The Avalanche had their 17 game home winning streak snapped against the Toronto Maple Leafs in a overtime loss, but are getting a much needed few days of rest after 6 games in the last ten days. The Avalanche continue to roll at home with their 17th straight win, shutting out the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 with Trent Miner's first career win. Even in a game where their stars are held point less, the Avs depth is still able to come through and dominate. The trade deadline rumors are beginning to swirl as some teams spiral out of control, could the Avs do any big game hunting before the deadline?

After their first two straight regulation losses of the season, the Avalanche kicked off a seven game homestand with a 8-2 embarrassment of the Ottawa Senators on the back of Josh Manson's best game of his career and a Gordie Howe hat trick. Additionally, the Avs are finally getting to play another outdoor game as they head to Utah to play the Mammoth in the 2027 Winter Classic.

The health of Gabe Landeskog immediately became the top priority for the Avs in just their third regulation loss of the year against Florida, but it seems they avoided the worst case with an upper body injury. Additionally, Toews and Blackwood will also some miss some time. The loss to Florida comes on the heels of another great comeback win over the Hurricanes, with the powerplay finally coming through. Team USA also named their Olympic roster, and it sucks, but Brock Nelson made it so it's fine.

2025 has come to a close, and what a run it's been for the Avalanche since October, as the first team in NHL history to hit 30 wins before the new year. Blackwood and Wedgewood being snubbed from Team Canada couldn't the new years spirit, as the Avalanche got to embarrass Jordan Binnington who was selected instead in front of the GM who picked him, running the Blues out of the building with a 6-1 dominant win. With Nathan MacKinnon hitting 400 goals as well, there's so much greatness to reflect on as we head into 2026.

Even when the Avalanche don't play their best, they just find a way to lose, winning their first shootout of the season as they comeback from three separate deficits in their first game back from Christmas break against Vegas. If the Avs can't even lose to other good teams when they're not even fully into the game, can anyone reasonably be expected to stop them?

It had to happen at some point. It is now 9 straight wins for the Avalanche after back to back shutouts over the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks, despite scoring just two goals on a goalie in six periods of play. This is now becoming a hilarious streak where the Avs just keep winning no matter what, and are already creating a massive gap between them and the rest of the NHL at the quarter mark of the season.
