for best documentary of 2024. The documentary was recorded before the October 7th attack, and I believe this conversation highlights the change in the intensity in violence in Masafer Yatta since then. In this conversation, activist and local Masafer Yatta tells his story and that of his village and community.Support Masafer Yatta:https://cjnv.org/masaferyattafundFollow residents and organizers:https://www.instagram.com/ali_awad98/https://www.instagram.com/basilaladraa/https://www.instagram.com/hamdan_mo_balall/https://www.instagram.com/eidu_suleman/ Get full access to Uneven Ground at beccastrober.substack.com/subscribe
