Description

Your mom, your grandpa, somebody in your life whom you love and admire said that the Bible holds the answers to every question or problem you’d ever have. Wow. Think of it. After all, you have questions! You’ve been known to have a problem or two. It would be great if you could find the answers you’re looking for.

You crack open that Bible a couple of times but just as quickly shut it. You want to love digging into Scripture. Instead, you find it intimidating, judgmental, and maybe even unbelievable. Let’s change that.

Hi! I’m Anna Moore Bradfield, an award-winning and bestselling author, Christian speaker, and facilitator of workshops and events. I’ve been where you are. Plenty of times. I’ve questioned if God cared at all about what I was going through. Did he even have a plan for my life? When I got up the guts to tell him to his face, I found that he had very broad shoulders and that he could take anything I dished out. Then he began revealing himself to me.

In this podcast, we’ll share:
• Stories from the Bible that reveal God’s interactions with His people, confirming His desire for intimate, consistent, and loving relationships.
• Stories from everyday life that testify to God’s revelation through the Holy Spirit.
• Ways to develop a Bible study and prayer life that help us to become both open and full throttle geeked to boldly approach God’s throne.

It’s easy to miss these life-changing moments if we aren’t looking for them. But the more we look, the more we find.

As you engage with this podcast, you’ll find yourself looking to the Word with fresh eyes and a renewed desire to discover God’s plan for your life. You’ll find that the same God who led all the great characters of Scripture way back in Bible times is crazy about you, too. In fact, he’s been thinking about you all day.

I’m rooting for you! And I can’t wait to connect with you 😊.

Hello, friend!  I've been wondering something...what do you do when life hands you news that completely upends your plans? News that shakes you? In this deeply moving episode, I interview Kelly Hall, host of the Unshakeable Hope podcast and mother of four children, three of whom are profoundly deaf. Kelly shares her raw, honest journey from the devastating moment of her first daughter's diagnosis through raising twins who were also born deaf. You'll hear how God met her in a pizza restaurant the day she received the first diagnosis, how He orchestrated a phone call during her loneliest moment, and how He prepared her heart for this path when she was just 14 years old. This episode offers both practical wisdom for those walking through unexpected hardship and guidance for those supporting loved ones in crisis. Kelly provides: Five specific ways to process life-altering news. Five steps you can take to truly support someone in pain. Kelly's story demonstrates that our deepest grief can become the doorway to experiencing God's faithfulness in profound ways. Whether you're facing your own unexpected challenge or supporting someone who is, Kelly's story will remind you that God goes before us into every difficult place, and no pain in His hands is ever wasted. Maybe you experience God's peace in the midst of your life-shaking news today, my friend. Hey, friend. You thought you knew how to do this thing called life, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.   What if God's plans are even bigger than our own expectations? In this powerful episode, I sit down with my friend Robyn Dykstra, bestselling author of The Widow Wore Pink and highly sought speaker who has an incredible gift for helping women discover hope in their darkest moments.   Robyn's story is one of radical transformation, from Playboy bunny to beloved Christian speaker. Yet it's so much more than a simple before and after testimony. Robyn opens up about the dangerous lie many of us believe: that if we just follow the rules and be good church girls, nothing bad will ever happen to us. Robyn learned the hard way that trials come to everyone. Then she discovered something beautiful: God doesn't waste our pain It's never too late for a fresh start. Whether you're struggling with shame from your past, feeling like you've wandered too far from God's will, or believing the lie that you're just getting what you deserve, Robyn's wisdom will challenge you to see your story through God's eyes. She shares practical insights about the power of testimony, the importance of community during difficult seasons, and why vulnerability isn't weakness but, rather, the pathway to helping others find hope. May you find the courage today to reach out to the body of Christ in your hour of need, sweet friend. Hey, friend! Thrilled that you're joining us today. In this deeply moving episode, I interview Jill Garner, founder of Manners of the Heart, a nonprofit that helps us transform how we teach children respect and character. Jill's ministry wasn't born from success. It emerged from her "wonderfully difficult" season when her college sweetheart walked out after 20 years of marriage, leaving her with 12-year-old twin sons entering middle school. For two years, Jill prayed Scripture, consulted Christian counselors, and believed with unwavering faith that God would restore her marriage. She had a circle of friends who prayed with her. She knew God hated divorce. She was doing everything right. But the day came when her husband married someone else, and Jill faced a crisis of faith that overshadowed even losing her marriage. That night, crying in bed after her sons tucked her in, Jill realized something profound: she was more afraid of losing her faith than of losing her husband. Through tears, she told God, "I accept your no—not because I'm okay with this, but because I can't lose you. You are my everything." The next morning—Mother's Day—Jill woke up and ran down the hall singing the "wake-up song" she hadn't been able to sing in two years: "Oh, it's a bright and beautiful day, God made it special that way." Her sons' eyes flew open: "Mom! God put the song back in your heart!" Four years later, standing in an Albertsons grocery line (while giving God the silent treatment), Jill saw a magazine article about the disappearance of manners and had her epiphany—this was her calling. Key Takeaways: God never X's anything out—He redeems it - Every experience, good and ugly, God uses to prepare us for our purpose Throne confusion leads to brokenness - When we idolize people or things above God, He must break our hearts to rebuild them correctly Self-respect, not self-esteem - The 60-year focus on building self-esteem has destroyed society by turning eyes inward instead of toward God Hearts harden by age 13 - The impressions made on children's hearts before age 10-13 determine whether they have rock-solid foundations or hardened, broken hearts needing redemption "Wonderfully difficult" seasons - The most painful times bring the deepest intimacy with God and preparation for future ministry This episode offers hope for anyone walking through divorce, struggling with unanswered prayers, or wondering how God could possibly use their broken past. Hi there, friend! In this moving episode, I interview Sandra Hartlieb, a legally blind storyteller, speaker, and author who brings biblical characters to life through first-person dramatic portrayals. Sandra shares her powerful journey from Broadway dreams to professional theater, through devastating vision loss, to discovering her true calling and identity. Born with severe vision impairment, Sandra wore "Coke bottle glasses" as a child and eventually needed a cornea transplant. Despite pursuing theater at Indiana University and winning awards for acting and directing, she realized professional theater wasn't aligned with her faith. Years later, while thriving in her "dream job" advocating for people with disabilities, Sandra had to surrender her driver's license in 2009—ending not just her independence but her career. The depression that followed was so severe her doctor referred her to a psychologist. During one session, the therapist asked about Sandra's grandchildren: "Didn't you love them from the moment they were born? Why? They hadn't done anything." That question became Sandra's breakthrough moment—realizing her worth wasn't tied to her accomplishments but to being a "daughter of the King." Now in full-time ministry since 2023, Sandra travels (with her husband driving) performing as Mary, Peter's mother-in-law, the Jewish midwife Pua, and other biblical women, transporting audiences to ancient villages and wedding feasts through intimate storytelling. Key Takeaways: "We can make our plans, but God directs our steps" (Proverbs 16:9) - Even when walking in God's will, He may redirect you to something better Your worth isn't in what you do - Like grandchildren loved before accomplishing anything, God loves us simply because we're His children Open your hands to receive - Holding tightly to your own plans prevents God from giving you what He has for you Every experience prepares you - God uses seemingly unrelated experiences throughout your life to equip you for your ultimate calling Depression after loss is normal - Losing identity tied to work or abilities requires professional help and time to process This episode offers hope for anyone facing career loss, disability, retirement, or any situation where God's plan looks nothing like what they expected. Sandra's story proves that what feels like loss is often God's redirection toward something better. May God richly bless you today, my friend. Hi, Friend! In this powerful conclusion to this miracle story, the family gathers to reflect on what God taught us through nearly two months of Margie fighting for her life. With Margie now home and recovering, they share profound lessons about persistent prayer, surrendering control, and recognizing miracles when they happen. Linda (my oldest sister) shares a convicting revelation: "We don't get miracles because we don't expect them and we don't look for them." After decades in pastoral ministry walking through crises with others, this was the first full-fledged miracle she'd witnessed since accepting Jesus at age eight. Her wrestling match with God—like Jacob—led to His assurance: "What makes you think I'm going to drop you now?" I describe my roller-coaster experience of trying to "hand it over to God" while feeling responsible for praying hard enough. I discovered that my mood couldn't be dependent on Margie's daily progress; my faith had to rest in God's character, not life's circumstances. Margie shares how she's learned to look for Jesus everywhere—in doctors, physical therapists, even the cafeteria worker who encouraged her. When people said "Margie's a fighter," she corrected them: "I am not a fighter. The Lord fought for me while I was still" (Exodus 14:14). Perhaps most moving: a high school friend's entire third-grade class prayed for Margie nightly. Their handmade cards reveal how this miracle is imprinting young hearts with faith that God still answers prayer. Key Takeaways: Shameless audacity in prayer - Like the man knocking persistently at midnight (Luke 11), don't stop asking God for what you need "We don't get miracles because we don't ask" - Expecting and looking for miracles is part of receiving them Surrender doesn't mean stop praying - Anna learned to hand control to God while continuing to intercede faithfully "The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still" (Exodus 14:14) - Sometimes our job is simply to be still while God battles for us Your miracle witnesses to others - Third graders across the country learned God still does miracles through Margie's testimony Don't deprive others of witnessing God's glory - Sharing our struggles allows others to participate in God's miraculous answers This episode offers encouragement for anyone struggling with persistent prayer, wondering if God hears, or questioning whether miracles still happen today. May you connect with God's love in your own today, my friend. Hey there, friend! In this powerful follow-up to Episode 21, I reunite with my brother-in-law Dave Caruth, this time with incredible news: Margie is home! In a stunning turn of events, the woman doctors said wouldn't survive is now recovering in her own home after nearly two months battling what began as influenza B. This episode features multiple family members sharing their perspectives on Margie's miraculous journey: Linda (my oldest sister) from across the country wrestling with God like Jacob, Courtney (Margie's daughter) speaking prophetic words despite her own fear, Dave maintaining vigil through the darkest hours, and Margie herself—discovering for the first time what everyone went through while she was unconscious for nearly a month. From influenza B to pneumonia, COVID, sepsis, septic shock, liver failure, kidney failure, dialysis, and blackened toes doctors wanted to amputate—Margie faced an "unprecedented" recovery that medical professionals couldn't explain. One nurse said she'd never seen anyone come to rehab in such bad condition and progress so quickly. The wound specialist marveled that Margie kept her toenails when "almost everybody" in her condition loses them. The turning point? Bold, shameless prayer that refused to accept anything less than "100% whole"—even when medical professionals prepared the family for the worst. Key Takeaways: "What makes you think I'm going to drop you now?" - God's reassurance to Linda that He doesn't abandon those He's carried their whole life Bold prayer changes outcomes - When doctors suggested amputation, the family prayed specifically for complete healing and got it Look for Jesus in unexpected places - Margie learned to recognize Christ working through doctors, therapists, even cafeteria workers "This is not the time" - Sometimes God gives prophetic words through people whose own feelings don't align with what they're speaking God uses every circumstance for witness - Medical professionals repeatedly called Margie's recovery "amazing" and "a miracle" This two-part episode offers hope for families facing impossible medical situations and demonstrates the power of persistent, specific, audacious prayer that refuses to settle for less than God's best. May you witness God’s miracle in your own life today, my friend.
