Description

Welcome to the Tattoo Budcast, the hilarious podcast where tattoo artists and buds Sanae Garcia and Jimmy Jam blend their love for tattoos with their knack for storytelling. Broadcasting from their cozy tattoo shop, they bring you a unique and hearty dose of humor and unfiltered shop banter. Think of it as eavesdropping on a tattoo session, but with fewer needles and more laughs.

Each week, Jimmy Jam and Sanae tackle everything from the wildest tattoo requests they’ve ever gotten, to bizarre client stories, to deep dives into the culture of tattoos. Whether they’re discussing what happens when someone asks for a tiny dragon on their wrist (and it turns out to be the size of a toddler), or recalling the most cringe-worthy tattoo trends they’ve seen, it’s a perfect blend of humor, and real-life tattoo shop antics.

The Tattoo Budcast will also be featuring guest tattoo artists and the most interesting tattoo clients, listeners will feel like they’re right there in the shop. It’s a mix of sharp wit, irreverence, and surprisingly insightful takes on tattooing and life in general. Get ready for confessions, advice, funny shop mishaps, and stories that will make you laugh out loud (while maybe questioning your next tattoo choice).

Catch your buds at your weekly session, on the Tattoo Budcast.

We’ve got a brand new episode for you, and this time Johnny Bones and Goonies Ulloa from Dreamland Art Co are sitting in with Sanae . They’re filling in on the mic  for Jimmy Jam🎙️ The Buds sit down and reminisce about Friday the 13th tattoo days, and if you think they’re brutal now… imagine doing 50 tattoos in one day for $13 each. Absolute chaos. Also, it’s impossible to ignore that Bones has two 32oz drinks strapped to his hands the entire time. Is this a lifestyle? A cry for help? This leads us into drinking games, bad decisions, and the very real fear of next-day hangxiety. We also get into the Super Bowl halftime show (Team Bad Bunny, obviously), and then spiral into an important survival question… could any of us make it in the wild? Goonies and Sanae are ready to tap out immediately, but Bones is fully convinced he’s built for the wilderness. From there, we unlock a new nightmare hobby: searching “tattoo gun” on Amazon and reading the reviews. The results? Horrifying tattoos, questionable machines… and yes, someone mentions flesh-eating bacteria. To close it out, we read two listener letters: One asks if it’s okay to change a flash design right before an appointment, and another confesses to some sweet, sweet workplace revenge. If you like tattoo life, shop stories, chaotic conversations, and questionable decisions, this episode is for you. Tune in and laugh with us. Like we say… it’s just like a tattoo appointment, minus the tattoo. ----more---- 🔥 BUDCAST EXCLUSIVE 🛒 15% off tattoo supplies 🌍 kingpintattoosupply.com 🏷️ Code TATTOOBUDS15 ----more---- Like & Subscribe for new episodes every week. The Olympics are coming to Los Angeles in two years, and the Buds are already mentally preparing for the traffic. But instead of complaining (for once), it sparks a brilliant idea… Tattoo Olympics. We’re talking speed setups, fastest breakdowns, flash painting, endurance rounds… who’s taking gold in the tattoo world? The Buds also start cooking up plans for a Tattoo Buds Art Show + Karaoke Night, because nothing says community like art and public embarrassment. Jimmy Jam discovers “bite-size painting” as a way to survive making flash (because full sheets are emotionally taxing), while Sanae shares her latest encounter with a Karen in the wild… and yes, she leaned all the way into the conflict. From there, things go completely off the rails. We get into roller coasters, the rumored closing of Six Flags, and James introduces a new method to “raise your frequency” or, for the rest of us, just declutter your brain. Jimmy Jam also announces he released a book. A picture book. Because growth has limits. Then we introduce our newest obsession: Punch the Monkey. The new Moo Deng? NEW-DENG??  We’re invested. We also learn how tattoos create real physical and psychological responses (yes, this episode is somehow educational), and close it out with a Tattoo Cover Up story involving some very sweet, very messy revenge on a listener’s dad’s mistress. Grab a seat, grab your emotional support monkey, and enjoy another chaotic episode of the Tattoo Budcast. ----more---- 🔥 BUDCAST EXCLUSIVE 🛒 15% off tattoo supplies 🌍 http://www.kingpintattoosupply.com  🏷️ Code TATTOOBUDS15 ----more---- Like & Subscribe for new episodes every week. He claims to be just a little Ozzy… but we all know the truth. If you’ve made it through the last 10 years without seeing an Ozzy panther or chrome tattoo, then you’ve probably been living under a rock. Ozzy is a Venice Beach traditional tattoo legend, and he just opened a brand new shop in sunny downtown Riverside. We sit down and talk about how his punk rock mom bought him his first tattoo machine as a teenager and he’s been tattooing ever since. We get into the love/hate relationship with tattoo conventions. They’re always a gamble… but they’re also always a good hang. Ozzy also takes the phrase “bold will hold” to a terrifying new level when he tells the story of the time he tattooed with a 100 round liner. From there we spiral into tattoo internet culture, including the artist blowing up for tattooing with their non-dominant hand, and why people absolutely love a good tattoo gimmick. We also talk about tattoo artist The Raw Wendy, who was featured on My Strange Addiction for eating raw meat. Somehow this doesn’t phase Ozzy at all, because he’s currently deep into fitness, macros, and meal prep… something the Buds absolutely cannot relate to. And because he’s a true artist, Ozzy closes out the episode with not one, not two, but THREE Tattoo Cover Up stories. So grab your meal prep, sit down, and hang with this Los Angeles tattoo legend. ----more---- Like & Subscribe for new episodes every week. The Buds are back from two separate trips and apparently decided growth is overrated. Instead of easing back in, we jump straight into a question absolutely nobody asked for: Is kink shaming wrong? And if no one shames it… is it even still a kink? Yes. We spiraled immediately. Jimmy Jam just got back from a quick run with his band feeling cool and mysterious. Meanwhile, Sanae survived the Philadelphia Tattoo Festival during the worst East Coast snowstorm since 1996. Flights delayed. Snow everywhere. Character development forced. She barely made it home. And as promised, she tells a story that officially evens the scoreboard between her and James. Yes. She crapped her pants. No. There is no dignity left in this episode. So strap on your emotional diaper, grab your snow coat, and press play. Like & Subscribe for new episodes every week. The Buds are back with a brand new episode, and this time we’re sitting down with Nestor Zelaya. James first met Nestor when he was still a fireman. You know, back when he had a “real job,” a steady paycheck, benefits… and allegedly more happiness. Now he’s a tattooer. So clearly something went wrong. Nestor walks us through what made him leave the stability of a traditional career to chase the chaos of tattooing. From immigrating to the U.S. as a kid and chasing the “American Dream,” to realizing maybe that dream wasn’t actually his, and deciding to build something of his own. He talks about learning to tattoo, opening his own shop, and redefining success on his terms. Naturally, we then take a completely normal turn into discussing the wildest way to get out of mandatory military service in a certain country. Because that’s how this show works. Nestor opens up about his humble beginnings, the life reminders that keep him grounded, and then closes it out with a Tattoo Cover Up story that will leave your jaw on the floor and almost left him… testicle-less. Yes. You read that correctly. So sit down, press play, and enjoy another episode of the Tattoo Budcast where stability is optional and the stories are unhinged. ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast  Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast  Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/  Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam    Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast  Dreamland Art Co: http://www.instagram.com/dreamlandartco    NESTOR IG: https://www.instagram.com/zelayatattoos  SHOP: http://www.instagram.com/fearcitylb   ----more---- 🔥 BUDCAST EXCLUSIVE 🛒 15% off tattoo supplies 🌍 kingpintattoosupply.com 🏷️ Code TATTOOBUDS15
We’re sitting down with star-crossed lovers and certified Best Bud royalty, Iggy and Jared Starbard aka Jiggy from Bone Deep Tattoo. We reminisce about the “good old days” when tattoo shops were basically adult daycare centers and ask the hard question: why does nobody hang out in shops anymore? Who hurt us? We pitch our ideal Best Bud dates, then immediately rip off The Newlywed Game with our totally original, definitely legal game called Better Buds. Is it competitive? Yes. Does it expose friendships? Also yes. From there we spiral into early viral internet videos and remember just how lawless the early internet used to be. No rules. No HR. Just vibes and permanent consequences. We try to land the plane with something wholesome: “What’s one thing you wish the world knew about your Bud?” It gets sweet. It gets emotional. It almost feels safe. Then Iggy closes the episode with a Tattoo Cover Up story about a reality TV star who walked into their shop and somehow left without her panties. Literally. So grab your Best Bud, hold them close, and enjoy this very romantic, slightly unhinged episode of the Tattoo Budcast. ----more---- GET 15% ALL TATTOO SUPPLIES WWW.KINGPINTATTOOSUPPLY.COM ENTER CODE: TATTOOBUDS15 AT CHECKOUT! ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast  Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast  Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/  Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam  Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast  Dreamland Art Co: http://www.instagram.com/dreamlandartco  ----more---- Guests: Jared Starbard IG: http://www.instagram.com/jaredstarbard  Iggy IG: http://www.instagram.com/iggyink  Shop: http://www.instagram.com/bonedeeptattoos

We talk about how he became one of the funniest tattoo content creators out there, the unexpected path that led him to where he is now, and what it’s really like turning tattoo life into viral comedy. The laughs are nonstop, but things take a turn in the Tattoo Cover Up segment, where Beaverduck shares the wild, life-changing events that shaped his career and pushed him forward. The Buds are back, and this one is a classic tattoo family episode. We’ve got Dreamland Art Co coworkers Goonies and Johnny Bones in the studio, and just like Goonies’ first Budcast appearance, things immediately spiral when we decide to play EDWARD 40 Hands. That choice naturally leads to vomit stories, a very necessary intervention about Goonies’ drinking, and a discussion about her Frankenstein car that honestly might need to be put down. We break down our go-to hangover cures, Jimmy Jam relives his glory drinking days with a party trick that absolutely falls flat, and somehow Forrest Whitaker catches a few strays along the way. The Buds also fill you in on a recent shop cutting, where we all quickly realize we would be completely useless if we were ever held hostage. To close it out, Sanae brings a Tattoo Cover Up story that sounds like it came straight out of a movie. Grab a 40oz, strap it to your hands, and laugh with us. ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast  Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast  Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/  Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam    Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast    Dreamland Art Co: http://www.instagram.com/dreamlandartco    Goonies IG: http://www.instagram.com/ohmy_goonies  Johnny Bones IG: http://www.instagram.com/bonesart
Wayne Fredrickson is back on Tattoo Budcast and somehow… he’s opened ANOTHER tattoo shop. 😂 One of the original tattoo YouTube vlog pioneers (before everyone had ring lights and “day in the life” reels), Wayne pulls up to talk about building shops like a madman, the rise of unorthodox tattoo shop chains shaking up the industry, and the wild world of creating content as a tattooer without losing your sanity. Then things take a turn when Wayne tells the story of getting pickpocketed in England while on a tattoo trip — because apparently international crime is just part of the tattoo lifestyle now. 🇬🇧💸 If you’re into tattoo industry chaos, social media grind talk, and hearing how success sometimes comes with stolen wallets — this episode is a must. ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast  Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast  Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/  Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam  Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast  ----more---- Wayne’s IG: http://www.instagram.com/waynefredrickson Shop IGs: https://www.instagram.com/uniteandwintattoo http://www.instagram.com/norcotattoo http://www.instagram.com/luckydollartattooparlor Tattoo Supply: http://www.uniteandwintattoosupply.com Podcast: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyKGcPYJHJaCrqdyADN4ZOB803KO6Kz3S&si=4UN41eBfzhSf9D3N
On today’s episode of the Tattoo Budcast, we’re joined by a very special Bud in the shop. An OG friend from Sanae’s teenage years who also tattoos, straight out of Mesa, tattoo artist Aaron Brizendine, better known as Brizzo. We kick things off by letting AI create opposite-sex versions of the Buds and Brizzo, then asking the most important question possible: would you let yourself hit? From there, things escalate quickly as we test a Hot Ones–style hot sauceinspired by Hot Ones, and James may or may not survive the heat. Brizzo shares stories from his tattoo apprenticeship in Japan, including learning tattoo machine building and how that experience shaped his opinions on rotary pens versus traditional machines. Once again, James may not survive. We finish strong with a wild real-life story involving a desk pop at an old tattoo shop. Yes, a real pewpew accident. Yes, it’s exactly as unhinged as it sounds. This episode is high energy, childish, and 100% on-brand Tattoo Budcast chaos. Marco Gomez pulled up to Tattoo Budcast with THREE things: wisdom, horror stories, and parasites. 🫠   In this episode we talk about Marco’s journey overcoming gut parasites (yeah… we were disgusted too), his approach to mentoring apprentices, and how he officially became a tattoo grandpa—because his apprentice graduated and now has apprentices of his own. That’s generational tattooing, baby.   Then Marco casually drops one of the most terrifying haunted experiences from his childhood and suddenly the whole vibe turns into Paranormal Activity: Tattoo Shop Edition.   If you like tattoo talk with a side of trauma and comedy—this one’s for you. ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast  Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast  Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/  Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam  Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast  ----more---- Marco’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/donjuandemarco1 Shop IG: https://www.instagram.com/warhorsevintagetattoo
We’ve got a very special episode for you today. Another RoadBuds installment, and this time we’re filming on location at the House of Blues Anaheim. We’re sitting down with a very special bud, Bryan Kienlen. A tattoo legend out of Jersey and a full-on punk rock icon. We get into the early days of touring with The Bouncing Souls, how those tours compare to life on the road now, and how Bryan made the jump into tattooing, shop ownership, and somehow manages to balance it all. And just when you think he might not be human, we go there. Imposter syndrome. Self-doubt. The struggle of pricing your own work and knowing your worth. This is how the Buds are acting when Santa is literally on his way to town. We welcome back Bud Dalton Elliott to the studio, and things get chaotic fast when he gets tattooed by BOTH Buds at the same time. Dalton is celebrating the one year anniversary of his year-long tattoo road trip, and we’re feeling extra merry about it. We get into Christmas dos and don’ts, our own holiday traditions and memories, and for Tattoo Therapy we help a listener navigate intense holiday burnout. Jimmy Jam is officially creeping toward 40 and having a full-blown existential spiral. He’s turning 37, and Sanae catches him mid freak-out to unpack his problems, offer some real-life advice, and set goals before the void fully takes over. We also get to know the Bud known as Jimmy Jam a little better over a McDonald’s Grinch meal, because nothing sparks self-reflection quite like pickle fries and a seasonal promotion. Plus, we read some top-tier listener letters for Tattoo Therapy and our Tattoo Cover-Up segment. Emotional growth, questionable decisions, and unsolicited opinions included. In this episode of the Tattoo Budcast, Jimmy and Sanae sit down with Montana tattooer Dana Richards, who Sanae has known since his earliest days as an apprentice in the same California shop they once worked at. Now a successful shop owner in Montana, Dana shares his journey from those humble beginnings to running his own studio, along with the major differences between tattooing in Montana vs California. The conversation dives into everything from shifting testosterone levels to lifestyle changes, shop culture, and what it takes to build a solid career in the tattoo industry.   We also get into why a real tattoo apprenticeship still matters in 2025—how it shapes your craft, your professionalism, and your long-term success. Things get philosophical too, as the crew talks about simulation theory, strange coincidences, and whether we might all be living inside something bigger than we realize. It’s a mix of tattoo talk, mentorship, personal growth, and the kind of weird, honest conversations the Budcast is known for. ----more---- Like & Subscribe to Our Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TattooBudcast Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/tattoobudcast/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tattoobudcast Sanae IG: https://www.instagram.com/sanae_kawaii/ Jimmy Jam IG: http://www.instagram.com/iamjimmyjam Podcast Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TattooBudcast Dreamland Art Co: http://www.instagram.com/dreamlandartco Dana Richards IG: https://www.instagram.com/danatattoos
