Sanskrit is regarded as one of the oldest Indian languages, but did you know that once it was a foreign language? Shocking isn't it? Well to most of us it definitely is, but here we will definitely try to make you all understand why it is so. You might also be wondering why the term ‘Hijacking’ is used for this video! Considering the vast heritage of our land, Sanskrit is definitely one of the earliest flights that took off early in the world and made its place everywhere, one would now say that it is indeed (Metaphor!). Since the British Invasion in India, many of the well-known names in British offices did study the Indian heritage and brought out facts that shook the world! What were these facts? The moon has been a favourite subject of many poets, painters, authors, writers, and even sculptors! Better known as the satellite of the earth, the moon has been a constant companion and a  guide for the travellers traveling in the night time. Apart from this, the moon has been also of utter importance in Indian Astronomy, Indian Astrology and is also viewed as a God by some people in India. Let's explore more about this heavenly body and understand the Indian Astronomical side of the moon. The importance of the moon mainly was illustrated because of the Nakshatras, one of the most important concepts in Hindu Astronomy. A Nakshatra is basically a star or a group of stars. There are 27 of them, and the moon takes days to travel from one Nakshatra to another, devoting equal time to everyone - Fair Justice ! But why does this become so important ? Well, being the earth’s satellite, the moon’s path also being elliptical, shows the path of the moon and how it goes from one nakshatra to another - quite interesting, aint it? When we generally go through a calendar,  the boxes with dates have something written like Tritiya or Chaturthi or Saptami. What does that mean? Why do two days share the same TITHI sometimes? Do Date and Tithi hold the same meaning? Well No, they do not, why? because a Tithi is a lunar day. So, how can one calculate a Tithi? Here are some simple tricks that will help you determine today’s Tithi and some interesting insights on the ancient Indian concept. Everything irevolves around time and is ultimately dissolved in the same. Rather than being some parameter to measure the day night cycle, time has been more precious, and more of a jewel to all of us. But did you ever wonder, What is Time? Is Time Real? Is the nature of Time linear or is it cyclical? As per the general theory of relativity, Time is relative. it depends on the perspective, after all! The ancients believed that Time is cyclical in nature. Many Indian texts show that great amounts of time repeated after certain intervals. Did you know that Indian Astronomy is highly regarded as one of the oldest sciences in India? From its findings of the oldest caves to finding a good (auspicious) day with the help of it, Indian Astronomy has been there in our lives, in some way or the other.  While for some, it is an extremely fascinating subject, for others, it can be boring and monotonous.  Why explore these countless objects in the sky ? Why is this topic so important that people devote so much time to it? Well, Indian Astronomy has the answers to all of your 'why', 'how' and 'whats', and we are here to answer most of them! In this video we would like to bring a scientific touch to the Indian Astronomy.  Do like, share, comment and subscribe to our channel! Do you know the reason why Ram Navami is known to be celebrated on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra? Ramnavami is celebrated in the memory of the birth of Lord Rama, the son of King Dashrath of Ayodhya. Ram Navami according to the Georgian calendar, falls in the month of March or April.  The epic Ramayana is an essential part of Indian tradition. But questions like, did Rama actually exist? Was the epic inspired by actual events? If in fact this chain of events really did take place then what is the evidence? Well, there are multiple astronomical references and assumptions in the epic Ramayana itself. Here are some freshly evaluated astronomical observations of the text. Watch the video for more information and fresh and latest facts! Do not forget to hit like, share and subscribe to our channel. Happy Hindu New Year! Happy Gudi Padwa. For many centuries, Hindus have been celebrating Gudi Padva. It is called Paadyami in Telugu and Samsara Padavo in Konkani. It is celebrated as Ugadi or Yugadi In Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and Cheti Chand by the Sindhi community. Thus, Gudi Padwa is celebrated by various Hindu communities with several names. Now the significant question is WHY Hindu New Year is NOT celebrated on the same day every year, just like the Christian New Year? What do you think might be the reason? What are the factors that influence the change in dates each year? Here are some astronomical and mathematical reasons why. watch this video and find out! Saraswati was a mighty river that flowed from the mountain to the sea sustaining the lives of the Vedic people. This very reference gives a valuable pointer to Saraswati's geography and the search for the river invariably begins from the Himalayas. Loosely translated to “The Flowing One”, this river eventually flowed out of its existence we must say ! Many researchers, archaeologists, and scientists have studied the Indus Valley remains and have found the remains of this river. Even Satellite imaging has shown its mere existence! Then why did such a river dry out of people’s memories? Why did such a river fade away along with its importance and how it becomes necessary to rethink about this river ? Stay tuned for such answers because we will answer them in this audio. Music is a universal language. People from different parts of the world listen and admire various types of music. A close friend of music is nature, which itself is a birthgiver of music ! All the notes in music - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni - can be found in nature. In India, along with other sciences, music was also to some extent studied significantly, and was used as a great memory tool to memorize different vedas and shlokas. Well, there is science there as well! The vedic chants we hear nowadays are musically so important, that music has proved that singing those chants in that particular manner definitely is a mouth and tongue exercise! We saw that the Varna system was based on the occupation one had. But what defined someone by birth is the Jati of that person - or put in simple words - the caste. The Caste of someone has been a very fragile topic for many. While someone considers it as a fortune, for someone it is a complete nightmare. But did you know that Caste system was NEVER of Indian Origin? In fact, our Vedas and other important texts definitely speak of all humans being created equal! It was the tyranny of the British Rule that, for their own sake, they introduced such reforms and acts. Only because of this, their administration could function correctly. But one cannot clap with only one hand, and the other side effect was definitely seen. The caste system definitely was one of the bricks of the walls of destruction among the common people, and did cause a lot of damage. Stay tuned to understand more of hows and whys of this!
