He traveled from his home country to the UK to find work but found himself living out of a garage with very little income. His living conditions were brutal, and he struggled to keep moving forward. Tim Thomas is a former special forces operator from Australia. After the military, he was using pharmaceuticals to treat his anxiety and depression. Jaqueline contacted me in December 2023 to discuss the possibility of an intervention for one of her siblings who was struggling with addiction. Everything was on track, but Jaqueline's father had other ideas. The conversations Jaqueline's family had in preparation for the intervention and the boundaries that were consequentially set, were key in setting her family and sibling on a course for recovery.

Erin is a Doctorate level, Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in clinical practice in the state of Florida since 2006. Neely works with families to develop strategies for helping their loved ones. She also helps families recover. She offers consultation, individual and group workshops, coaching, and speaks at conferences. Both Erin and Neely are passionate about their work because of how their own families have been impacted by addiction.
David Mahler is a Wall Street broker with over 30 years' experience. He was in Building 1 during the 911 attack on the World Trade Center. He and colleagues, having experienced the World Trade Center bombing years earlier, immediately left their offices after the first plane hit. Dave survived the attack and continued his career. He goes on in this interview to describe his experience in coming to know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and his experience with his daughter who battled addiction for years. Dave has been volunteering in recovery ministry with his church for years and is now a recovery coach for men.

In 2006, Dr. Fred pioneered a new methodology, working closely with a select group of patients who sought an alternative path to healing. Remarkably, these individuals not only improved but, in some cases, saw their diagnoses completely vanish. This success ignited a series of questions surrounding the very definitions of mental illness and mental health, laying the foundation for Dr. Fred's evolving methodology.
