This is Maple Footy, Canada's (Unofficial) Football Podcast. Hosted by me, Sam Little, the Maple Footy podcast is a home for football/soccer to get their fix of talking footy. If you're like me you want to talk about and watch as much Canadian Soccer as you can; now you have found a place to listen about it too. Covering relevant Canadian Footy stories at the start of every episode so that you're in the know of what's going on with the Beautiful Game in Canada. Each international break will see me cover in-depth the games and news coming out of each game, whether it's a tournament or just friendlies, we'll talk about it! Regularly scheduled programing are our weekly Canadian recaps. Where we talk all about our Canadian Boys who are out there making noise. On occasion, we even have a few interviews up our sleeve! So follow along, I think you'll enjoy the show.

It is a pleasure to welcome Léa Palacio-Tellier to the podcast, our first-ever Futsal player. She comes with quite the CV as well, Captain of Team Canada, CONCACAF Futsal Champion, Golden Glove Winner and Futsal Player of the Year. It was great to talk about her journey, making her dreams a reality, and her achievements both as a team and individually! Was really great to sit down with one of Vancouver FC's newest recruits, Marcello Polisi. He's a CPL vet now, having played with Halifax Wanderers and Valour in the past, then there was a stint with Detroit in the USL. Marello talks about his unique playing style, how he stays disciplined and the upcoming season with Vancouver FC. It was a great chat with someone who is extremely passionate about what he does! Another week and there were some more injuries for our national team. We did have some positive news with some players returning to training, but we seem to have caught the injury bug. Elswhere our Women's team played 2 matches in the She Believes Cup where we picked up another win along the way. In the MLS for the first time in a LONG time all 3 Canadian Teams picked up the 3 Points! And we still have more to cover so let's talk about it. Overall, it was a pretty good week for Canada Soccer. We had our Women's team grab a big win, some huge performances from our boys abroad and lots of MLS Drama. Whether it was our goalkeepers in the Florida Derby or our Canadian Clubs, we have some to talk about there. Of course there are sadly some injury concerns coming out of this week so we have to chat about those as well. So let's talk about it. It's always a pleasure to have a guest on the podcast, and the same can be said for this one. Step up Eryk Kobza, a player who I've been a fan in the league. Someone whose versatility has been used to Cavalry's advantage on a number of occasions. He's a player who has been a part of some huge moments for the Cavs, whether it be the 2023 regular season win, the 2024 North Star Cup Victory or the 2025 upset against Pumas. He's done a lot. In this interview, we talk about his accomplishments, some highs and lows, those history-making moments and what Cavalry has meant to him. A tough weekend for Canadian Footy fans, whether it was some injuries to players like Promise David and Alphonso Davies, our English Championship boys struggling or some slow starts to the MLS Season for some of our guys. But there were some positives, like a great debut for Maxime Crépeau and a solid showing from Ismaël Koné! So let's talk about it all. Not every day you get to sit down and chat with someone who is so young yet has so much experience in the world of football coaching. Domenic Rajna has quickly rose through the coaching ranks of football and has found himself coaching in some cool places. Canadian Boys are truly always making noise. Whether it be Cyle Larin scoring in his debut for Southampton to get his season back on track in new colours, or Jacen Russell-Rowe making his Ligue 1 debut. Then there was Ethan Schilte-Brown getting into the Scottish Premiership Team of the Week, Davies & David continuing their uphill trajectory and of course some transfer news.
