Disclaimer! Later in this episode I (Trevor) brought up the serpent seed theory. This is something I had been exposed to briefly through other podcasts, and as I said in this episode, it kind of made sense to me at the time. Not knowing much about it, I did not realize what a controversial topic it was, and listeners were kind enough to reach out and educate me. I now know that this topic is extremely controversial. I also now understand why. So I encourage people to not give my off handed musing too much credence. It shouldn't need to be said, but do not come to happy fools for theology advice. In that vein, I claimed that Jesus accused the pharisees of being the children of the devil. That part is accurate, but I went on to say that he called their fatherer an adulterer from the start. That is not correct. He called him a murderer from the start. Here is the passage:"For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies."Big difference.
