Dearest glamorous darlings,Welcome back to the Fashion Boudoir, where we slip through the seams of history to uncover the silhouettes that shaped our world. Today, we turn our gaze to a revolution not of glittering soirées or dazzling evening gowns—but of daylight, movement, and reinvention. Often overshadowed by the sparkle of the flapper's fringe, the true sartorial upheaval of the 1920s happened in women’s daywear. Until then, what a woman wore between breakfast and cocktail hour had more to do with social status than with style—or comfort. But as the corset was cast aside and women stepped out into a new world of independence, a new need emerged: clothing that moved with them, rather than against them. And into that moment stepped Mademoiselle Chanel, who saw in jersey and tweed not just practicality, but possibility. Her vision? Daywear that was chic, comfortable, and liberating. A revolution in wool, darling—and the beginning of the iconic Chanel jacket.Elegantly yours, Carla Moulin * The music in my podcasts is from Epidemic Sound, a royalty free music sharing site#Fashionhistory #FashionPodcast #CocoChanel #Chanel #TweedJacket #Hautecouture #Historypodcast #Womeninhistory #goldenageofhollywood
My dearest glamorous darlings, It is with an utmost pleasure that I welcome you back in the fashion boudoir. Today, I am glad to open the archives of one of my favorite couturiers and fashion house to present you Madeleine Vionnet's bias cut dress. An odd to women by a women and the awakening of the female body consciousness. Slip into your most luxurious and glamorous gown darling as we unravel the story of Madeleine Vionnet's bias-cut dress. Found its way onto red carpets, into protest art, and — dare I say — our collective cultural psyche. But where did it begin? And why has it been both banned and celebrated with equal fervour?Tighten your garters, dears. Dearest glamorous darlings,  I am absolutely delighted to welcome you into my boudoir. Today, I shall paint the picture of a woman that has been described as the English scent maverick and whose name I am sure  is very familiar to you: Jo Malone C.B.E (Commander of the British Empire). If someone could paint a scent or if someone could transpose a painting into a symphony of scents, this person would probably be Jo Malone. A self-made woman, who came from a modestbackground and built two global businesses, revolutionized the art of perfumery and inspired many young artists and entrepreneurs (I found those two words and qualificatives being too often opposed when in reality, they are quite closedin the requirements they expect: nurturing passion, creativity and cultivating opportunities). So make yourself comfortable and let me guide you through the story of Jo Malone. Elegantly yours, Carla Moulin * The music in my podcasts is from Epidemic Sound, a royalty free music sharing site.
