Providence is 5-1, likely to be 6-1 in November, to start their season with a road win in the Gavitt Games against Wisconsin, a neutral court victory over another Big Ten opponent in Northwestern in the Legends Classic at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and then fell to Virginia in the championship game Tuesday night to cap off a 5-1 start to their season. Mike discusses some of the positives to take from the 1-1 trip to New Jersey, how the rotation is shaping up and a look ahead at the final stretch of non-conference games in December.
Back after a 1,273 day hiatus, the Providence Friarcast returns on #Gameday2021 with Providence set to open the 2021-22 season at the Dunkin' Donuts Center against Fairfield.
On this mid-May episode of the Providence Friarcast I was joined by one of the newest Friars, Kris Monroe. Kris and I talked about how the relationship between he and Coach Battle and Coach Cooley developed, his hidden talent and his plans for what number he'll wear next season. I also opened with some schedule talk, but Chris, Brendan and I will do a more in-depth episode on the non-conference schedule when it comes out in a week or two.
The first offseason edition of the Providence Friarcast features Brendan, Chris and Mike wrapping up the 2017-18 season, giving their state of the program and talking scheduling tweaks to take Providence's resume to the next level. Mike was joined in the latter portion by former Providence assistant, Rhode Island and Maine University head coach Bob Walsh to discuss owning expectations and providing insight and perspective on the Providence program from when he joined Tim Welsh's staff in 1998 to 2018 with the Friars coming off a fifth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Providence earned their 5th straight NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday as a 10 seed in the West Region. The Friars will face 7 seed Texas A&M in Charlotte on Friday afternoon on CBS.
Providence ended their regular season on Saturday with a win over St. John's to improve to 10-8 in the Big East slate and the Friars head to MSG this week to take on Creighton on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. Brendan McGair joins me to discuss all of that and a little bit on PC's NCAA Tournament hopes.
The Providence Friarcast returns after a couple weeks off and we have the full crew of Brendan, Chris and Mike discussing the Friars' recent 3-game road trip at Villanova, Seton Hall and Marquette. There was also a recap of the Friars' win at home against Georgetown this week, a lookahead to their game on Saturday against DePaul for Alumni & Family Weekend at PC and we finished with a discussion about the impact that Isaiah Jackson and Alpha Diallo have had this season, especially in Big East play.
