After selling eyeglasses for a billionaire for 25 years, this Newark ex-pharmacist watched "Casablanca" for the 54th time and thought, "I could write something like that." So, he did. Twice. At the time, Danielle was a full-time mom, raising three kids while helping with the business when she could, and Andi was building a career in sports television. As our father’s health declined in the spring of 2012, we faced a life-changing decision—whether to take on ExpressIt, the company he had built. When he passed that summer, the business entered a period of uncertainty, and we made the choice to step in. At that point, ExpressIt was operating with just 13 drivers, two operations managers, and a handful of accounts across Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Despite having no prior business experience, we leaned on what we knew: hard work, resilience, and a people-first approach.
