Three doves circled in the sky over the Denver Colorado Temple during construction, as if a sign from heaven, blessing the efforts of those down below. One construction welder was a member who always hoped he could help in the construction of a temple - so he volunteered to help a few days a week after and in addition to his day job. One stake started a Temple Fund years before the announcement came, just so they were ready when it did. Join us to hear these and many other amazing stories about the Denver Colorado Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.Announcement:  31 March 1982Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  19 May 1984 by Gordon B. Seoul Korea Temple

Seoul Korea Temple

The story of the Seoul Korea Temple is not just about a building; it’s about the people and their faith. At a time of national unrest and rebuilding the gospel of Jesus Christ came to the people of Korea. Getting the temple built was a matter of necessity, as the government would not let couples leave together to go to the Hawaii or Tokyo temples. It sounds like a gorgeous building, inside and out. And if you watch one famous K-Drama, you might sneak a peek at it!Announcement:  1 April 1981Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  9 May 1983 by Marvin J. As the first temple in Africa it was the most geographically remote temple for many years. And it was the furthest from Salt Lake City in the world. We are grateful for the history of the Saints in this area, and we are more excited for the future of the church as missionary work takes off, we are sure the future holds miracles across that great continent!Announcement:  1 April 1981Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  27 November 1982 by Marvin J. Santiago Chile Temple

Santiago Chile Temple

2025-09-1736:46

The Santiago Chile Temple was announced just 24 years after the Chilean mission was established. Church growth has been extremely fast and abundant in this lovely country. When the Chile Mission was organized in 1956, the country had just over 600 members. In less than two decades, there were four missions and nearly 100,000 members. By the year 2000, there were over half a million Latter-day Saints in Chile, more than 3 percent of Chile’s population. This was the highest proportion anywhere in Latin America. Announcement:  2 April 1980Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  30 May 1981 by Spencer W. This is a special pre-General Conference episode of the Every Temple Podcast where we talk to our friend Olivia about her educated guesses for where new temples may be announced at the October 2025 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you have any guesses please add them in the comments on Spotify or on our Instagram and Facebook pages! We will meet up with Olivia after conference to review what she got right and what she thinks about the temples that are announced!
The Nuku’alofa Tonga Temple is an answer to prayer! The temple was announced in 1980, and when the people heard it, they wept. The members there were so willing to sacrifice to get to their nearest temple, they sold everything they could to travel to Hawaii or New Zealand. Since this temple opened, it has been well-used, and well-loved.Announcement:  2 April 1980Groundbreaking and Site Dedication:  18 February 1981 by Spencer W.
