Description

Paula Radcliffe is regarded as one of the greatest female distance runners of our generation. The multiple medal winner and world record holder - including the women’s marathon record for 17 years - has continued her passion for running since retiring in 2015. Chris Thompson is one of the UK's most prolific distance runners for over 25 years.

Every Monday, we will bring 45 mins of high energy entertainment with a community spirit. An inclusive, unintimidating experience where people will learn from each other, helping understand quirks and developing coping mechanisms for all levels. 

Each week Paula and Chris will discuss many different aspects of running from nutrition to hydration from motivation to training tips, all based around a running community. They will address the anxieties and uncertainties we all feel surrounding running.

Paula and Chris will bring you some of the biggest names that also want to be part of their running community. Regular guests like Steve Peters, Harry Judd and Steve Cram will also be joined by some of the stars from sport and entertainment who will tell you why they run and what motives them whether it be for fun, health or mental wellbeing.

Our road to London continues with some brilliant advice from Georgie Bruinvels who's an expert in sports physiology. It's the first weekly Shakeout in the 16 week run-up to the London Marathon. Paula and Thommo are giving out advice to all your running questions. They discuss aiming for two marathons in 2026 whilst recovering from a four month lay-off. Today's guest is the former England women's footballer Jill Scott MBE, who was part of the Euro winning squad in 2022. She's also a winner of I'm a Celebrity...and also winner of the junior Great North Run and the North East Junior Cross Country Championships. We recorded this ahead of a charity quiz we were all part of. Jill talks about her junior running career and what it taught her along with the influences it had on her successful 16 year football career. She still runs, but she struggles to run more than 5k because of injuries to her knees from playing football. Jill also reveals Paula was her idol growing up...and wanted to be an athlete because of her. Paula tells Thommo she always goes on a run on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to consider resolutions and goals for the 12 months ahead. And she's got advice on how to keep yours! It's been great to have Innes FitzGerald chat with us ahead of the European Cross Country Championships. She's part of the new generation of British Athletes going for a third success title in the under 20's race. Innes talks about her rise from finishing way back in the pack(176th) in the English Schools Championships to where she is now. Her career has moved quickly under the guidance of Jo and Gavin Pavey.
