In this episode, Julia and Sabrina explore the history of how Canadian federal corrections has treated trans and gender expansive prisoners, as a way of understanding how we got to this current mess.Content warning: This episode contains descriptions of transphobia, sexual and physical violence, and racism. The term "prisoner" is used, as well as justice involved or incarcerated person to define those that are currently incarcerated.
