Description

Thru The Chapters is a one year Journey thru the text, Gonstead Chiropractic Science and Art by Roger Herbst. This text is the basic primer for anyone intent on learning the foundational concepts of Gonstead Chiropractic. This is a 52 week program designed to teach you fundamental concepts supported by Science, informed by Philosophy, and applied as Art. The 52 week format makes it so you can jump in anywhere and complete the journey from wherever you begin.

In today's episode we will begin Chapter 5 and a discussion of full spine Radiography.  Full spine x-rays are not only essential to the Gonstead work, but for any chiropractor who would attempt to address the biomechanics component of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.  As we begin, we will discuss the proper procedure for taking accurate and valuable x-rays that give insight into each patient's unique condition.
In today's episode, we will begin by talking about an important adjusting concept that is often ignored and leads to a lot of confusion.  We will then discuss Atlas corrections in both the seated position and on the knee chest table.
In today's episode, we will be discussing the proper technique for adjusting lower cervical subluxations in the cervical chair.  This includes both doctor and patient positioning to create a proper correction.

In today's episode, we will complete the chapter by looking at Instrumentation and X-ray as we look to integrate several different findings to produce a coherent picture of the VSC and its ultimate location.  This will conclude the chapter on spinal evaluation.
In today's episode, we will begin the chapter on lower cervical corrections by discussing adjustments on the knee chest table, which can also apply to the HiLo table as well.  These adjustments are intended to be very precise, so we will look at how to do them with precision.
In today's episode, we will be discussing corrections of the mid and upper thoracic vertebra on the knee chest table.  It is important to understand the proper technique in order to create a correction and not merely a cavitation.

In today's episode, we will conclude our discussion on palpation. This includes positioning as well as technique for proper assimilation of information.
In today's episode, we will begin Chapter 16 on Thoracic Corrections.  We will be covering adjustments on the knee chest table as well as the lower thoracic spine exclusively.
In today's episode, we will look at the elements of a clinical examination and how we should put the information together to determine what is in the best interest of the patient.  This is not about choosing one method of diagnosis, but it is about compiling data into a complete clinical picture.
In today's episode, we talk exclusively about corrections on the knee chest table.  This includes proper patient set up and relaxation, as well as doctor stance and technique.  This is an important table for all Gonstead Chiropractors to use on a daily basis and it begins with a proper understanding of what to do and how to do it.

In today's episode, we will finish our discussion of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex and how we can think about it scientifically. We will conclude the chapter by discussing different proposed mechanisms for how the VSC can contribute to lower health and adaptability.
In today's episode, we will begin discussing Lumbar Corrections.  We will do this by discussing how we make these corrections on the pelvic bench.  Next week, we will discuss the same corrections on the knee chest table.
In today's episode, we will discuss sacral corrections at the lumbosacral joint (base posterior sacrum).  We will also introduce the knee chest table and its proper application.

In today's episode we will continue to discuss the vertebral subluxation complex.  We will look at the biomechanics around this lesion and how it has effects that go beyond biomechanics.
In today's episode, we will begin discussing the correction of the sacrum.  This includes both involved side up and involved side down.  It is important to consider the movement of the joint in order to create the best correction possible.
In today's episode, we will complete the chapter of biomechanics and begin Chapter 3 on Subluxation.  This is an important transition to understand how biomechanics influences subluxation, and how subluxation influences biomechanics.
In today's episode, we look at the compound listings as well as both push and pull moves.
In today's episode, we will discuss the biomechanics of locomotion as well as coupled motion and how this will improve out understanding of what we are seeing on an X-ray.
In today's episode, we will begin discussing ilium corrections beginning with the EX pull move.  This move is difficult, but it gives us all of the necessary components to properly perform any of the adjustments on the pelvic bench.
