A couple notes! First, there was an audio issue with this episode! That means that my (Georgia's) mic did NOT record correctly, so i was reliant on the meeting audio. Unfortunately, that does mean that my spoken parts are of a pretty low quality. That said, the content went so well and the conversation was so good that I did not want to ruin it with a rerecord. Please have patience with the audio, we will be back to normal in the next episode. Second, this was recorded in November of 2025. Some of the information may feel dated with the events of the last week, but there is still much to be gained from this conversation and the information shared is still good. If you are looking at the title and thinking "what does that have to do with horses?" I ask you to just trust me and give it a try. Our agricultural and farming economy RELIES on immigrant workers. This episode talks about those issues as a whole, including how farms may be impacted. There are not specific stories of violence, but we do talk about familial separation, incarceration, violence, and violation of rights. This week, Georgia chatted with Sydney again. This time about all things toxic trainers! Please note, this episode is specifically about how trainer relationships can turn sour. It is not indicative of the GOOD trainers who are out there. Second note, we mention that there is no formal licensure requirement in the US. This is not entirely accurate, as the state of Massachusetts does require a license to teach horse back riding. However, as far as I am aware at the time of writing this, they are the only state with such a requirement. Enjoy!Georgia
