In today’s episode, I dive deeper into the OCD distortion of intolerance of uncertainty and anxiety in our lives. This is huge among OCD sufferers, causing us to feel isolated and alone.  I want to walk you through some common examples and pitfalls you may fall into in your OCD battle, as well as give you tools to overcome them.  When we learn to tolerate the physical sensations of anxiety or stress, as well as letting go of needing a distorted level of certainty on important things in our lives, we can find freedom from OCD. It starts with you making the decision to go ALL IN at eliminating compulsive behavior out of your life with the Grace and Gentleness of God.  There is freedom when we give all of our anxiety’s and uncertainties to the Lord and let Him heal our hearts from OCD. We can only do this through His power and strength and knowing that we are unconditionally loved, accepted, and validated in our battle.  You are never alone!  1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” If this was an encouragement for your journey, please leave a like and subscribe to our YouTube Channel!  Follow us on all socials: @ mendedheartsministries Do you want further help on your healing journey? OCD strugglers battle many different “Cognitive Distortions” that seek to take us out from experiencing power, love, and a sound mind. I am excited to give you insights and tips to help you recognize these distortions in your own life so that you can walk in freedom!  Today, I went through the distortion of “Perfectionism.” This is by far the biggest distortion in OCD, and all other distortions can be traced back to this root of perfectionism. It will seek to steal, kill, and destroy our ability to be present, experience fruitful relationships, and walk as sons or daughters of God. I will walk you through different battlegrounds you may be struggling with in specific subsets of OCD, as well as give you 3 things you can apply today to your life to help you heal from perfectionism! God is always in the business of healing our hearts from the deeply rooted fear of rejection, which is where perfectionism stems from. You are loved, accepted, and approved of not because of what you do, but because God loves you unconditionally. We must learn to be weak so His power can shine through us! 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” If this was an encouragement for your journey, please leave a like and subscribe to our YouTube Channel!  Follow us on all socials: @ mendedheartsministries Do you want further help on your healing journey? In the midst of intense anxiety & OCD struggles, it can be easy to lose our identity of who God says we are when we struggle. In this episode, Austin will give you 3 ways we view ourselves when we struggle: 1. Rejection mindset2. We are all alone3. OCD is who we areThese mindsets are hurtful toward us and how we relate to God. We need to learn to not attach OCD to who we are and what God says about us. Instead, Austin gives you 2 ways to renew your mind on how God views us when we struggle:1. A loving father with unconditional acceptance2. Not slaves to fear, but sons and daughters (Romans 8:15)When we continue to renew our minds and view ourselves through the eyes of God's tender, fatherly love for us, we can begin to heal our hearts and be free from OCD. In this episode, you will hear my story of healing through OCD and what I learned along the way. Through everything, experiencing God's love as a Father and His compassionate grace over my life was the most impactful remedy to fear and OCD in my life. God healed my insecurities, deep fear of rejection, and other pain in my life so I could see myself as a son, and not a slave to fear. I hope this was an encouragement to you on your journey and that you can apply something you learned to your life! Be willing to say a bold prayer of, "God, I know you want me to live healed and free, teach me what I am missing, and I will walk this journey with you." When we give our journey to God and have an overcoming mindset, we can start to heal from OCD. You are deeply loved and deeply known by a Father who loves you endlessly, receive that love today!
