Hello dear listeners, it's time again to pull up a chair to the pop culture round table! Pat, Bryan, BeeJay, and Erik are back at the pop culture round up for another episode discussing the month in pop culture. After some chitter chatter, the boys dive into the topics for this month's show. Heading to the movies, it's a trifecta of films that span a wide variety of genres. In one theater, it's the over the top camp of Street Fighter starring Noah Centineo, Cody Rhodes, and Orville Peck. One theater over, it's the DCU tangential (body) horror film, Clayface taking over the domestic box office. Before leaving the local theater, it's the documentary that captured the public's attention and the number two spot domestically, Nathan Fielder's look at Elizabeth Holmes - You Can See Everything. It's not all movies and popcorn on this episode though as the boys turn the TV dial to HBO Max to slip on their rings and discuss the season of Lanterns. Before having a little laugh and excitement over the release of the 40th anniversary The Legend of Zelda hardware and Ocarina of Time game itself, Pat shares some sad news about the show's OG pod dog, Havok. He will be sorely missed. There's a lot of gay and geeky goodness waiting for you, so get ready to FLAME ON!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/flameon. Hosted on Acast. Dear listeners, the leaves are starting to change color and the air is getting cooler (well, maybe not in the South), and the boys are back at the round table for another monthly pop culture round up!Pat is joined on this episode by BeeJay and Erik, and they are trying out a new round table format. Rather than each person heading up a topic of discussion, they have divided up the chatter into Television, Video Games, and Movies, so that they can bring even more pop culture goodness to you! In the TV section they chat about RuPaul's Drag Race UK and NBC's non-celebrity season of The Traitors. From there it's time to discuss video games because there was some hot items dropped, especially about The Legend of Zelda including a playable Ocarina and a symphony tour! Finally, the boys head to the theater (sometimes at home) as they make their way through Racoon City in the new reboot of Resident Evil, before they GET OVER HERE and WAHOO their way through The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Mortal Kombat II. The time is now, so get ready to FLAME ON!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/flameon. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Dear listeners, the summer is almost over, but it's hot at the Flame ON! round table! The whole crew is back together as Pat Da Bear, Beejay, Bryan, and Erik are all back to dish the dirt and gab about the pop culture topics that are tingling their tootsies. Before they dive into the topics of the month, they chat about the weather (yes, again!) and the passing of the icon, Dolly Parton. From there, they put on their mouse ears and join the Disney company to discuss some major announcements from D23 including the Kingdom Hearts anime as well as the new worlds, more Avengers: Doomsday footage, the X-Men casting, and much more. From there they hop into the movie theater to chat about Obsession before heading to the Home Box Office (now Max) to chat about the premier of Lanterns. Closing out the conversation, it's time for some music as they boys chat about Carly Rae Jepsen's upcoming album, Day and Night. Got thoughts about the topics? Dear listeners, Marvel's favorite wall crawler has swung back into movie theaters, so the boys are back to discuss!Pat Da Bear, BeeJay, and Erik swung their way through the city to get to the organic web covered round table to shoot the webs about Marvel's 38th entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as Peter Parker fights to save the day in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As is tradition for film microsodes, the boys kick off the episode to chat about the parts of the movie that made their Spidey sense tingle in all the right ways. Following that, they switch gears to discuss what parts may not have the (eight) legs to stand on. To close out the episode, the boys swing out on a limb for their wild conjecture and speculation as well as flame ratings!Once you're done listening, let the boys know what you thought of Brand New Day, but until then, get ready to FLAME ON!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/flameon.
