In this episode, I’m sharing four practical steps to help you go from just working hard (and not always being seen) to strategically shaping what comes next in your career in a way that feels right for you.
Whether you’re feeling restless, under-recognised, or just itching for more (even if you’re not quite sure what “more” means just yet), this episode will help you get clear, get visible, and move forward intentionally.
Some highlights from the episode: ✔️ Why swapping the word promotion for progression can open new doors ✔️ Why you should act like you’re already in your next role ✔️ Building your career currency so your value is known, not hidden ✔️ Advocating for yourself like it’s a skill, not just hoping someone notices ✔️ The questions to ask yourself to get unstuck and clear on what’s next

In this episode, I’m joined by my fabulous friend Dr Katherine Iscoe – leadership expert, speaker, board member, and (as she puts it) a recovering high-achieving people pleaser (HAPP) – all the way from her brand new home in Dubai.
We chat about what it really takes to start again: ✨ Letting go of the imaginary critics ✨ Embracing the 20% of life that’s always going to feel frustrating ✨ And why ‘hope is not a strategy’ when you’re building the life you want to live
Kat also shares with us a big, bold vision for herself, the reason behind her move to Dubai, and HOW she is going about making her dreams come true (yes, even with that high-achieving, people-pleaser in her ear).
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Am I allowed to want something different?” – this one’s for you.
Our careers, leadership (and lives) are like rollercoasters, and sometimes the bravest thing we can do is choose the next loop ourselves.
I can’t wait for you to listen in on this conversation!

Ever felt like your body and mind were working against you, right when you’re at the peak of your career? You’re not alone. In this episode, we’re diving deep into perimenopause, how it affects women in mid-career, and what we can do to navigate it with confidence and clarity.
I’m joined by Dr Kirstey Holland, Founder, Director and principal practitioner of The Holland Clinic and an expert in women’s health and hormones, who breaks down the real impact of perimenopause on our energy, focus, and overall well-being. She also shares how we can navigate this transition with fewer side effects by making intentional lifestyle choices, from diet and stress management to the right kinds of movement.
In this episode, we cover:
What perimenopause actually is (and why we don’t talk about it enough)
The surprising symptoms that might be affecting your career (low energy and brain fog, anyone?)
Suggestions on how to approach workplace conversations about perimenopause
Simple strategies to support your body and mind through the transition
How to reduce symptoms through targeted nutrition, movement, and stress management

In this episode, I’m sharing 25 things I’m carrying into 2025. From choosing kindness to prioritising joy (yes, actually scheduling joy), embracing change, and setting stronger boundaries.
Some of these aren’t new… They’re values, beliefs, and practices I’ve held for years. But with everything going on in the world right now, I think it’s always worth checking in with ourselves. How do we want to show up? What do we want to bring into the new year and what might we want to let go of?
✨ Some highlights from the list:✔️ Holding space for complexity - because more than one thing can be true at once.✔️ Prioritising laughter - joy fuels resilience, and we all need more of it.✔️ Saying no when needed - because every ‘yes’ to something is a ‘no’ to something else.✔️ Listening to silence - taking time to reflect instead of reaching for distractions.✔️ Seeing, hearing, and loving - even when it feels hard.
🎧 Tune in now to hear the full list.

Ever felt stuck between wondering if it’s time to move on from your job or if you’re simply exhausted? You’re not alone. It’s a question so many of us wrestle with, especially as we get closer to the end of the year. Our lives become busier as we try and squeeze more in before the 31st December deadline we give ourselves to have ‘everything’ done by! In this episode, I’m unpacking the key signs to help you figure out whether your current role is still the right fit for you, OR if it’s simply time for a much-needed rest. These questions can help you decide if you’re feeling burnt out or genuinely need a change at work: What specifically is it that I am feeling with regards to my job? Is what I am feeling now been persistent ALL year, or is it just in the last few weeks or months? The Feelings Wheel, the brainchild of Dr. Gloria Willcox is a great tool to help you put words to your emotions and to care for your mental health. https://www.calm.com/blog/the-feelings-wheel What specifically feel like the main stressors? Is it a particular project you’re on at work, a particular team member, or is the volume of seasonal tasks that are causing you stress? This will help you work out if this is an ongoing issue, and therefore may mean a review of your job or organisation versus a seasonal period, or just being tired. What physical and emotional signs can you see in myself? What does that look like? E.g. difficulty focussing, cynicism, always tired, even if you slept, irritability. And here are the 5 steps I’m talking about to help you Reset, Refocus and Recharge for 2025: Watch Out for “Obligation Overload” and Cut the Comparison - Take stock of your commitments in every part of your life—are they essential, energising, or just empty obligations? What can go? Check Your Circle - Look at the people around you. Who gives you energy, and who drains it? Saying YES to something is a no to something else - get clear on what you are really saying NO to when you say yes. Do one thing for yourself each day and stick to it - it doesn't need to be costly or time consuming - a coffee at your favourite cafe on the way to work, listening to a podcast on the train you like, standing in the sun for 5 minutes; make it yours and commit. Pause and Process - Can you take some space over the break to breathe, reflect and recover - then perhaps make the decision in the new year about what the right next step is? 🎧 Tune in now on your favorite podcast platform, and don’t forget to share this episode with a friend or colleague who might need this insight too! 🌟 Order your copy of Less Hustle, More Happy - https://claireseeber.com.au/book/ Have me in your organisation - https://claireseeber.com.au/how-i-help-organisations/ Create a Less Hustle, More Happy Career - https://claireseeber.com.au/lesshustlemorehappycareer/ The Feelings Wheel - https://www.calm.com/blog/the-feelings-wheel
Ever wish you knew then what you know now? In this episode, I’m sharing the top 5 career lessons I’ve learned the hard way, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes. From trusting your gut, to learning how to communicate (and network) like a pro, these insights have shaped my career journey and could make a huge difference in yours too. Here’s what I’m covering in this episode: 💡 Lesson 1: Hard work alone won’t speak for itself – you need to share your wins, but you can do it strategically!! 💡 Lesson 2: Don’t expect your manager to be a mind reader – you have to own your own career path. 💡 Lesson 3: How you communicate is just as important as what you communicate. 💡 Lesson 4: Nurture relationships and networks throughout your career, not just when you need something. 💡 Lesson 5: Not all advice is created equal – know yourself and filter what you choose to listen to. Let’s get real – is the To-Do List ever really done?
After a whirlwind few months of book launches, client work, and events, I’m here to say "Ahhh, hell no... it’s not" – which means WE have to get better at building in brain breaks and setting boundaries to ensure we can show up as our most effective, impactful selves.
In this latest episode of Eating Your Cake Too, I’m diving into the habits we need to unlearn if we want to stop running ourselves into the ground, both in business and in life. I’ll share what I’ve learned about productivity, creativity, and the real value of rest, along with the better habits I’m building into my own business.
Here’s what we’re covering in this episode:
🛑 The unhealthy habits I’m unlearning:
Pushing through at all costs and how it leads to exhaustion.
Compromising creativity and quality for unnecessary urgency.
Treating rest as a reward, rather than an essential part of high performance.
✅ The better habits I’m embracing:
Building “brain breathers” into my business processes.
Understanding rest as a key ingredient for high performance.
Setting and keeping strong boundaries, even when others don’t.

“I’d love to see you leverage your strengths more in this role”.
“Just play to your strengths - the rest will follow”.
Ever had or heard feedback like this before?
It’s not wrong, but it isn’t overly helpful either.
What is often lacking in this conventional advice about strengths play, is the actual “HOW TO” of playing to your strengths to achieve outcomes for yourself, your team, and your organisation.
My view on this is that there are actually FOUR critical parts that form part of the ‘play to your strengths’ equation, and all four need to be in sync in order for you to be effective.
Here’s my formula on what it really takes to play to your strengths well:
Know them + Own them + Leverage them + Know the point of reverse impact
In this month's podcast, I dive deep into the formula above and give you practical insights as to what it means to know, own, leverage, and know the reverse point of impact in order to increase your impact at work.
