ROYAL FLUSH! (poker term) ... this week the sibs talk about episode 8 of season 3, titled "Poker," in what has to be the worst episode of this podcast we have ever released. Maybe "worst" is a strong word, but boy are we loose in this ep. Listen in as we do a complete disservice to this very strong episode of Malcolm in The Middle! And be sure to stick around until the end, where Ryan has to leave during the recording so Willa takes the last 15 minutes of the episode solo. If that sounds bad, I can assure you it's worse than you're thinking!! Just kidding, this is a fun one. But yikes.
HO HO HO! Christmas came early this year! And by that I mean the newest episode of YNM in which the sibs cover Season 3 episode 7 of Malcolm in the Middle, entitled "Christmas." Had you there for a second. This week the sibs talk about the Christian faith, pissing your pants, and whether or not Santa is real, as we cover another BANGER episode of MitM. These episodes refuse to stop hitting. And neither does our podcast, which gets markedly better episode by episode. Check it out!!
The final storyteller. The surgeon. The editor. This episode we talk with editor Steve Welch, who shaped MitM's look and feel since the very beginning. We're officially Welch-heads. Steve had incredible insights to share about the process of creating Malcolm and weighed in on comedy editing more broadly. He's basically done only banger projects like Walk Hard, New Girl, Mr. Show, Barb and Starr go to Vista Del Mar, and much more. What a guy, what a chat, what a tv show we are covering here on Yes, No, Maybe! Love you guys!"The fact that editing is supposed to be invisible... is what makes it such a great craft." — Su Friedrich
Hal is very sick. Or is he?Lois and Hal await medical news. Bernard the hamster makes his iconic debut, cementing his legacy for years to come. Francis and Lavernia battle it out in Alaska (top left corner of the USA , but not attached, for reference). And Reese and Malcolm sneak out. All in a days work of another RIPPER of an episode. Hey... we love you.
After a brief hiatus, we are BACK and arguably better than ever as Willa and Ryan cover season 3 episode 5, "Charity." In this soon-to-be-classic episode of the pod, your favorite siblings catch up with Francis as he finally makes his way to Alaska and recoil in horror as Malcolm, Reese, and Dewey steal from God and the poor. Additionally, we go deep on "justification music," a term we coin this episode but will no doubt resurface in future episodes. We're happy to be back! Enjoy the ep!
Whether you like it or not, Malcolm has a girlfriend. On today's episode of Yes No Maybe, Ryan and Willa discuss a (at risk of diluting the term) CLASSIC episode of Malcolm in the Middle. Malcolm is head over heels in love, Dewey hijacks a surprise party and tarnishes his relationship with the only friend he's ever had, and Francis finds himself absorbed in a small-town conspiracy that he glimpses through the bars of a local jail. Maybe a top 5 episode of Malcolm in the Middle. Just firing on all cylinders. This is why we do the podcast, folks. Man. What a ride. What a show! Ours and theirs.
On this standout episode of Yes No Maybe, your favorite sibling duo spend the first ~2 minutes of the episode talking about Christmas because they recorded this episode over a month ago. BUT THEN! They get into a fun ep that finds Lois joining a book club with a couple of alcoholic women, Hal and the boys caught in a standoff, and Francis encountering a sadistic, power-hungry trucker named Roy who makes helpless Francis play sick games for his own twisted enjoyment. It's a fascinating, psychosexual (not sexual) ritual that the siblings have fun deconstructing.Anyway, you know what you're getting into. We're brother and sister. We talk, we laugh, we usually peter out towards the end... it's all according to plan. Please enjoy this episode! Fun to record. Fun to do this podcast in general! Except when I have to write descriptions. Who's even reading this?
We're joined for a discussion of this barn-burner by Victor Z. Isaac, aka the iconic krelboyne Kevin, who makes his Malcolm in the Middle debut in this classic ep. Victor takes us behind the scenes of life on Malcolm, and along the way we go deep on the themes and craft of 302. And yes, we talk reboot. Come on. You think this is our first rodeo? A HUGE thanks to Victor for being on the podcast. It was a huge deal for us and we had a really great time. Please enjoy!!
Let Season 3.... COMMENCE! Hi everybody, we're back with Season 3 Episode 1 Houseboat which features, you guessed it, a houseboat! Wooo!Dewey on a buoy, Hal and Malcolm on a dingy, Kitty and Abe in a tizzy, Stevie and Reese gettin busy, and Lois? Hell, she's doin just fine. And, FINALLY, Francis is heading to ALASKA! The next step in his horrific life.Guys.... really exciting stuff coming for 2026... next week we will update you in a lil' bonus episode! Stay tuned....
SIBLINGS UNITE. This is the finale of Season 2 and buddy we got the big one for it: our older sister Olivia. She also grew up with a love for MitM, but perhaps didn't have the same drive to create an entire podcast about it... strange...We cover this fantastic episode in incredible detail, stopping along the way to tell some good 'ol anecdotes, and the whole thing is really just a delight. This episode hits hard with Hal and Lois at their wits end once again, fearing another pregnancy that would upend their lives. Bryan and Jane... I'm in love with you both. You guys think they read this? Yea, me neither :(Thank you all so much for listening this season, we're got some awesome stuff planned for Season 3, plus some content to prep for the reboot. Next week will be our ranking of Season 2 and then we will take a short break for the Holidays but be back SOON for S3. Eff the mods <3
Well folks, season 2 winds down with this penultimate episode EVACUATION which finds Hal and Dewey threaten the lifeblood of their town and all its inhabitants. Also, Francis goes on a date with a 12 year old girl. Fun! Willa and I talk about all sorts of stuff, you'll love it. I feel particularly bad because I feel like I was pretty mean to Willa this episode. Even more than usual! Anyway, some personal reflection going on over here. Love you Willa. Please enjoy this episode and be sure to come back next week for the SEASON FINALE of season 2!
Oh buddy do we have another guest for you who is a total stranger! This week, Ryan's roommate Tavi joins the sibs to talk Carnival. You may remember Tavi from the infamous "Piglet gets washed by Roo without her knowing it's not her son" anecdote (s2 e6 'Convention').This episode is full of Stevie sass, Hal/Lois lust, and the ever cool headed Gorak. Oh, and the cuteness meter is back... and this time it's controversial. Thanks so much for listening! Love you Linwood <3
You guys aren't gonna believe how small this bike is. Or how much we got to say about it. Willa and Ryan are BACK with a special (and super cute) guest: Leo aka Willa's boyfriend! He gives his insight into the show as a more casual viewer and raises questions even the siblings don't ponder like, "When did Lois discover the Minibike in the sandbox?" Good stuff. As always, we love you and thanks for listening <3
Folks, our favorite sadist Francis Wilkerson has pitted his beloved brothers against each other. Ryan and Willa chop it up about this CLASSIC episode of M in the M -- it's got everything: Dewey putting cat medicine in his ears, Lois burning down a house, Reese and Malcolm debasing themselves for approval, etc.Worry not: we do discuss in detail the blooper reel that plays at the end of this episode, which left Ryan shaken to his core (I'm trembling now as I type this!).Enjoy!!
This is it. The two-time Emmy winning episode of Malcolm in the Middle: Bowling. Our episode on this episode is sure to win the Podcast Awards equivalent. And you can take that to the bank.Ryan and Willa watched this episode together and Ryan was quite literally mouthing the lines aloud as they watched. What an absolute freak. We compare Hal and Lois's parenting styles, dissect Dewey's mind-games, and call Francis a prick in this edition of Yes, No, Maybe. Enjoy!!
Another Reesed up episode this week folks. Ryan and Willa dive into Season 2 Episode 19, Tutoring Reese, where the titular character is at risk of joining the lowest of the middle school caste system: the remedial class. Meanwhile, Francis is battling Lois and living in absolute hell (what else is new!) and Dewey befriends a fly. Beers were drank, weather was discussed, the energy is absolutely electric, and we love you all.
Reese cooks! The title, as usual, says it all. But also: Cynthia is back, Francis procrastinates, and Dewey does something I'm sure. Ryan and Willa talk about Season 2 Episode 18 of Malcolm in the Middle! We get a glimpse into Ryan's own fear of cooking, and the siblings debate the emotional warfare that is Hal and Lois's parenting style. Enjoy!
They've got our boy. And they're trying to cut him up. This week, Willa and Ryan talk Season 2 Episode 17: Surgery. Malcolm's appendix is in trouble, but that's not the only grumbling tummy this ep. Francis is hunger striking, and the family is so addicted to a board game they don't even stop to chow! Does this make sense? Am I okay? Great episode, stellar anecdotes from Willa and Ryan. Enjoy!
This episode we get serious. We talk about right and wrong-uh.Lois is being RAILROADED. Hal is emotionally intelligent. Willa cannot stop saying "Stink on dat". Important stuff all around. Apologies for the later drop on this one folks but we got some good stuff comin' your way anddd we love you. <3 Enjoy!
The meanest people in the world are in town: Lois's parents. Malcolm's grandparents. Hal's in-laws. You get it. Willa and Ryan talk s2e15 and, yeah, Willa gets a few stellar impressions in there too. Buckle up baby, we've got over-analyzation of a 2000s sitcom to do.

Absolute chaos from start to finish. 10/10, no notes.
