Tampa fertilizer giant Mosaic is seeking federal approval to use an estimated 337 tons of phosphogypsum, a mildly radioactive byproduct from the company’s phosphate manufacturing process, as a test ingredient in road construction. When processing phosphate rock to make fertilizer, the phosphorous is removed by dissolving the rock in an acidic solution. The waste that is left behind is called phosphogypsum. Most of the naturally-occurring uranium, thorium and radium found in phosphate rock ends up in this waste. Uranium and thorium decay to radium and radium decays to radon, a radioactive gas. What happens when you realize the world you once grew up and admired is no longer the shimmering goddess you've come to remember? With this day and age political overlords have put our kids in jeopardy. This is molding into a world where the history they will come to know is and will be diluted. Lied about and twisted. In the development of my childhood I have remembered the stories and the narratives they spoke to me. Now that the internet has allowed a world of information to be shared, the public school systems are in trouble. Thanks to the whistleblowers, the Edward Snowdens and people who bring this darkness to light. This is no longer an attempt to blur the lines of heritage and ancestry. it is a plan to end the connection to it and sever our ties from our roots.
