We welcome the one and only Matt Chan to the Born Primitive Outdoor Podcast. Matt is an elite athlete, career firefighter, family man, and probably one of the more fit people on the planet. Aron welcomes Justin Birthisel to the show today to talk about his Alaskan Mosse Hunt that went horribly awry. A once in a lifetime float trip for Alaskan Moose is something most guys dream about, including Justin and his buddy. We are back this week with Wyoming guide and outfitter Blake Chamley of Chamley Outfitting. Blake has led a pretty storied life of guiding and outfitting in the backcountry of Wyoming. With a passion for the impressive Rocky Mountain Big Horn, he has led many fortunate hunters into the mountains to chase these impressive creatures.
Aron and Blake met a few years ago, and though they weren't fast friends, they have quickly forged a strong friendship, including Aron helping Blake guide hunters this past season after a very scary horse accident that left Blake with multiple injuries. Blake shares some guiding stories as well as some of his own personal hunting adventures. Aron welcomes brothers Josh and Chris Neville to the the podcast. They are the minds behind the new Backcountry Stove System over at Roughridge Stove Company. They are designing a stove system for hunters by hunters. Rather than having to piece together or "Frankenstein" cook system, they opted to design their own from the ground up. All current options were either too heavy, too bulky, or just weren’t built to handle the conditions hunters faced on backcountry hunts. And thus, Roughridge was born: for DIY hunters who push harder, go farther, and know success isn’t given, it’s earned.
