This week we’re recording on the eve of our long-awaited trip - and let’s just Louise and Ryan approach holidays VERY differently...We chat honestly about how travelling as parents hits differently, the mental load of planning, and why even a dream getaway can come with nightmares (literally).Louise opens up about adjusting to life with a stoma bag and how it’s impacted confidence around things like swimwear and holidays, while Ryan shares what it’s been like supporting from the sidelines. We also finally dive into love languages and how those differences can affect us. Add in our  Type A vs Type B approach and… yes, there are clashes. One thing we do agree on - the online storm surrounding the Bonnie Blue viral pregnancy story and what it says about the world our children are growing up. We also share where our heads are at when it comes to future family planning and the difficult decisions that come with it during uncertain times.🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? This week on He Said, She Said, we’re chatting all about sleep habits, mums, and welcoming a very special (and very small) guest to the podcast…We kick things off with a catch-up on our trip to Scotland and what travelling with a four-year-old is really like. Then we dive into a surprisingly heated debate about sleep… which leads to talking about our own sleeping habits, snoring accusations, and whether couples should ever share a bed in the first place. With Mother’s Day around the corner, we spend some time reflecting on mums - from embarrassing childhood moments and the things we definitely took for granted, to the moment you realise your mum is just… a person. And finally… please welcome our youngest guest ever. Leo joins the pod to give his honest review of what mummy is really like at home and we put mum vs dad to the test in a game to see who actually knows Leo best.Spoiler: the answers are not what we expected.🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? Louise’s dad, Mike Thompson, joins us as our very first guest! From what Louise was really like growing up, to sibling rivalries with Sam, suspensions and a very disciplined upbringing, Mike gives us a glimpse into what life was like in the Thompson household. We also discuss why he carries quail’s eggs, how becoming a grandfather has softened him, and his advice for Louise and Ryan as they try for their second child. But the moment everyone will be waiting for: Mike has never watched Made in Chelsea. So we show him the iconic bridge scene with Louise and Spencer Matthews. His reaction is not what we were expecting…We also put him to the test with Love Island, Gen Z slang, BuzzBallz, and finally the ultimate question from listeners: who is his favourite child, Sam or Louise?--(00:00) Big Mike Enters the Studio(02:25) The Infamous Wallet and Quail’s Eggs(05:01) Mike’s Old School Discipline(10:20) Cleanliness Quirks and Daily Routines(17:31) Why Did Louise Punch Her Dad Up the Eiffel Tower?!(22:13) Mike Has Never Watched Made in Chelsea(32:30) Mike’s Reaction to THAT Made in Chelsea Bridge Scene(35:45) Is It OK for Men to Show Emotion?(38:30) Mike’s Rant on Love Island(39:06) Mike Tries to Decipher Gen Z Slang(44:09) Mike Tries a Buzz Ball for the First Time(47:26) Mike’s Best Life Advice(49:10) Who Is the Favourite Child: Sam or Louise?(50:00) Mike’s Advice for Louise and Ryan as They Grow Their Family(54:05) Mike’s Final Words… “What’s He Said, She Said”--🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? Sam is out of surgery and Louise goes to pick him up, expecting it to be funny. However, seeing him on vocal rest, with the roles reversed, feels very different to what she imagined. We get into the unexpectedly sweet and slightly strange things we love about each other. Louise admits she likes Ryan’s BO, and Ryan shares a small habit of Louise’s she’d rather keep private. Then come the letters. A whole bag from Louise’s past. She reads from her diary at 18, written just before her first breakup, including “tips” she gave herself nearly twenty years ago. Do they still ring true?We finish with Ryan. Why he’s taking on another Ironman, what’s behind it, and the reaction to Montana’s recent comments about parents going away, which opens up a bigger conversation about whether you’re allowed to choose yourself once you’re a parent.--[00:00] Coming up on this episode[00:30] Sam Thompson's surgery and recovery[05:08] How Louise felt seeing Sam in hospital[11:01] What is cuffing season?[22:13] Should you talk about exes with your partner?[27:30] Louise reads her old diary from eighteen[34:04] How do girls process emotions compared to boys?[38:15] Why Ryan is undertaking another Ironman?[43:58] Our thoughts on Montana Brown critiquing absent celebrity dads[46:08] Next week…Louise's dad joins the podcast!--🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? Louise has a foot fetish fan club?! Apparently so. It also reminded her of the time Lily Allen tweeted about her back when she was on Made in Chelsea… and let’s just say Louise was not pleased. Then we turn to Molly-Mae, reflecting on her announcement of her second baby. We share our thoughts on navigating pregnancy and public life, and the difference in how Ryan and Louise experience sharing personal news in the spotlight. Louise opens up about how emotionally challenging it was to come to terms with her changing body, shifting identity within the world of social media. We also address the adoption comments we’ve received, explaining why it’s not the path we’ve chosen right now and why that feels right for us.And we end our conversation discussing declining birth rates and why blaming women…looking at you, Steven Bartlett…isn’t helping. Louise shares how her work is actively challenging outdated ideas, and Ryan reflects on why it’s so important for future generations.--(00:00) Coming up on this episode…(00:30) Louise’s secret foot fan club exposed(02:45) Why did Lily Allen tweet about Louise?!(04:30) Why Louise is mortified by her dad(09:35) The fear of becoming embarrassing parents to Leo(10:40) What gives Louise the ick about Ryan…(16:30) Louise’s oral hygiene ick(18:22) Our honest thoughts on Molly-Mae’s pregnancy(26:30) Why Louise struggled with how she looked while pregnant(29:45) Navigating pregnancy in the spotlight(32:30) Why we’ve chosen not to adopt right now(36:59) Our reaction to Steven Bartlett’s birth rate conversation(43:46) Andrew Tate and the misogyny debate(45:30) Louise’s maternity commissioner petition(51:45) Why Ryan is so proud of the impact Louise is making(52:20) Final thoughts--🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? Louise and Ryan are going on their first date. Well, not technically their first ever, but one ten years after their first. Dressed up and ready to impress, they’re pretending it’s day one all over again.Over starters, they rewind to their actual first impressions and that very unexpected first date. They talk about what they love most about each other, what men really look for in a woman, and whether they’d swipe right on each other if dating apps had been a thing back then.As the mains arrive, things get a little deeper. Valentine’s Day comes up, along with the pressure that can sit around it and how romance looks different when you’re parents. They talk honestly about making time for each other, whether that means scheduling it in or keeping things spontaneous, and how ten years later they’re still figuring out how to keep things exciting.By dessert, there are gifts, a little unexpected ex chat including a Made in Chelsea Valentine’s breakup reveal, and a very sweet surprise from Leo for Mummy that brings it all back to what really matters.--(00:00) We’re Going on a First Date With Each Other! (01:17) What we think of each other’s First Date Outfits(03:27) Our Brutally Honest First Impressions of each other (05:06) What Men Really Look for in a Woman(14:06) We Create Hypothetical Dating Profiles(20:00) The Pressure and Expectations Around Valentine’s Day(21:12) The Origin Story of Valentine’s Day(24:30) Louise’s Dream Valentine’s This Year(28:50) The Valentine’s Break Up from Made in Chelsea…(29:07) What No One Tells You About Life After Having Kids(43:32) The Wuthering Heights Drama between Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie (46:34) Our Valentine’s Gift Exchange(52:42) Leo’s Valentine’s Surprise for Louise(54:50) The end of our date…🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? Ryan and Louise kick things off with a new favourite word of the week, a very creative term for “down there”, which quickly sparks a conversation about crossing swords, body hair, and Ryan being put to the test on whether he actually knows the difference between a pad and a tampon.Things then take a more personal turn as Ryan opens up, for the first time, about a journey he’s quietly been on over the last few months. He speaks honestly about his decision to have a hair transplant, how it’s made him feel, and why talking about it openly matters to him, especially if it helps open up more honest conversations around confidence and self-image for men.We also share where we are on our surrogacy journey, opening up about what the process has really looked like behind the scenes. Louise speaks candidly about why she can’t carry her own baby, and we talk about our next steps in navigating this journey together. 🗓 New episodes every Wednesday📩 We’ve got a NEW email!Want to get involved? What an amazing podcast. As the mother of 2 boys with very different personalities, it was particularly fascinating to hear Ryan talking about how he felt/ feels. We make so many assumptions about people and I did this to my eldest sons cost. One assumes that kids are pretty much all the same but it wasn't until my son was 21 that we discovered he has ADHD and that he has been masking to fit in until his anxiety became so bad he could barely function. Love you both and please keep sharing ❤️
