In this episode, I sit down with Valentin Garcia, a luxury real estate professional based in Tampa with deep roots in entrepreneurship and constant self-improvement and self-discovery. We talk about Tampa’s evolving real estate market (baby Miami?), preserving the charm of historic neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Bayshore, and what he's learned working with Ryan Serhant (Owning Manhattan). Valentin shares insights on how experiences in a fast paced sales-driven industry has shaped his perspective on value, integrity, and client relationships. We also share our thoughts on the balance of documenting and recording moments for social media content, niche marketing, and developing an authentic persona. Valentin brings a thoughtful, down-to-earth energy to the conversation, keeping it honest & transparent about getting to the next levels of wealth, success, and luxury real estate.
Enter the breakup: It’s that feeling when you’re sitting across the table from someone. You can hear every clink of the fork, on the ceramic bowl. The subtle crash of the Apopa glassware and the liter sized glass filled to the top with the city’s finest tap, or the restaurant’s best purified. There’s that aching tension of knowing, this ends tonight. But breakups are rarely just about one person. It also feels like entering into a room with familiar, and new faces, getting that quite harsh, abrupt feeling that you’re not wanted there and haven’t been in a while. It’s working on a highly produced project, and knowing that the synergy between you and the other project lead left the building a long time ago. It’s being in a house that no longer is your home. Breakups are hard hitting, but through it, there’s that airy breakthrough. New wings and better habits emerge. In this podcast, we’re getting raw, touching on relationship breakups, releasing the people, places, things, career paths, jobs, and mind frames that no longer fit us. In this solo episode, Kaylan reflects on the lessons learned in her youth and early twenties, from a creative, multifaceted lens. She reads pages from her past diaries, and archived blog posts from The Visionary Boss circa 2016/2017. Kaylan also touches on how the creative details, aesthetics, texture, and heart of past media, including Sopranos, Christopher Scott Cherot's 1997 movie 'Hav Plenty', and how visionary director/producer Mara Brock Akil reminds her to create 'lived-in' moments for future art. Oh, and she talks about how the All American Rejects' revival and grassroots live show approach reinforces the importance of accessibility, practicality and creating space for niche community. If you need to remember anything at all: less prompts, more real, less commodification & conforming, and more creating from your inner child.
